I’ve heard someone say that Disneyland is a park built by a father for his daughters. Disney World is a Resort built by a committee for the masses. I really appreciate your homage to Walt Disney at the beginning there. I cringe when people complain how tiny the Disneyland castle is but you guys did it with respect. Ear hats off to the two of you!
Oh the memories!! I went about 10 yrs ago and watching this just makes me want to go back!! I cried when we walked through the main gate - got so emotional visiting Disney’s first park!! My reaction to the castle was the same - it’s small!!
My wife and I live in Las Vegas, Disneyland is our home park. Love seeing you guys experience it and love the reactions and comparisons!
Watching your vlog brings back so many beautiful memories. I was there for the first time in 1967, I was 9 years old and I fell in love with that Castle. It didn’t seem so tiny back then, lol. Of course after standing next to Cinderella Castle, it is indeed very small. I haven’t been to Disneyland since 1991 I think, and I’d love to go back someday. But thank you for taking me back there. Where California Adventure is now, back then it was just a huge parking lot. Oh, dear, I’m old! Hahahahaha
Lovin this. Hearing you sound so excited by a new park and what is like Disney world and what isn’t! Looking forward to you getting in and around the parks in tomorrow’s vlog.
Bless me for laughing lots when you said cabbage and not cabin!!!
I went there about 20 years ago, stayed in The Castle just over the road from Disneyland. We then drove to Las Vegas which was another experience 😀 great vlog, looking forward to the next.
I've been binge watching your Florida vlogs! Recently found you guys on RUclips, I love you vlogs and love you honesty. I'm going next year to WDW for the first time and I can not wait. I've been to DLP lots and when you walked down main street and the square are so similar and in size! Xx
Great video, Neil and I love your travel videos, just as much as the Holiday vid vlogs. You two usually give great tips, tricks and hints on them. Glad you 2 found the HOV Lane, Neil and I use it all the time when we both are in the same car on the highway. You zoom by the traffic jams.
Remember guys Disneyland is the original WdW is copied from that
Leigh was very excited all you can here are bless him the main street is amazing the shops are great your both like 2 kids picking out what's here and what's at Hollywood studios
Needed to add another comment. I LOVE watching when you discover things. So great.
Just found you guys today.... I have stayed at the Discovery Inn several times - it is budget friendly.... the staff is very nice and helpful(they were helpful to me even when I wasn't staying there)....I give you all the credit for handling the crazy California traffic... I live in Vegas and fly to a smaller airport then shuttle to DL... Looking forward to your future vlogs !
Love, love, love you two. Went to Disneyland a few years ago,so reminiscing but none of them beats Walt Disney wor ld . L oving your vlogs, watching them all.
The visitor toll pass from Orlando airport was brilliant in November. Free to sign up and then discounted tolls. I would always use that in future if we were going to Orlando international airport.
We don't use kettles much in the US. Although I bought one last year to heat up squirrel/opossum formula, and now I've started enjoying making tea with it too!
Thank you for the time and amazing effort you put into your videos.
Disneyland is the original and will always be my favourite. Have to remember that all parks looks like Disneyland, not the other way around 😉
Love it! I get a little chuckle every time you say chipotle (chi-po-tlay) 😄
Can’t wait to visit there! It does remind me alot of DLP only they have a big castle!
My Six Favorite Things at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California: It's a Small World (Attraction, 1966-Present), Disney Afternoon Avenue (Land of Disneyland Park in Fantasyland, 1991-1992), Parade of the Stars (Parade, 2000-2005), Believe...There's Magic in the Stars (Fireworks Spectacular, 2000-2004), Disney Princess Fantasy Faire (Show, 2006-2012) and 90's Nite (Disneyland After Dark, 2019)
The hotel looked a great location for disneyland. Those tacos looked delicious.Cant wait for the next upload 🙂👍🇱🇷
Wonderful video! My husband and I are 22 and live aboard our sailboat preparing to sail around the world. maybe we will cross paths
Great vlog guys. On my bucket list to try California. It did very much remind me of Paris. Although much prefer the castle at Paris, it's very pretty and you can go in the dungeon, see the dragon and Luke you mention go upstairs. I'm sure knowing you two! You will be also making a trip there at some point.
Cant wait to see more of California xx
As others have said in America we generally use the microwave to heat our water for tea. If there is a coffee machine in the room, like a Keurig, you can just heat your water for a cup of tea through the machine. Just open and close it like you were going to put a pod in. It will give you hot water for your tea that way. We have a kettle at home though.
Soo excited for this part in the vlogs.... DL is my home park🥰... I love it.... welcome to my home state 🤗... Nick answered your kettle question... Americans just aren’t big tea drinkers in general... we drink a cup here and there but mostly it’s iced tea... we are all coffee drinkers lol
I drink tea as well, no coffee. I always have to find a place for tea in the AM.
My favourite thing about Disneyland is The Indiana Jones ride, it is fantastic. That's the one thing missing about Florida. Have fun, I'm loving your vlogs.
Alamo is the best when it comes to tolls , we did 4 weeks last summer miami the keys back up to Orlando and tolls in and around orlando on toll roads ... 30 pound .x
Have a great time in calafoina. I can't wait to see more vlogs
Loving the vlogs. Getting ideas for our 2022 Florida trip. Can’t believe you not been to DLP we are going 5th time in November. Christmas is amazing there. Bit of advise wrap up warm.
looking forward to your Cars Land visit :)
They board planes like that due to weigh balance, they load the luggage(so the back is heavier) if they then load the back with people first the plane will tip, hence load the front to balance it. Learnt this from a pilot of an Airbus a320,lol x
Love seeing Disneyland it’s been such a long time since we were there, I think it was January 1998 lol hope you had fabulous time in LA x x
I remember when my English sister in law went to live in America she couldn't find a kettle in the shops anywhere. Don't know if that's the same nowadays. We used to take a travel kettle with us that had dual voltage. Although you can't roll them up!
I know the front of the plane is upper and premium but it would make more sense to board the back first and there would be fewer holdups
👍
Disneyland was the first Disney park I visited and I loved it. Cars land and the cars rides where brilliant. Enjoy X X X
My only Disney trip was to Disneyland in May 1980, during a month long US trip, when I was almost 6 and I loved it! It was virtually empty, all the characters were charming and Chip’n’Dale helped me up when I slipped on the wet pavement when running towards them. They then became my heroes. I cost my parents a fortune during our visit as I’d ask for treats then give them away to the characters. We went on Space Mountain and I remember the warning signs when we were queuing but on we went. My Dad was in the front with my Mum & I behind holding onto all the bags. H&S wasn’t as strict back then! 😬🤦♀️I still remember the darkness and hanging on for dear life. We got off and my Dads legs were like jelly and we were all in shock!😂 I’ve not been since but my parents took my brother to WDW when he was a teen and then my Mum took him, his wife & their two kids to WDW last summer. My niece was just 5 and my nephew 2.5 so they had a wonderful time and still talk about it, so lots of happy memories were made. When everything settles down, I think they’d love to go again and there’ll be more ride options with the kids being that bit older. Watching your vlogs makes me want to go too!
Loved Leigh’s comment, it’s tiny 😂😂
I stayed at the Hyatt down the street....and when I checked in, they asked me if I would like a Disneyland fireworks view!!! YES
Boil a mug of water in the microwave to make tea - that’s how I do it ...
Enjoying your vlogs..look forward to watching each day. I like the details and prices you let us know.
Coffee makers are only in the more expensive rooms. Like $300-$700 a night for Disney properties and Vacation suites.
We love to fly delta as my husband is 6ft2 and as we fly economy they have the best leg room for him we fly from Heathrow and get indirect flights and then we get more points so one day we can upgrade our seats for another trip to Walt Disney world !
Very similar to DLP but smaller 😂 my face castle is the one in DLP because it's much more detailed- yet to go to Shanghai though
Welcome to California! Wow, LA driving looks pretty bad!
This looks so good I really want to go,I'm really enjoying these vlogs they are so brilliant it's so good to see all different hotels villas experiences so enjoyable on a cold British night lol ,I love dlp I think California looks so mu h better though ,but I have to say dlp most loveliest castle Indiana Jones is a rollercoaster, but they have crushes coaster and ratatouille ride so good 1😘😘😃😃😃
I love Disney xx
You can always try to request a coffee maker in your room & my experience is, they always provide one. 😁
I have been to Los Angeles, but I have not been to Disneyland, only Disney World and that’s been a long time ago. I have never flown in a plane that had TV screens, probably because most of the flights I’ve taken since those have existed in planes were too short. I saw in your little hole on the supermarket that you had some Driscolls raspberries, just like I do in my refrigerator right now. I have them to put on granola.
To walk where Walt walked would be dream......what I'd like to know is, where's all you stuff. I'm sure you had more than carry on from the UK???
PS, these blogs are getting me through some pretty dismal days so thank you both immensely for that. Oh, and my hero of a husband saved someone's life yesterday, so yeah, every day is best! I 😘😘😘
@@tamara8349 Yesterdays? I thought I did....I'm iff to watch it again 🙈
@@tamara8349 I'd missed a vlog...villa! 🤪
You’ve answered your own question about why you don’t have coffee/tea service in your room. You’d need to pay for a pricier hotel room to get that option. You are both adorable and I love your vlogs!
It’s like Disneyland Paris ..and make a note if you are going there in the future it is very expensive in the park😊
The Indiana Jones ride at DLP is more of a roller coaster and wild! Much prefer the version at Disneyland with the rolling ball x
I fly Delta almost every single week!
Hi boys wow wat an adventure ur having it all looks beautifull this holiday must of cost a few thousand pounds but u av worked so so hard to get where u r now so u deserve it boys I luv watching u every day u both brighten my world up I feel so happy when I've watched u 2 any way take care boys and I will see u both tomorrow web I cum home from work look forward to ur next vlogg X X X X
I love Indiana Jones, I went on it in Paris when I was a kid. Its actually the same layout as Dinosaur!!!!
Yip your right about toll charges with Alamo, used it last year. Been stung in the past with “dollar car rentals” going through a unmanned toll. Think they charged me $15 admin charge and the toll cost that was $1.25 🤢
The Indiana Jones ride in DLP is nothing like that - it is an upside down rollercoaster! 😬
💖💖💖8lanes😧didn't realise der were I'm enjoying all d comparisons v.useful✨✨✨
Great vlog guys. Welcome to Delta airlines. Nobody walks in LA. you could probably find places with a kettle on Airbnb or VRBO or HomeAway but they definitely cost more than what you were paying for that place. At any rate keep up the good work love the content.
Thank you for watching. Its so much appreciated. Xx
It's like rocket fuel 😂😂😂😂
Hehe 😁
What??? How NICE!
Superb - looks lots like DLP
I live on the west coast so Disneyland was my first Disney park. Great video. I hate toll roads, France is the worst.
We loved Disneyland. Really glad we went
What’s the song title being played when your in the plane ? I love it 😀😀
You need to try Delta Upper via Virgin :)
Yay! Disneyland - I'm going to be there in Dec this year! Can I ask, how long was the walk from your motel to the supermarket please?
15 mins
last visited here in 1997 and would love to go again. We are due to visit Disneyland shanghai on the way back from our Australia trip in November, however, if its still recommended not go to china we will comeback via LA and visit disneyland instead
Shanghai disneyland is incredible! The technology puts the others to shame, hopefully you will get to visit it! The virus should be gone by then hopefully.
Congrats to 14k guys!!! and also I think if I went to Disneyland California too even tho I haven’t been I would compare it to Florida WDW I just love Florida too much haha!!! great vlog as always guys ❤️🐭🏰
I am re-watching all these months later and it seems so incredible to hear Leigh mention “the virus in China”. Little did we know...
It seems like. Another world away even though it was this year
@@TheLodgeGuys this year needs to be over.
Indiana Jones in dlp is a coaster x
Most hotels have “kettles” (coffee/tea makers) but you stayed in a budget hotel so you pay what you get. 🙁 It’s a shame because there are other hotels sooo much better. I guess you will have to visit us again. YEAH!👍🏻👏
You guys are funny. I live in Anaheim around 10K from the park. There is an Italian Resturant in California Adventure that is really good. You will need a reservation. If you have American Express Platinum or Gold they have a promotion at Tortilla Joes in Downtown Disney spend 100 get 25 back. Since your in Anaheim we have some good Mexican Food that if your foodies would love, plus they don't have Disney prices.
If you like my wife and I can meet you guys up for a drink. Feel bad for you that you had to fly into LAX.
American here: Hotels don’t have kettles as Americans as a rule don’t use them. I don’t know any family or friends with one. Why we don’t is a mystery to me when everywhere else in the world uses them.
Remember that your in the first Disneyland
We loved it more than we thought we would. Would love to go back one day
Are you guys going to Universal Studios while in LA ? We went on our honeymoon a few years ago and enjoyed the studio tour which was a like the back lot tour that used to be at MGM ( now Hollywood studios) in Orlando. Having visited Universal and Islands of Adventure last April they feel very different to each other.
Yes we went to universal. Video in a couple of days
You flew over my house!!
You can buy something to wear and then wear it on the plane ! 😝
Indian jones in Disneyland Paris is worse than that your head hits of the side all the way round and there’s a loop in it
I hope that hotel wasn’t very expensive haha
That flight takes as long as we go to Lanzarote and we dont have tvs
Where do you fly from ? Its only about 4.5 hours or 5 for us to get to lanzarote
30:50 that's not club 33 you can see it with the next edit on the door
Buy and check a bag!
i hope i sit next to you next time as i have 4 kids and regularly take 5 under 10 years old with me lol
WHAT......?????? Never flown on Delta before!!! Oh my gosh...I was starting to think you were Americans
I feel very confused with how the tolls work 🤯
Uve got to experience Disneyland paris to leigh and nick ,another one off the Disney list then 👍c'mon nick please book
14k subscribers whoooopie 💝💝💝🙊🙊🙊
🏰🙋🏻♂️💁♂️
I thought Disneyland was Disneyland lol
no dianeyworld is florida disneyland is california
@@TheLodgeGuys Ahhhhh... there's me thinking its all the same. Well, really it is lol.
lol because Americans live off coffee ..... ive tried to enjoy tea and i just cannot .... LA traffic looks worse than orlando traffic yikes!
Tea is much more refreshing, we drink more of that back home but we do like coffee too
Don't dis Disneyland, it's the original, it's Walt's park. Magic Kingdom is a copy of Disneyland, the only reason WDW is so large is because people snapped up the land around Disneyland and they couldn't expand.
If you watch the whole thing and today's vlog I don't think we dis it in the slightest. But..... If we wanted to dis it..... We would 😂👍❤️
Tofu is not vegan.
Oh. Didnt realise
Sorry to contradict, but tofu IS vegan.
@@traceywilcox7154 Tofu farmers kill loads of animals to keep the crop safe so it is not purist vegan.
Delta and Virgin are the same company.
no they aren't delta own 49% of virgin
If only we’d know that those few people you guys saw with mask would be an every day occurrence just a month or so later.
Yes 😥
My prediction is 50k subscribers by the end of 2020
