the quality of the video and editing is just superb. you really stepped up a level. the touring set up is also amazingly well though and I really like your choices. very interesting set of videos here!
Another great video Brian. Thanks to watching your videos, I can setup my Brompton the same way as you have. I bought my Chubby trailer based on your video on same and it has always done its job well. Same with the T-bag. May your trip be a huge success. Stay safe.
Thanks Brian, really interesting to see your setup. I'm touring on my brompton next Spring, and you've given me what I think is a great idea for a setup. I love your trailer, but my concern is this scenario: imagine you want to make a short stop at a small roadside store (or a place of interest). You can fold up the bike and the the trailer, but then you've got to somehow push the bike and the trailer around the store whilst you shop, plus the shopping trolley that holds your groceries- or at least keep a hand free to carry a shopping basket. I regularly shop on my brompton with panniers or a backpack, and to be honest its sometimes a hassle just to push the folded bike around whilst still holding on to my panniers or rucksack, plus the shopping basket (or trolley). The idea of trying to get around a small cramped store with a folded brompton, plus a folded trolley, plus a shopping basket/trolley and my handlebar bags etc, just seems almost impossible. I would strongly advise you to do try out a shopping trip in a nearby store with your full setup, and see how manageable it is to shop whilst pushing everything around with you. My solution for this (at the moment) is simple- just add a backpack to the setup. You can keep your stuff inside a backpack that is carried in the trailer. That way, when you want to stop, you can quickly put the backpack onto your back, and lock the trailer up outside the store (after all trailers are not as desirable to thieves, and you can replace them). Then all you have to worry about is pushing the brompton around the store with one hand, and the other hand will be free to carry a basket, because all your stuff is in a backpack.
The trailer add additional weights and 2 wheels that might go flat. It best to pack light and have everything on the bike. But its all depend where you are going and your preference
I am curious and excited how practical birdy trailor’s works … on long touring …looking forwards to your updates … cheers for your upcoming trip … thanks for sharing … india 🙏
That looks like a really good setup - love the practicality of the solar cells. Was wondering if you were going to use the chubby - that and the T-bag look like the best combo for a long tour. Looking forward to the gear video!
I got a Brompton to do multimodal trips and touring (subway, Amtrak, airplanes, bikerafting). A trailer cancels the primary advantage of a Brompton or other folder: compactness. And since riding a folder is generally less comfortable than riding large wheels...why tour with a trailer on a folding bike?
That set up is pretty cool - I have been thinking about that trailer for a while, and you may have pushed me into getting it :) I had not thought of the solar panel advantage either - thank you :)
I toured once with a trailer on my Bike Friday llama. It was a disaster. I flipped the trailer twice & then I had to bail off the road into a soft shoulder. Things got sketchy real fast. I actually bought the Burley Nomad trailer mid-tour. I asked Bike Friday if I could return it & they obliged. Trailers are great for around town stuff but not so much for touring in my experience.
Ok, I own a Burley Nomad for 26 years now. I also flipped the trailer once during a holiday tour, but the trailer went over the sidewalk with 1 wheel. So no surprise in my case.
I have a Chubby trailer; they are excellent. One thing I’ve learnt is to lubricate the axles regularly . I’m assuming that you’re either using a different frame on the T bag or have cut the handle off, as a T bag frame usually catches the S handlebars? Have a great time.
Hi Brian, the trailer and front bag look great. I think it will work well on your tour. You often use the word " we ", are you going by yourself or is someone going along with you ?.
Attractive video and tempts me to try a Chubby trailer but I fail to comprehend the reasoning for transporting the Brompton in it beyond the need to have a transportable flight case. You are left with the contents of the trailer to carry when that is displaced by the bike.
Thanks for sharing. Regarding your load plan, have you considered toting you water near the axles of your trailer and shifting something lighter to your rear rack. I’m just thinking of the weight of the water causing a tail-wagging-the-dog poor handling issue. Maybe not such a big deal on a 16” wheel bike. But wondering. Thanks again. for the post.
That’s the plan, but we are going to do a test and go camping for a weekend to see if she can handle it. If not, I’m going to leave her with my brother.
ou mention you could load everything on the train, but check first. Some trains let you bring a bike some don't. The odds are you will have to check it. I hope you all the luck with your adventure.
Anyone here tried a bike with the S handlebars (the type of Brompton our host rides) and also one with the M handle bars? Any thoughts on the differences? No, I will not have the chance to test ride them prior to purchase. On this video, like the dreamy music playing while our host rides in the sunshine. BTW, this is one of my three favorite Brompton channels, along with the channels featuring (1) the Japanese family that rides in the New York area; and (2) a guy named Marc who commutes on his Brompton in Paris and rides also in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Hi Brian, here my experiences. The trailer is good. I tried the setup from 'Brompton Traveler' (ruclips.net/video/vfQe4f0jbZs/видео.html&ab_channel=BromptonTraveler) and also the trailer setup (I got the Radical Design Cyclone 4) and both setups are good. The setup from 'Brompton Traveler' is handier if you use public transport on your journey and on bad roads the trailer is a disadvantage. If you are on relatively good roads and are not going on public transport I think the trailer is better. Good luck.
What a cool set up. Man the music was wonderful. Captures the feeling of riding a bike.
Nicely done. The time it must have taken, the filming, the music choices-all much appreciated.
Thank you, I appreciate you taking the time to watch. 👍😃

@@ibikeunfolded you’re welcome.
Super video Brian,thanks a million!!!!
Thank you for watching👍😃
Well done! Good luck on the road!
Very intelligently thought out--can't wait; please tell us where kitty will be when you are touring.

Thank you, yeah I love the chubby. It’s great for hauling lots of stuff long distances.👍
This is epic! You can carry a lot of beer on that rig!! 😉
Yeah, when I get pulled over by the police and they ask “have you been drinking” I can say I had one beer, But my cat she had a lot.
You have spent too much time in Belgium with its delicious beers. 😉
@@mardiffv.8775 You know it! ;)
Nice video. I love the chubby trailer, too.
Hi Brian - the rig is finally revealed and it looks great! I'm looking forward to the gear exposition and your posts from the tour.
Great set-up Brian. I can see that working incredibly well!

His trailer can carry the wheels and Brompton inside the bag. Handy when you go flying. You can carry your normal luggage in a duffle bag.
Nice bike and accessories👍 I really like that trailer!
Excellent recommendation bro. Will definitely consider this option for my future bike tours. Thanks! :)
That set up is pretty cool - I have been thinking about that trailer for a while, and you may have pushed me into getting it :) I had not thought of the solar panel advantage either - thank you :)
Great stuff 👍
Hey I think zizzo heard your complaints because they just said that the new Forte will have Urbano and Liberte gearing and derailleurs. Great job!😊👍
Yes, they told me they took my advise. 👍😃

Hey Brian great video and nice set up. Zizzo has a new version of the forte coming out this fall. I am going to get it!
I know, and so am I. 👍😃

The new t bag has no handle so I got a frame from the newer t bag and inserted it in my older model t bag. 😁😁
@@ibikeunfolded sounds good. I put a S frame in a C bag for the same reason. Thanks
What Bern helmet is that?
It’s a Macon
Hi Brian, the trailer and front bag look great. I think it will work well on your tour.

I say “we” because I take “you guys” with me.😃
@@ibikeunfolded I like your reasoning, thanks for the ride 👍
Good set up👍👍
I need to show you the Brompnot I got from Alibaba today...
Attractive video and tempts me to try a Chubby trailer but I fail to comprehend the reasoning for transporting the Brompton in it beyond the need to have a transportable flight case. You are left with the contents of the trailer to carry when that is displaced by the bike.
Nice set up. How come you don't use (ever use) the rack for luggage? Why don't you remove it if you don;t use it?
Have you done anything to anchor the wiring to your phone from battery or leave it loose?
I’m going to show that in a video- it’s not really necessary with my cell/battery design.
Thanks for sharing. Regarding your load plan, have you considered toting you water near the axles of your trailer and shifting something lighter to your rear rack. I wonder if anyone makes water bladders that would fit in a pannier bag setup?
Interesting idea. I’m not sure but I’ll look into that😃
Brian, great video again. Just wondering, did you ever review a Birdy? Very curious on how the ride is compared to Brompton. What's your take?
I haven’t yet got my hands on a Birdy…..hopefully some day soon😀👍

where are you going to put beans??
I have got her cat carrier that can strap to the top of the trailer or use it’s included back pack straps.
6:03 Aw, you should've said hi...
Are going to put a flag on the trailer?
Are you taking the cat😎
