    He thanks for the video! I have a question about the tourist visa you mentioned...If I have a passport already I still need a Visa for Brazil or I just make sure I don't stay more than 90 days at a time twice a year???....also you are able to rent a normal apartment like in the video as a tourist or is this more like Air bnb?

    • @TheTravelMoneyGuy
      @TheTravelMoneyGuy  3 года назад +1

      Hey Brian! If you're an American just show up with your passport (not expired) and you're good to go. They will give you 90 days. It you're there close to 90 days and want to stay longer you can extend your stay for 90 more days with some paperwork, the process is in my visa video. And as for apartments, I recommend going the Airbnb route. If you plan on staying for years then there are other options but come with a lot of paperwork and fine print etc

    How can you get an apartment? I’m moving out there for a year so I’ll want a place for that amount of time. How can I find someone or a website that has places showing their offers? How were you able to find yours? Just in person in the street with a sign?
    Let me know please, thanks

    • @TheTravelMoneyGuy
      @TheTravelMoneyGuy  2 года назад +1

      Start on Airbnb then make a cash offer. Option 2 would be go to a building in person and ask the security guard who is renting. Furnished rentals are VERY hard to find outside of Airbnb.

    • @James777921
      @James777921 2 года назад +1

      @@TheTravelMoneyGuy so if the AirBnb was advertising for £1000 a month, I could message and offer say around £850 cash a month? The trouble with Airbnb is that almost every one is booked up and not available for a long period, also have gust policies etc. they also tend to be more on the pricey side, especially during Carnaval time. I think surely my best bet would be try to find a stable rental? It's a tough one. How much can you often knock them down by on average when offering cash on Airbnb?

    • @TheTravelMoneyGuy
      @TheTravelMoneyGuy  2 года назад +1

      You almost HAVE to start with staying in Airbnb, then walk around and find something, or work something out with the landlord. The online options are full of scams and many don't come furnished anyways. You have to start with hostel hotel airbnb then work something out in person somewhere.

    Wow. I clicked on the video thinking $1,000 would be your total cost of living per month. Because that’s why I am moving this year to Brazil from Missouri USA. My previous online research and my Brazilian friends assure me that I can live comfortably on $1,000 a month. You have a great apartment and good amenities but it sounds expensive. That’s what I pay currently for a 3 bedroom house here in Kansas City Missouri USA. I suppose it’s because you are in Rio on the beach. But I’m moving to Brazil this year as a newly retired government employee. I’m hoping on Santa Catarina beaches to keep it under $1,200 a month in total. My Brazilian boyfriend tells me I can! Thanks for the information. Love your apartment and your neighborhood!
