- Amelia is diagnosed with a rare genetic syndrome known as Apert syndrome. At birth, her hands and feet were fused together due to a mutation of the tenth chromosome. After a surgery that gave Amelia toes and fingers she is now learning to grab and open objects. Amelia wants others to know that if you want to be her friend you just have to play nicely together

I adore how she speaks softly, quietly about her love for dinosaurs, and then she just begins loudly roaring😂. She’s super cute!
(Whispers)“I do not have Apert syndrome”
(Whispers back) “Yeah, I know. I just told him” 😂
That was the cutest thing!!! 🤣
They’re adorable!!
Jesus loves you all have a nice day 😊 Remember that Jesus is coming back very quickly, please turn to Him before it is too late ❤️

When I first found your channel the comments were already turned off and I always thought that was good because I know how mean people can be on the internet. But after seeing it turned back on and how amazing your community is, it's really great that they were turned back on. Amelia and her family seems amazing
People are never mean on this page...they never were...it had something to do with children being involved...at first we could comment
It was always kind comments to videos in this channel even before.
So Im glad it is turned on again.
@@nonniewatson4561 Yeah it was because RUclips turned off comments for all videos intended for children in order to protect them.
~:~
I was always surprised how nice ppl were to each other on SBSK. I wonder why that is? Too bad they cant be nice on all channels or better yet, all over the world.
Amelia and her sister are just precious! What a good, well adjusted family.
saddly when you scroll the comments to the end sometimes there's either ignorant people who say ignorant things or plain mean people :|
These parents need to write a book on parenting.
@Ninjordo4634 Why?
to lead any other ppl wrong?
0:32 sure they do...
whole heatedly agree. love baby. I grew up with a sister who is still trapped in her body. these parents are good ones. one's i look up to. the thing that weirds me out the most is the host, but that's a completely different conversation. I would buy their book, 100%
@@RedLipstick19 ?
Love how much emphasis the parent’s put in letting Amelia try new things! Amelia even said herself that it’s important to her that she try first. I see so many parents of children without syndromes who don’t understand how valuable that is.
Mom's positivity is contagious and Dad's pride in his daughters warms my heart ❤ What a sweet family!
I hope Amelia continues to pursue music/singing! She clearly has natural ability, and she matched pitch SO well even when Chris was off tune 😂 very impressive for a kid her age!
Seconding this! Very impressive
She intentionally slowed down the cadence of the song too but was still singing in time
for real I thought the same thing!!!
You beat me to it. Amelia is definitely musical, Chris not so much (sorry).
Yeah her sense of timing is crazy good for a kid that age.
The row your boat Dubstep was Epic!
hilarious
The best Remix ever
Aight real talk the way she changed the rhythm of row row row your boat amd stayed on beat she’s got a natural music connection! I’m studying to teach music and it made my heart sing
her soul is amazing
She's definitely got some natural musical talent.
Amelia is so gosh darn cute, especially in those glasses! Also, when is her single "Row row row your boat" coming out on spotify?! It's a total jam. My favorite part is "MERILY MERILY MERILY MERILY!"
ikr?!? so precious!!
Stop the cap 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The best cover of Row Row Row Your Boat I have ever heard ❤
She should be a soundcloud rapper ong
“I don’t have any syndrome silly goose”
That was so cute😂
her soul is great and the parents are actually annoyed and ashamed i can see it. they don’t really understand.
@@splash4890 You are talking nonsense.
@@splash4890 what do you mean? They don’t seem annoyed or ashamed. Maybe they look that way, but it’s most likely because they’re newer parents. Kids can be tough to relate to or entertain as an adult, so a lot of parents look sarcastic or annoyed when they’re actually just trying their best. I mean Amelia seems like a completely normal kid, I don’t even see why they would be annoyed, it’s not like Apert Syndrome made her into a different person
@@splash4890 couldn't be more wrong
"How would you describe Amelia?" "Burpy."
Ah, the joy of sisterhood.
Amelia: “ROOAAAAARRRRRRR”

Amelia: chillin on the couch just eatin a Graham cracker 😂❤️

This is absolutely the cutest family I have ever seen
What a great family! The love and silliness they share just shines through the screen.
How are these comments so embracing, yet RUclips ounce felt them deemed inappropriate for their platform… we love you Chris for everything you do, and especially love everyone around the world
They didn't deem the comments here inappropriate, they had a sweeping policy change that deactivated comments on any channel that features children prominently. Of course, they didn't apply that policy consistently and unsurprisingly allowed larger channels that brought them a larger profit to keep their comment sections.
Im so glad you won the battle to get these comments back on! Shes so happy!!
I'm a mom too and I know how helpful it is to your sanity when you are able to laugh with your kids. The kids' mom is amazing. Her spirit is light and her smile is infectious and it's great that their dad looks so devoted to his girls. What a beautiful family and kudos to the parents for raising a super confident 4 year old. 💜💜💜
I just want to say that, as someone who works with a huge variety of people this channel has taught me so much about how to interact with people who have a wide array of different abilities! I love knowing I can connect with anyone no matter if they’re verbal or not or in a wheelchair or not! Thank you so much
Big same
My nan has the kind of dementia where her muscles stop working, so she cant speak
Thanks to this channel i have learned how to interact, and that when it comes down to it, she is no different from anyone else.
Thus deserves to not be interrupted when she vocalizes and treated just like everyone else.
Everyone deserves to be loved and respected all the same.
Ditto, it's so helpful!!
This guy is so good with kids. I feel like it's a special talent; I'm completely clueless interacting with them. I could never be a teacher or do anything like this.
Just try to tap into your inner child and it's easy. They just like to be treated with love and play or be silly. I felt the same way before I had my kids but I quickly learned how to connect with them.

My nephew is almost 18 months old and has Apert Syndrome. He is still waiting on the surgery for his hands and feet.
Amelia is so adorable and shows me how much my nephew is capable of. ❤
Good luck for your nephews surgery
Best wishes to your nephew!
With my stiff arthritic fingers, I have difficulty opening my mail, and also opening cereal boxes and pretzel packages!
I can and do relate!
God bless this family!
I can already see her dyeing her hair every crazy colour when she's like 17 or so
I think she could make an awesome punk rock lead vocalist
She could be a rock Taylor Swift, she's already started sharing her music! 🎶
lol I love the moment when you're playing LEGO and she goes to get the nail clippers. Chris' face is like uuuhhhhhh and he says "gonna clip your nails a little?"
so precious
Amelia turns on a dime, doesn't she? She's so funny!
Every kid is different, whether or not they have a syndrome! So true. And all kids with a pincer grasp ability pick out the marshmallows out of lucky charms 🤣 Go Amelia! I love your glasses!
Jesus loves you all have a nice day 😊 Remember that Jesus is coming back very quickly, please turn to Him before it is too late ❤️
Right? The marshmallows are the best part. I picked them out too. She is super adorable and I think she will be a singer when she gets older. A great family.
all of the families you post on here are amazing but this family right here seems like the absolute best household for a child with a disability to be raised. amazing.
I am floored by these parents! I'm sure we're not seeing the tough times, but they seem to take joy in as much as they can. Very inspiring!
I always wanted to comment on the the old videos when the comments were off what you do is amazing and inspirational
This kid is an absolutely wonderful kid. I can tell she is a kind-hearted person, and welcome to the SBSK page. We all will be here to support you and show you love here in the comments. Keep being yourself Amelia!
Love,
Liam
WOW. Okay, I was *NOT* expecting this video to just cut to little Amelia throwin' down some beats only to crank out her very own rendition of Row Your Boat! But I loved every second of it and now I can't help but think she's literally gonna become a famous DJ someday!🤩😎😝
2:52 Amelia eating snacks in the back is such a mood 😭
Such great parents! They seem like really fun, cool, genuinely nice people
Amelia is flippin' adorable! Her sister and her parents are super beautiful too. Such a good example of no matter how different people are everyone is equally as beautiful and amazing 💜
Beautiful family, and such loving and kind parents. Such happy and polite kids! Looks like an incredibly loving family and an amazing environment for kids to grow up in.
Since I started watching this Channel four years ago I learn a lot from this channel and how to treat someone with disabilities
What a cute couple of girls. It’s lovely to see such positive attitudes to “little differences”.
I myself have a mental illness and have been watching your videos for a long time. Thank you for making this happen, thank you for being a light in this world. Thank you for teaching me about my own prejudices against myself and others in this world, one step at a time we can change and grow to be better!
Thank you very much, Amelia!!! You made me smile. You are capable of wonderful things. Many blessings to this family and to SBSK!
God sure knew who to give Amelia to! Her parents and sister are amazing!🥰
I love your videos! My daughter was born with craniosynostosis and we didnt have access to a community like this on the internet to learn more about each families stories with children born with a syndrom or just born with some type of unique struggle. She is now 25 years old and happily married. She is a remarkable young woman whom I cherish and am very blessed to have as my daughter. Keep making these great videos. They are so wonderful! All my Love to you guys! 🤗🤗🤗💜💜💜
I hope she never stops singing, her pitch is so so spectacularly good! Especially for such a little girl. I also love her dinosaur dress, I still wear one :)
There is a lot of joy, laughter, and silliness in that household. I hope they will treasure that forever!
She seems like a delight, I can already tell she's gonna be a great person when she gets big
She already is a great person
I love your channel so so much and it’s very close to my heart by I have two brothers with Wolf Hirrschorn Syndrome and every year for the past two years I’ve organized a Rare Genes Day to show the world that everyone matters!!
That's a very nice attitude of you!
The Parents, they've clearly educated themselves heavily and they love both their daughters unconditionally. It's breath taking ♥️
And Amelia is so spunky and funny and I love her so much.
1 minute into the video and i can already say that Energetic is the perfecr definition for Amelia!
Such a beautiful thing to see a happy family like they are ❤
Her and her sister appear very close that is special bond that can’t be broken because they both have such wonderful parents
I LOVED THIS VIDEO! Awesome job Chris and the family. To the family, welcome to sbsk family and I enjoy this video. Plus I went to Boston Children’s hospital when I was child and had operations on my feet and wrists. I just want to let you know! Chris, I love seeing kids videos especially when you play with them Keep up good work.
You’re brilliant together you’re going to help each other in ways that no person could ever imagine
She's adorable and she's like any other kid I've seen. Tons of energy and no sign of slowing down.
This entire family seems so loving and fun! Each member is so lucky to have the other ones. Sending so much love!
I love how genuinely positive Amelia's mom is about her differences, also enjoyed Amelia's sick DJ and singing skills
0:41 lol the way she said "Burpy" XD so cute 🥺
Even though I don’t have Apert Syndrome, Amelia with her blond hair and random noises, reminds me a LOT of me when I was a kid.
Thanks for making and posting this video. It’s luminous in so many ways, and filled with love!
Been following Amelia and her family on social media for years. I love the relationship Amelia and her sister have
This melted my heart since second 1. So glad comments are back, it's important to can express tangible support to people! A huge hug to Amelia.
Now I have a new favorite SBSK fam!! Loved this video so much. Big hugs Amelia and family!
CHRIS look at you with the different camera angles. Happy to see you doing new things and so happy to see so much content come out of SBSK.
Who knew there was THIS many amazing people In the world! Nice job!🎉
You're one of the kindest people I've ever seen. I wish there were more people like you with access to this large of a platform
not only is this sbsk so amazing because people with conditions have community and are able inform and teach people without conditions so much. BUT ALSO chris and many of the parents who are interviewed often display absolutely beautiful mirroring and parenting techniques. and in that way the channel is even more of a gold mine, because it is educational on that level as well.
This channel is such a gem! What a personality haha! Inspiring for me today, needed it 🤘🤘
The holding hands is SO sweet!
I can’t believe She only 4! She talks so well & super smart!! Both of these sisters are the cutest little girls! Their parents are amazing as well! Love this family’s energy ❤️
What an amazing pair of parents. I love how determined Amelia is and I'm so excited for her to start kindergarten! She's going to be a real treat in class. Sending many good vibes to this beautiful family! Thank you for sharing your story with us!
Amelia is a very good singer for her age. Her voice will be incredible when she’s grown up!
Thank you Chris for spending time with this awesome family! Their two beautiful girls were fun to watch. I hope that the girls continue to love and support one another long into adulthood. Amelia has an infectious spirit and I found myself smiling throughout the entire video.
Such cute little girls and simply amazing parents! Thank you Chris and Alyssa for doing these videos and showing us these beautiful families!

I love how absolutely sweet your family is. Amelia, I hope you know how lucky you are to be able to grow up in a family that truly embraces all of our differences and shows you that uniqueness is absolutely something to be proud of. What a happy, loving family. Those little girls are lucky to have such great parents- and vice versa!

She is such a bundle of joy! Much love to her and her family! :)
Seeing this beautiful happy family made me feel happy. Thank you Chris for introducing us to Amelia and her family! She has such a fun and energetic personality.
Man we all need a little bit of Chris’ spirit in ourselves to make this world a little better. It’s so great to see your videos and all the amazing people, whose voice you’ve amplified.
These two little girls have such good parents, I'm so happy for this family!
I LOVE the mom's attitude and approach to differences. It's so important to help them realize their differences are AWESOME and to be proud! I'm going to start using that same language when talking about differences.
I have been following Amelia & the fam on Instagram and fb, even before I found your first interview with her mom. Now to revisit her and see her so animated brings my heart so much joy!!!
I have so much love for this channel
Absolutely precious! The smiles of your entire family are so contagious. I can feel the love halfway around the world ❤️
Amelia is so adorable and the parents are amazing. I’m so glad the comments are back on. I missed the wonderful community so much
Both sisters are SO CUTE!! i love how close and supportive they are of eachother! So fun to grow up with a bestfriend
I can definitely attest to the dad’s advice on treatment I was born in 1984 and sister in 1978 and very few treatments available for cranio syndromes
What an adorable little girl!! Thank you for sharing her story and her families with us❤️
I love her vocabulary, it seems like she gets a lot of it from her mom and some may just be her own thoughts.. .she has a great family!
Beautiful family with wonderful personalities. She is just to adorable.
Chris is amazing for bringing awareness to different syndromes and helping to bring acceptance.
I love this family!!! I’m a single mum to 2 amazing girls and we have a crazy funny house too! My eldest has Asperger’s, ADHD, Dyspraxia to name a few. I’m bipolar and my youngest has dyslexia and hyper mobility. My girls are 18 and 19 now and they love the way I raised them as it’s made us extremely close and we are even more crazy now! Don’t ever change the way you guys are with each other, cos it works and creates a very close family unit ❤️
I can’t love enough how the family celebrates Amelia’s differences. After some trials in my own life I have come to have a strong belief in the power of looking for silver linings, in seeing the beauty in things that are hard or different, etc. and that is exactly what they are doing. We can choose how we frame things in life and that shapes everything. They are framing things with joy and acceptance and from there a child can grow so easily because they have a strong foundation of confidence in themselves and love for themselves. Bravo.
What a precious family! Beautiful, sweet parents with two so beautiful, gorgeous daughters. And I am so happy the comments are back!
I love this girl. I’ve followed her on Facebook for a while. Their whole family is lovely and supportive!
The mother seems like such a wonderful and bright woman, absolutely lovely! What an amazing and cute family! ❤
It makes me so happy to see your comments have been turned on once more after all this time!
I've been checking every month or so since the day they were shut to see whether or not things were reverted back to how they should be.
