@@yungplague5534yeah this is actually modelled off a sandwich from a place called wagyumafia. The guys from Worth It stopped there on their sandwich video, well worth a look as it explains why this works as well as it does. And why they’re serving it like this.
Chef Andy is really a master chef in the kitchen. He is a well-rounded chef. He has different techniques in cooking. He knows how to cook different dishes from different cultures across the globe. He really has this passion to cook and to enjoy his viewers with his mastery, expertise, and the knowledge he shares. ❤
I am so surprised when the bread to katsu ratio is perfect. One of the pros of cooking the food personally and not like when I get it from a restaurant and there is hardly 40% katsu in there.
Hey Andy. I'm from Japan and I really love your Japanese Milk Bread! If you have any left, or may be if you don't but, please make Honey Toast (ハニートースト), which I think your bread would match perfectly (also visually good for videos).
No offense to any of the youtube food content creators, but Chef Andy is a real legitimate chef. He's the real deal. Respect and greetings from India 🙏
Any point of the first clause? It's like you're intentionally trying to be subtly offensive lol. You could have just said "Chef Andy is a real legitimate chef." and that would have been 100x better.
Not to mention that since historical times, I don't remember when, but if I am not mistaken, I got this from Tasting History, Japanese cuisine has always focused on techniques designed specifically to make food Look good first. Since we do infact eat with our eyes first, this is a smart strategy.
It’s also the best for French toasts, the crumb of the bread allows the toast to get really nice and crispy unlike other breads like Texas toast or brioche imo
to be sure the temperature is right with a wooden spoon, the spoon itself would have to be dipped in something (bread crumbs fx) or dirty af! Toast is also a bit too burnt, just saying...
chef andy, you’re genuinely amazing at what you do. the versatility of your skills and the effort you put in to encapsulate the culture and tradition behind every dish really is admirable!!
Ngl if I could chose my last meal it would be that sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese and chicken Alfredo and ribs. All made by this fantastic chef!
Not sure if this is a thing in other countries but in Australia we make curried egg sandwiches by adding curry powder to the egg and mayo and it’s delicious!!
As a Japanese, there's nothing wrong before making other culture's food, as long as you approach it with humility and the willingness to learn instead of arrogance. Many people learn by failing, so even if he attempted first it still would have been fine. As long as he doesn't just attempt to open a restaurant with 0 experience lol.
As a Japanese I think your understanding of Japanese cuisine is very accurate and advanced.
Is it tho?

Food is one of the things that thrive on what would otherwise be called pretentious.
I'm just curious. Why do they cut the edges of the sandwich?
I asked my butcher for a piece of square steak.
He's still not talking to me.
*Proper ration of meat to bun there.*

Watching him cook in professional kitchen is just so pleasing. The way he elegantly and neatly cooked it and plated it. All so beautiful.
Andy back with a banger as usual. Would love to see you whip up a proper Cajun chicken and sausage Gumbo, one of my all time favourite comfort foods.
until he does you should check out isaac toupes' recipe, love that dude
A fellow southern! 💙🙏
@@silvaraceanother toupes fan! His is the recipe I’ve been using for years, hoping to visit his restaurant soon.
Agreed, being from Louisiana
Love how skill-free Cajun food is. Just throw random shit in a pot and serve. It's saved me so much time on meal prep.
i love how calm and gentle he does everything
Definitely a "when I win the lottery I won't tell anyone but there will be signs" moment
Nice
This has to close out the search for the best rendition of a sando ever.
When the residual moisture in the wood bubbles you can fry, thats really smart my guy ty for the trick.
I've always just wet my hand and flicked it towards the hot oil maybe not as sanitary but that's what the hot oil is for
I usually use chop sticks to test that but I never thought about the wooden spoon

That's why he threw out the crust
That bread recipe is one of our absolute favorites. I make that bread at least once a week. Love your channel and your recipes!
