- Millions of pink salmon return to the hatchery in Valdez, Alaska, during July and August. Literally thousands of fish clog every inch of most streams. In this footage you'll gain a first hand view of how intense the run can be.

Glad Valdez is cleaned up since the tanker spill! Nicely done…they have to bring that culvert lower or make a big change there

Is it legal to take one home every day and eat it?
yes. you could take home more than you could possibly eat.
Why not water on the lake. It's building something in there
Can you go in and make them swim the down side
What month?
Splatatatatatatatatasplatooooon
Can someone dig a deeper creek for these salmons to swim upward ? would they go to die at this low tide? Thank you for showing to us.
This is low tide, the water will come up anywhere from 1 to 10+ feet and everything you see now will be underwater.
There are literally hundreds of millions of salmon in Alaska and Eastern Russia. Hell between the two countries the Fisheries Crews take over 200 million fish a year so a few dying at low tide is of no consequence. Every one of these salmon you see in this video was dead within the next few weeks it's how it works with Pacific salmon they always die when they spawn.
The Water Drainage is clean?????!
Salmon likes the Presense of Water current
This is encouraging. I thought they were decimated by Fukushima.
DionysusAlS Don't believe the media hype and the lies perpetuated by environmental groups.
@@TicklerDude i think the concern is that they're contaminated with radioactive material. There are AK water samples recently analyzed that are affected by that event. I forget the exact location in Alaska, but it shouldn't be hard to find, the story was just a few months back, around the end of 2018, possibly very early 2019. ...got it. sample from waters near St Lawrence island, bering sea.
Yet here in B.C. we anglers have a 1 pink salmon retention limit per day lol
In washington where this was filmed the runs are even worse and you cant even fish for pink salmon
At that location, limit is 6/day per person. load up your freezer if you want. There are years where there are so many fish, the limits were raised to 12/day per person.
😢 They died for their babies
I'd grab some for my dinner, ha!
Do the good use of salmon please. This is so expensive in the UK. I can't afford to buy it.
Oh My God ! 😣😣😣😢😢😢
Is canti
wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you get some to eat or is it against the law?
nice
the dead fish are nutrient for the baby. people are only allow to fish 6 pink salmon per day on harvest season.
Wo wow
Wow!!!!
Wow
In BC we have destroyed so many of our salmon streams and rivers... SPRAYS, LOGGING, OVERFISHING..general lack of concern
I’ll camping there for a whole year
Can you eat them.
Tara na sa alaska mag pakasawa tau sa salmon
Wowwww take me 1 for BBQ tonight 😂
in Alaska they don't eat Salmon's coz they preserved it and respect that's why there a millions salmon in there
People conserve and let them die! 22nd Century Advanced mindset!!!!!
Say what?? As an Alaska resident I can tell you this is pure BS. During the season which lasts from late March through October salmon was on the menu for residents 3 or 4 times a week. We catch our own fish.
BTW, Pink Salmon are the low quality for canning. If you catch them and vook them fresh they are great eating. Chum Salmon, also called Dog Salmon are the lowest quality. Markets now call them Keta Salmon or Silver Bright Salmon in order to fool people into thinking they're getting something good. The native peoples feed them to their dogs. They are fairly good smoked, tho.
Are you kidding me?? Where did you hear that?? The people of Alaska and commercial fishermen harvest millions of pounds of salmon annually!!! They feed it to their sled dogs and use it for subsistence living.

@@perduk1 seeing more canned coho in the past few years which is strange because i didn't think there was much of a commercial fishery for them. ...or maybe they come from another country, i've never picked up a can to check it out.
Yeah, AK residents tend to be stuck on the reds, kings, and halibut, along with hunted game meats. When you're allowed to pick and choose, and can only eat so much, you go for what you like most. ...2 of my friends have developed a taste for pink salmon after years of the usual reds/silvers/kings.
Oh, and I know of a couple of times the fisheries (Ministry of Environment) had fish in a spawning ground area electricuted... they said that there were too many salmon for the spawning grounds.... BS..!!!
I am just watching the video but i don't understand wher is the PEOPLE why they don't catch why they live for die
A missing place millions of salmon sending full support
Will be better if try to get the solution bro...!

We human rush towards consumerism the same way

Culverts have caused untold damage to the salmon runs. They are very destructive and the damage is irreparable.
Yummy

All Hatchery Fish. Duh! They Don't Spawn
data loss stfu all salmon spawn even hatchery fish you dumb ass!
These are wild you dumb fuck!
Soon we ppl will be doing the same for our lives
Tastey
alot of those salmon are just dead
Of course. They are spawning and then die. That's the cycle of a salmon.
digstravel33 the ones that are just lying on the sand, nowhere near the stream.
on the tidelands
Just see them die this is part of conservation.
They die only for their babies
Likee
Meanwhile I spent big bucks to buy frozen one . The gov should take care of them and not just let them die for nothing ….
Salmon die after they spawn. All of them. The government can't change that lol
Commercial boats do catch as many of those as they can. The fish you see here are only the ones that snuck past all the boats and their nets.
Let me go out in a limb and guess that you live in a large city somewhere in really have no idea how nature works! Not f****** dying for nothing where do you think those thousands and thousands of fish came from its from their parents that did the exact same thing ahead of them they always die when they do this there Pacific salmon they do not survive spawning!
god why isn't something done about the culvert to allow passage of fish. this scene is heartbreaking and makes one angry as hell.
wright gregson the stream will still reach its escapement goal anyway, I just wish there was more stream for the fish
Those culverts don't go anywhere good for fish. The other side of the culvert is basically a small body of water + ditches that go nowhere. The runoff you see coming out is mostly minor ground water, it's not a river system.. The barriers covering the culverts prevent thousands of fish from crossing the road where they'll die, rot in a marsh or in parking lot size pools of water. The whole area will smell.
this is incredible !!!!
look at this ......unbelievable....!!!!!!
i see this and am...... amazed!!!!!!
LOOK AT WHAT GOD HAS GIVEN US ..POOR WRETCHED FOOLS....
all of us !!!!! .......
i dont know why he did it ....... but he did...
AND we continue to shit and destroy our planet
The government should help pink salmon bros. Salmon need help
No they don't there are literally hundreds of millions of them hell the annual take between the United States and Russia is over 200 million and The Creeks still look like this.
This will never happen in any Asian countries..
