Great run! It's amazing seeing where all the ideas for later MGS games came from, like freezing the key to make it change shape, the long run up the stairs of the communication towers and the various bosses such as the Hind.
I used this video as a play through since there isn't that many and they're all more than 4 hours, and I have got two things to say. First, you are fast. Second, What a good game! And that ending though. Also, his friend and fan was really the best character he helped him all the way because of his guilt. F in the chat boys!
The amount of times you ignore the codec... Surely they would have thought you died at least once! No: "Snake...? SNAKE? SNAAAAAAAAAAKE!!! Oh sorry you were just on the toilet? My bad..."
I wanted to play through this game again, but to get to the end (the final boss fights against Metal Gear D, Gray Fox, and Big Boss) much faster than normal. Watching your speedrun playthrough was VERY helpful! Thank you so much for uploading!
@@dabearcub i know for a fact they have different music besides one looping track playing the WHOLE FUCKING GAME such as mystery mode or ninja mode so i win smart guy you are right too so quit being mean lmao
BigRig Joe according to MGS4 he barely survived and was kept on life support for years, then he confronts Snake in that graveyard and dies to the FOXDIE virus
Weird how a game from 1990 accidentally predicted how British soldiers would look from 2010 onwards (granted they're not British in this game.) The resemblance is oddly perfect.
Amazing, man... It's so perfect it feels almost like it's the computer doing it all by itself. Have you considered writing a FAQ, walkthrough, or anything about the game? You may be the single person on earth that knows it this well.
Thanks for the info. Gonna try this method, also when you got inevitable alert on the long stairs, does that count towards your final score under the alert mode?
Several times now I've tried to play through this game and I get pretty far and get stuck.. if I recall correctly, last time I concluded that I accidentally killed "Meryl" before meeting her in the ladies room? Did something to make the game unwinnable, anyway.
That's Gustava Heffner , but in the original Japanese MSX2 computer version she is named Natasha Marcova . I still find it weird that they changed her name .
The reason is that Nintendo was too successful in the video market when the first 2 MG games got released . The closest North & South Americas were to getting actually high quality Metal Gear games was to remake them on the Sega Genesis and Sega CD when Sonic the Hedgehog was the *god* of videogames .
Sir, several of the men have reported getting smacked in the head and a strange entity rushing past them!
Great run! It's amazing seeing where all the ideas for later MGS games came from, like freezing the key to make it change shape, the long run up the stairs of the communication towers and the various bosses such as the Hind.
And the swimming while dodging mines which would appear in MGS2, and tailing someone like MGS4.
+Kandriod yes
And bosses ass-sploding

With the master collection out this video is amazing to watch! Especially after getting so lost in that damn swamp xD Good job!

I just bought the MGS Legacy Collection, and i was playing this game, really helpful and Amazing Gameplay.
Following the guy with the green beret takes up half the run.
That mine trick was pretty boss. Props to ya
Thank you for Help with this game it was a hard time!
What a great Big Boss run!
Thanks
I love all the music from this game they use a lot of it in mgs: vr missions
theguyinthere agree, soundtracks of this game so amazing!
You mean the first game, numbnuts.
@@dabearcub NO i mean VR missions you twat they reused the tunes from this game there so there i win
@@theguyinthere VR missions used the sneaking music from the first Metal Gear, not the sequel. Dumb Fuck.

So after MGS3, Peace Walker and Ground Zeros... The ultimate fate of Big Boss is he is killed with a spray can....
makes sense that an ordinary man went down easy like an ordinary man would and the whole quiet falling out a window on fire this makes up for it
BigRig Joe according to MGS4 he barely survived and was kept on life support for years, then he confronts Snake in that graveyard and dies to the FOXDIE virus
Big Boss also had his body reconstructed with body parts taken from Liquid and Solidus.
They killed Venom snake not actual Big Boss if you play five you know what I mean
@@kozrenaissance4581 Venom was killed in the first game. The Big Boss here is the real one.
Great speedrun on Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.
Good work man! Love these
thanks for the video. I used it as a guide and it was to the point being a speedrun
I love that you just punch guards in the face and strut right past them undetected lmao

You're pretty good.
thank you for this video
Great run!
I have the HD collection for the ps3 lol. excellent gameplay btw how long did it take u to memorize all this??
At 5:00 why is the forest looking path different for me when I turn right?
Nvm I figured out I have to follow that guy
Art! How many times did you win the game before reaching this level?
probably 100 times or so I'd guess. But there were many resets and a lot of practice on specific sections, so the total time is even higher.

Still waiting for the 3D remake of this game ;)
me to including the metal gear nes
ehh its pretty close to metal gear solid
@@ramcold02 That version is a massacre compared to this.
@@ramcold02We don't talk about the war crimes that are the NES Metal Gear games .
Nice run. So does one punching the guards make them daze or is that a glitch?
it dazes them for a few seconds, doubt it's a glitch because it's the same in Metal Gear 1 as well. punching them three times kills them.
Thanks for the info. Gonna try this method, also when you got inevitable alert on the long stairs, does that count towards your final score under the alert mode?
yes, it does.
im watching this bcs i want to understand the timeline of metal gear but as fast as i can
my favorite part of MGS
That game needs definitely a Remake
Thx finally beat it
Is there a reason he is taking certain paths through swamps and stuff? Never played this game
+SNOWSTORM Gaming the swamp is actually a maze, the path I take is the only way through. if you step outside it you drown.
Oh okay thanks
It looks about 20-30% faster than the MSX game overall.
This version (PAL PS2) in particular is the fastest version of the game that I know of.
I accidently killed one of the children so i drowned myself in the swamp
never let anyone see that quote out of context
@@CalintaresYeah , that stuff is just messed up .
He better not let that go out of context .
Where is his pistol or uzi 9mm?

she respawns. Either if you get an alert and get rid of it or if you leave the floor and come back
It's just a normal enemy until it enters the bathroom.
LOL you killed Holly 😂 Nice

Oh shit, I've been discovered
Its a shame these cheap bastards couldnt bring this game to us on MSX2 emulation. The sound quality is much better.
