  • The invasion of Pink salmon or the so-called 'Russian' salmon, has become a huge problem in the north of Norway. This invasive species swims up Norwegian rivers to spawn, then dies and rots in rivers afterward, thus polluting the environment and endangering one of the most precious Norwegian fish - the Atlantic salmon.
In this report we speak to the Norwegian government, explore the anti-Pink salmon trap and also go on a fascinating scientific journey with biologists to the rivers along the Norwegian border with Russia.

How dare those salmon die and fetlize your rivers and Forests. Lol
I understand their invasive but dont blame fish for pollution. My god.

exactly i was like no way they pollute they just replace the dying out atlantic salmon the river provides for itself

I thought this as well. When the fish spawns and dies it's body breaks down and all the nutrients from that fish will nourish the ecosystem of that river. How do these people not know this!? 😮
Messing with nature again. Here in Wales UK our Atlantic salmon numbers have virtually disappeared. About 50 years ago right up until around the early to mid 2000s we had some of the best salmon and sea trout fishing in Europe.
Now people are very lucky to catch a salmon but they are in such small numbers that responsible anglers return the salmon to the river. It is LAW here in Wales.
If a pink salmon is caught then it must be killed immediately and left at the riverbank. Crazy, if it is caught by rod & line and it "has to be killed" then why can't the fisherman take that one home to feed his family. I just don't know with this world anymore!🥴
