This was an Awsome video. Good to see real world vacuum pulldown. It’s not always a 10 minute nice and easy like u always see on RUclips. Your right when it’s wet and the last guys didn’t dry the system out it makes for a slow process for the next guy. Good on you for best practices. That flame blowout made me jump 👍
Thanks Cory! Thought the oil flame up would be good to keep in the video and keep guys on their toes doing these type of repairs. Plus who doesn't like fire and slow motion. 😆🤙
What did you use to show yow moisture in the system liked it alot
James Toy bluvac micron gauges with the bluvac application
thanks for the video! i got a condenser coil replacement upcoming Wednesday and feel a ton more confident in doing so! thanks again!
Excellent video sir..🤘
Much respect to adding cork tape to improve the original design of the coil. Not many people care to do such things. Slow motion with the “Fire” was sweeet. It does suck when you have a wet system to evacuate .. even with the best rig. Thanks for sharing... peace
Thanks Tc! 🤙
Everyone loves a little fire and slo mo! 😆
How do I find a qualified and honest technician like you where I live?
Thanks for showing why we should use a pipe cutter for the first opening in a system. Now I understand how someone could really be injured by using the torch.
Trapped oil doesn't care weather the system is open which is exactly what happened here. Good for new guys to see. 👍
Glad to see you making videos again Brad. Great work always!
Thanks for watching Vinny! 🤙
It's good to see something other than a Lennox indoor coil leaking.
Got a few of those to change in this development too. It's an epidemic.
@@HVACinSC 😵😵😵
@@HVACinSC Yeah I had a customer on Friday with a 1 year old system and a 2 year old system, both had leaking evap coils. Gotta love Lennox... BTW, awesome work. Good to see a tech do things right. Wish I worked with a tech like yourself.
Great job bro I learn alot from urs videos thank u
Thanks for watching!!
The Blue Jays totally agreed with you on that whole change😎
Blue Jay's? Can't say I have ever seen a Blue Jay in coastal SC. 🤷♂️
👍🏼 As always, an excellent and informative video.
Thanks for watching!
Really nice video brad
Thanks Josiah!
usually see plastic or rubber pads the cond. coil sits on? I thought lennox was a high quality unit, nice repair job!
lennox merit = mexican assembled builder's special.
Awesome never had to replace a condenser coil yet. Good to know how it goes for the 13acx. Thanks for uplodaing!
Thanks for watching!
Great video, man that recovery machine though! I like the "real world" vacuum comment. It can sometimes be hard with existing systems that had poor installation practices, time is key on those! Thanks, bro 👍
Appreciate it brotha! 🤙
It’s odd they didn’t put anything under the coil to keep that from happening, rubbed that whole corner down. Nice fix. I always like those superheated oil flare ups when taking components apart, makes you respect what you’re working with. Good job all around!
Must've been on a Friday... I'm not sure about that time frame, but I believe there are typically plastic stand-offs the coil rests on, but could be thinking of a different brand.
Gotta love when you have to make in field improvements to the manufacturers design so it will last.
Thanks for watching Tom!
For u sweating what tip you use and regulator settings
Depends on the situation. Mine always varies.
Nice job man! 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks Greg!
What did you charge the guy for that job,im curious i need that done to my unit as well and there trying to tell me to buy a new condensor unit all toghther, what do thise condensor coils run by them selves im out of warranty by about 5 months, the 5 year that is.
Sorry, Far to many variables for me to give any prices. I'd suggest getting other estimates from local contractors if you are concerned with what one company is quoting.
I like your thorough vacuums 🧐
Thanks Juan!
How do your Testo's work with the measureQuick app? I still have trouble with mine dropping out or not inputting info at all. Nice tip on the vacuum curve
Thanks!
I very rarely used the MQ app over this summer. I may use it more this fall on my maintenance checks and see if I have the same issues you describe.
Wow I'm surprised that they still make copper coils. I always thought the new coils were aluminum.
Quite a few manufacturers are still making copper tubed condenser coils.
couldn't that rise also be refrigerant in the oil?
Refrigerant is usually removed in the early stages or "Rough Stage" of an evacuation (760,000 microns to roughly 10,000 microns range). At 1,500 microns I was well into the Dehydration Stage. Removing the remaining moisture from the POE oil.
Couldn't the moisture have come from the leak? Even if it didn't go flat, gas flowing by the pinhole would draw air and moisture in.
If you are asking if it is possible? Sure. Is it the likely reason for excessive moisture in this specific situation? No.
The important point I was attempting to make was how to identify moisture and the process of removing it.
No new filter/drier?
Okay, I skipped past the point he said he was going to do it and it looks similar to the original.

It very well could have leaked all the way out u never know
Sometimes u cant get the jerky rig out of a install lol
