That baby one really gets me. I'm guilty of offering to hold the baby after only knowing them for a bit. But if someone says no, I'll just say "fair enough, anything else I can do to help?" Basic respect shouldn't be this hard
yeah usually if I don't know people I typically won't ask, but when I was doing the pre-school program at my school I would ask to hold the babies on our Fridays baby day. the moms would say "you don't have to ask" but I always thought it was common curtsey. I even still ask my best friend if I can hold my nephew, because its not my kid.
I do the same thing but I always back off as soon as they say no. Some people have no respect tho
I also offer but I usually do after Ive washed my hands
The difference is that you actually respect the parent and don't push them about it. Babies are living humans, not objects, and their parents know them best. Not to mention that some parents can be protective when meeting strangers. You're definitely right, basic respect is not that hard.

I'm 7 months pregnant with my second, my anger and anxiety went right up as soon as they said the woman got up. That woman who did that needs to learn self control and the mother of the op needs to be supportive of her daughter.

I was born in November, about a week before thanksgiving. My mom took me (A WEEK OLD) to the family gathering for my dad's side of family. My dads side is huge- regularly 50+ people at every holiday. My mom was getting hounded by people she never met to hold her super brand new baby, and she just scanned around looking for someone she recognized- and she saw my great grandmother. My mom just said "great grandma gets the first turn!" And handed me to her. That got people to relax a bit and give us space. Because of this story I've done my best not to ask anybody to hold their baby- if they want me to, they'll offer.
I just adore the gentleness with which Kriss does Jessica's hair. So much domestic family love in it. It's nice

I love how Jay also added his own opinions. Also, the fact that the writers mom got mad at them because they didn’t let someone they didn’t know hold their baby is crazy. It’s their baby, not theirs, especially because they were pressuring them to give them their baby even tho they didn’t want too. Oh, and Kris’s hair is looking as fabulous as her. My little one is 6 months, and I was very much no touchy for the first months before his vaccines(even relatives hadtowash their hands to hold him). I'm glad that your kids ask to touch! i’m a ftm and when my baby wasn’t even three weeks old i had someone literally play tug of war with me trying to take my baby from me saying “i’ve just gotta hold that baby” and when i kept saying no she finally stopped, leaned down, and kissed my baby right by her mouth. i don’t think i’ve ever cried that much since the day i had her

Yeah, personally, Jay doesn’t get enough credit for his editing, it’s also cool how Jay adds short clips of himself talking or doing something to add to the humour and make it more relatable or just to share his stories or experiences ✨

The weeks of pregnancy do make a difference. I had my second baby at 32 weeks. Jessica, if someone tries to rub your belly without asking, just rub their belly back. I would never have handed over one my babies to a stranger, especially if I were trying to get them to sleep. I loved Jay's contributions to this video! Smosh reddit storytime is the best! Thank you for doing your own spin on it, Kris, Jessica, and Jay! ❤

I had my first at 32 weeks as well.. and my second at 30 weeks.. those 2 weeks do make a big difference.. When I was pregnant with my first there was 3 of us in the family pregnant all due within the same week… we all had preemies… my cousin went into labor at 27 weeks and her daughter sadly had a lot of issues and unfortunately only made it to 5 yrs.. then I had mine and the other baby was born at 33 weeks.. that he only lived a couple days.. I still feel so much pain over that and have survivors guilt because they we’re responsible and nicely settled while I was doing it on my own without a cent to my name.. yet my son is a healthy 15 yr old.. my cousin hasn’t had another baby 😢
This! One grocery clerk stocking shelves came up to me when i was pregnant last year and rubbed my belly. I didn't know what to do. I was upset and weirded out at the same time.. why did i laugh and nod along though 😂 it's so wrong that people do this to women without consent!
I would not even ask to hold a strangers baby! If the parents offer it and I know them, sure thing, or when I have the feeling holding the baby would help them, and I held it before, then I would offer my services.
And the whole belly rubbing thing, wow, my wife would rub some faces for something like that.

On the first story, I am an athlete. Specifically competitive swimming. We get about a three week break in between seasons. In that break it is very hard for me and my brother(who also swims) to adjust to not racing all the time. It is honestly normal. And he didn’t even gain like any pounds.
