Just found your channel while watching all the X100VI content imaginable, and I'm so glad I did. Your videos are so chill and natural. The videos and photos are absolutely beautiful too! Looking forward to going through all your videos.
Sooo thankful for you taking the time to watch them and for the compliment. Very happy you’re enjoying it, I’ve got some fun new stuff on the way for ya 🫡
Great video, I think you hit on a lot of really key points. Trusting your intuition is so huge. Probably the most important trick I ever learned was, if you shoot with a zoom lens, pay attention to the metadata and figure out what focal lengths you gravitate towards. I found that images I felt the strongest about were between 45-55. I primarily work with a 45mm prime now.
Thanks for answering my question! I appreciate the honesty. I shouldn't be surprised that most people in the visually creative field tend to work by trial and error, or by soaking in other visual content. looking forward to more vids!
just wanted to say that i stumbled upon your channel recently as someone that is extremely a hobbyist photographer - i've probably sat down and watched every video on your channel! very inspiring and would definitely be interested in purchasing a book, if you ever put one together!
Also i would buy a coffee table book, would even enjoy a few pages with storys of those adventures. Also dying for a wallpaper for my pc, tablet, or phone
As a photographer looking to do more video work the hardest thing for me has been finding inspiration, or feeling like I can better represent a story through Stills with my current ability.
Which Fujifilm x100v custom present film simulations have you used? I have almost soley use Kodachrome 64. But with so many options and scene types how do you decide which custom presets to use? ( I know you said you dont use simulations, but if you didbecause you probably could simulate what you do in raw with a custom preset.) When overcast use this... When sunny no cloud cover use this... When winter use this.. I'm curious with your style what are your "go to's" and when do you use them?
Hello! Yes, I do. I just updated the description of this video with a link to the one I've been using the past few years (last item on the list, now) - hope that helps!
10:56 Imposter syndrome is no joke. It's hard for people to understand that have never experienced it themselves but it can seriously hold you back. I experience it from a creative stand point for sure. (You can 1000% do a book btw)
I have unfollowed a number of RUclips channels after I watched all your videos. I just couldn't watch and stomach the crazy transitions anymore. I prefer the pace of your videos. It is more natural. Thank you.
Great Q&A man, would definitely love to see a rough process for your grading, or just seeing how you use the tools. I might learn a thing or two!
Thanks so much! I am planning on it, for sure. Will be a fun one 🤘
@@DylanSpitzcan’t wait!
can't wait for the colour grading video!!

Thanks. Please do walkthrough videos where you edit photos and talk through your editing thought process.
As in live, so no need for editing.
Really like the chilled vibes and honesty in this video
Thanks so much 🙏

You can do it! Practice is the answer, confidence will come with experience.

Hey! I’m sorry I can’t be much help here, I’ve tried a bunch of the film recipes and I just find I really can’t get a look I like with them.
Hi, Do you use an ND filter (variable?) to record film (I'm looking to buy one) ? Thanks so much for your inspiring work :)
