    At least I got one thing right. My mindset has generally been that the rest of my training was there to deliver myself ready for my long run.

    I find comfy high stacked shoes helps me with my long run.

      Just hop on the Cherry Creek trail and head south

      The major parks have nice off-road running options: City Park, Washington Park, Cheesman Park. But you gotta get out in the mountains for some trail running if it's possible!
