About a year ago, I went to a nail place that had 1.5 stars. My nails turned out absolutely amazing. I posted a picture of my nails with a 5 star review. They now are sitting at 4.5 stars. My review was even mentioned in other reviews saying they weren’t sure about this place until they saw my snowflake nails. My tech hand painted snowflakes on my nails and they were the most detailed perfect little snowflakes.
You might have single-handedly saved that small business! Well, with both hands; but you know what I mean! 😅

Yea that’s y I don’t listen to people in reviews because I used to work in a restaurant and realized it’s mostly negative people who want to review the place and not the people who actually enjoy the experience i don’t ever go somewhere then think “yk I need to write a review” UNLESS there are people online hating on the place

@@cinnamonrollypoly It’s racist because it is implying that India, an asian country, is inherently unclean, when there are plenty of places that are unclean in white dominated countries. For example, the reviewer could’ve compared it to a pig sty, and that would not have been racist. But calling Indian people dirty (if indirectly) is absolutely racist.
Fun fact about Yelp: it's literally a racket. We had nearly a perfect five star rating at one time. Then we got cold called by someone from Yelp wanting us to buy advertising, which we turned down. The next day, we got two new fabricated one star ratings and the vast majority of our five star ratings were hidden in the "Not Recommended" section, dropping our published rating down to ~2/5. Of course they call back and hint that they can help with our issues with our real five star reviews being hidden... if only we buy some advertising. Don't ever give into those thugs.

Definitely, I stopped using Yelp once I started using Google Maps reviews and noticed how different they were for the same businesses.
Yelp has actually been sued for doing this, and somehow managed to win. They penalize businesses for not buying advertising by review-bombing them with fake/fictitious/fabricated reviews that of course magically vanish when the business bends over and pays them for advertising. So, yes, a digital protection racket. I refuse to do business with them and wouldn't piss on Yelp if it were on fire - any calls my company gets from them get auto-routed to voicemail and summarily ignored.
Grubhub is the exact same thing. We starting getting faxes saying for 1500 dollars they'd put our restaurant at the top of the chinese food catagory for our area. When we didn't they put us so low online you had to type the entire name out to find us on there.
Then they sent 4 or 5 fake deliveries from the same card (they paid for the food but they never answered or responded after the driver got there) and then gave 2 star reviews.
I love Rocko’s, it was a staple for me and my friends in college. Honestly I think that since Riverdale people’s expectations for it have become waaaay too high. Its not fine-dining, it’s a 24 hour truck stop diner. Great spot to hit up after a night at the bars, their poutine is literally the best drunk food

As someone who lives less than 5 minutes away from both rockos and mission city pizza, welcome to the neighborhood Kris!
The creepy looking farm you got lost around is actually one of my favorite places to drive past. Its one of the oldest standing buildings in the area, maybe the oldest farm, and has incredible light around dusk. Seen movies being filmed there over the years. Wouldn't doubt it's haunted ;)

As someone who has lived where all of these businesses are (multiple places) and frequented them, I'm sad to see all the negativity. Mission City Pizza has owners that do a ton of good for their community and has a member on the city council. Thank you for taking the time to give these businesses the benefit of the doubt and reviewing them accordingly. We all know people are more willing to post their negative experiences than their good ones.
Sometimes bad reviews can be true according to individual experiences, but seeing Kris getting the best service and being kind to the servers, it makes me wonder if those reviewers’ terrible service was because they were rude to the servers. Like they don’t really tell the full stories in those reviews.
@tylajo.moonflower yeah i think you're right. for the most part i get pretty good service wherever i go and i always make a point of leaving 5 star reviews when i'm really happy with an establishment. a lot of people think they can rock up to a place like they're the main character and be spoiled to death and they get pissy when the real world bitchslaps them. on the flip side i'm pretty certain that the diner staff recognized her and/or noticed she was filming and that's why they were ready to comp the meal when she went to check out. i would've liked to see kris noting the correct address of the pizza place in her review, though. 😅
The only thing that would have bugged me about the pizza place is that they don't have their address correct and they've known this for a year. I feel like they should get on to fixing that as a big priority. I wouldn't have worked as hard as Kris to find the pizza place if I drove to the wrong place twice.
I think part of it is just Yelp. Yelp always seems more negative than other places. Notice how some of those reviews were super old - 5 years. 8 years. 6 years. Meanwhile, Rocko's, for example, has 4.2 on Google, and 3.5 on TripAdvisor.
@@Yotsubaandmochias a small business owner, I can say that it is not as easy as you think to correct anything on Google or Apple maps. Sometimes they just make stuff up and require the business owner to do impossible legwork to fix it.

Yeah, somebody almost certainly recognized her and they probably put 2 and 2 together. But before they knew, the service seemed to be good and everything so I think she was honest in saying she was going to give them 5 stars anyway beforehand.

My favorite part about this video is that you went in knowing people’s review but actually gave it a chance still. Sometimes a place has horrible reviews but is actually a hidden gem. ❤

I just got my nails done yesterday at a local spot. Been going there with my mom since I was a kid. I asked my mom to text her to ask when she was available, and I got in as soon as Thursday. They always do a great job. For anyone that watches the anime demon slayer, I got my nails inspired by the way Nezuko's nails go from normal to dark red at the tips when she's using her demon powers.

I think 20 minutes is a universal number for picking up a pizza. I currently work at a pizza restaurant and they told me when I started as a hostess to always say 20 minutes. Unless of course it's a really big order or like just a mini pizza, I usually say 10-15 for the small pizzas or mini pizza orders. If it's a big order, I usually look at it and say 20-25 or 25-30. Because if you include driving time too then it's likely to be ready by the time they get there.

Kris’s videos always make me laugh, smile, and be happy. She helps me during bad times. This morning my parents had a horrible fight and while I was watching you I forgot all about them. Thank you Kris for making my life so much better.

I live in a part of Texas where a lot of Vietnamese people live. We have nail salons everywhere. It's very common to do a walk-in service. I work at a restaurant, most of my coworkers are Vietnamese. One of my coworkers confirmed that being a good nail tech and making good money means moving out of Texas. His brother is very talented and has a great business after moving to another state. Most of the nail salons around my area are run by Vietnamese people, some are run by Chinese. I never thought about having to book a nail appointment a week or two in advance. If there are many salons in an area, you can usually get in on a whim. The work varies. Check for cleanliness. Make sure you get individual tools and they put a liner in the pedicure tub. (I do my own nails, I get pedicures. I'm very ticklish, the techs are great with that. The massage is worth it!.) ❤

I couldn't believe Kevin's restraint; he didn't even go for that pizza, even after it was reveled right in front of him, he just sat there, licking his chops!
After over a week with sore throat, this helped alongside the meds with my mood and overall feeling, so thank you the soon-to-be auntie Kris!
There's so many illnesses going around where I live now, it's like every strain has descended on my local area.

The amount of times I can relate to kris is unbelievable however the enjoyment i get from the videos is unbeatable 😂
