    You can buy a whole monster box of 1/10th silver Britannia's from Atkinsons for around £1586 currently. That equates to just under £5 each. 32 ounces worth . Worth about £905 with the VAT on top of the spot price. £681 premium. £2.13 per coin premium.
    Yeah, they are about the size of a 5p coin. Don't mix them up with your change, lol.

    I think these are quite fun to own, and the Britannia reverse translates well in terms of design. Still, it's weird how the Royal Mint doesn't round the amount of coins per tube to the nearest ounce - for example, the 1/10 oz. coin tube contains 16 coins - why not make it an even 20?

    1/10 oz fractional's major pro is it's ultra liquid, if silver goes £500 + per oz (which is an increasing possibility), then at least you got some small change at a time when small change will be in massive demand, thus it gains increased purchasing power because of that very fact, people need to realise what's coming with £500+ silver world, it's real sound money, a coin of the realm which is CGT exempt, in the long run it's always best to have a bit of everything in my view.

    • @daviniarobbins9298
      @daviniarobbins9298 4 месяца назад +4

      Wow, you are optimistic there with £500. If silver ever hits £500 I will buy you a pint or whatever your drink is.

      I did a quick back of the fag packet calculation based on the paper/silver ratio X spot per oz and its around £9,280 per oz so when it breaks it's going to be for want of a better word "Biblical", everyone is going to have a religious experience with this, Silver will become generational wealth after its become unobtaineum, skin in the game if you want to win it you got to be in it.

    Here in the USA when I order fractional silver it is 90% US coinage. AKA junk silver / constitutional silver. For .999 fine i order ounces. Now I am stacking fractional 1/10 gold Britts.

      We have all the pre 1965 90% silver. We also have the modern coins 90% proof coins. State proof quarters 90% are my current go to for fractional silver.

    My honest opinion: I would very much like to have some fractional silver coins (preferably the 1/10 oz ones or the 1/4 oz ones), mainly because I think it can be very useful for bartering with other people in the case of post-economic-collapse scenario. But I just CAN'T get over the fact that the premium of those fractional silver are so high.
    [I know there is an alternate to fractional silver, which is "US constitutional silver", but then it gets tricky as some US constitutional silver has 90% silver purity and some has 50% silver purity. If I use those for bartering in the future, it's so time consuming to calculate how much silver weight my US constitutional silver actually has. My other BIGGEST WORRIES, is that there have been fake US constitutional silver came out of China before. Making it even more confusing...] I can easily test if a 99.99% silver coin is real or not, but I CAN'T easily do the same with US constitutional silver, unfortunately.
