Goosepimples can't be manufactured... I had goosepimples both listening to and looking at this endearing singer's expressive rendition of this oh so gorgeous song, delivered with crystal clear diction too. I especially loved his floating pp on the final note, it melted my heart. He feels the words deeply and does what every singer and actor must do, viz inhabit the character's situation; he did this moreover well before he opened his lanryx; I sensed I was going to be in for something special the moment he appeared, preparing for his entry cue. I'd have liked a tad greater feeling of legato, though, which would have made the performance even lovelier - it generally came across as slightly staccato, a great pity. Nevertheless this was a memorable reading.
