Piezos are so common purely because they're cheap. Played gently, they can sound ok, but as soon as you strum with any vigour, you'll hear that "quack" that is a feature of the piezo sound. A decent, more expensive magnetic pickup will deliver a good sound (especially with some EQ if necessary) and can get loud enough to use in a band without feeding back. I use Shadow SH-145 and Fishman Neo-D pickups, both of which are very good. As Meg says, get to a shop and try out different types to find the one you like best.

Good video but what I can’t find is a description of the different types of ust under saddle pickups Is one better than the other? I’ve seen 3 types Two are solid. one of these is metal and the other appears to be ceramic The third is bendable stranded wire - copper or steel? I guess that makes 4 but after searching for a couple of hours no one explains the difference. All fit directly under the saddle in the grove.

Is Double Transacoustic OS1 or TA K10 pickup....which one would you prefer to install.
Any idea why, after replacing a 9v battery(inside an acoustic) that the tuner light would not come on when pressed, but the tuner works fine?
