It seems like the contract type work you’ve been doing is working out well for you. And the opportunities to travel and meet new people is great! Just some general thoughts in regards to owning a tree service, you can run a smaller operation with less overhead, less stress, etc. and still do very well. Not every tree service has to be a “do everything” type operation with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment. Unless that was the goal of course. Bid on the jobs you want, and don’t hesitate to turn down jobs that might be better suited to a larger outfit. Find your niche. 🌳
That is where i'm at. Just setting up as a 2/3 man band. Minimum machinery = minimum hassle and minimum overheads. Great video and love the 'mandles' with double socks :) Can I come and work with you two?!?
Nice truck Jake! Keep Randy in all of your videos. You two work together so well and it makes the show fun to watch. You take care of each other which is great.
You and Mandal Randall are an absolute hoot together! I love the videos with y’all together. Great job, Jake! It was a little nail biter there for a few but you’re careful and being a bit scared keeps one aware.
You guys have such great chemistry. And that is worth everything. Being able to have fun at work means everything and it gives so much for us watching. Thanks!
My husband and me, (This is Darinda, Garland’s Wife 😊 ) Both of us are so very very proud of you for buying yourself ❤ a genuine work truck!! You have needed a work truck ever since you started climbing trees! You may not be 100% sold on it right now, and that’s OK. But here, very soon you will be sold on it. You didn’t say if it’s four-wheel-drive or not. We don’t buy any any work truck for our logging operations, unless it is four-wheel-drive. And not only 4 Wheel Dr., but also we have installed lockers, front and rear all the way around. All the way up to our, Ford F-750…………
I lived in Enumclaw for 15 years logging and doing tree removals. Those firs have a fungus root rot. They are all or almost all infected. 2nd growth is esp susceptible.
All bee keepers are very centered folks. The good Lord put the bees on this earth for a special reason and the bees do a tremendous job and we get to enjoy the honey ( fruits)of their labor.
I saw those girls that do the axe competitions wear steel mesh socks in case they miss the log and hit their feet...socks of mail, now I believe Randall could rock those!!
In the saw shop the other day for some gear when the new 88 sucked me up like a magnet. Not your everyday tool grab but having the right tool for the job is priceless.
Jacob, well done with the toolbox on wheels. A climber of your caliber really don't need a bucket truck. Just another tool to maintain and if your not an expert truck mechanic, than it could cost more than what you would likely want to spend. I need a truck like that😁
I'll take a size 12 pair of "Mandals " with steel toes with all season tread and of course personally autographed by 8 pack and double stack! You guys kill me with your banter ,it makes for a good show! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
@@robsimons1163 throw line average strength is around 500lbs,enough strength to be able to use my lanyard for good work position for comfort with confidence. Still very much the weakest part of my system but I can trust it to hold my body weight (NOT as priority). Also always have throw line on site.
great job ! just great how safe you work! anything at height you have to be so safe to prevent any type of injury! especially leaners! nice take down! keep up the great jobs!
For climbing situations I have concerns about having to bail, I put my lanyard system on a panic snap, so I can bail out intentionally even with the lanyard under pressure. Regarding that biner breaking at 1200, I would keep in mind this only applies to situations where the tie in can take it, AND the structure of the tree you are in wont crush you when loading your system with so much weight. Assuming all that goes well, you are still dealing with the rope stretch, and all that force being released suddenly. I had a situation, also a tree hung up in another, though much lower to the ground with 24" oak trees, with a lot of force suddenly released and suddenly stopped. While I was expecting something to happen, it was far more violent than I expected, even too fast for gravity to swing me out of the way, and somehow caught my pinky in the wrong place. Broke the tip of my finger and popped the pad. Didn't even know about it till I saw blood on the tree and remembered a tug I felt as things were happening. Just saying, always be cautions when large forces are suddenly released or stopped. You might want to get a biner rated for 25 to 50 ish. That would be enough strength for work positioning without requiring dangerous levels of force to break.
Love all your content, energy, and knowledge about trees man, however can you please consider putting your shorts on a separate Playlist, makes watching and finding your long real videos a pain.
I was cutting a dead tree the other day when i realized that i was wearing slides. I went and put on my boots pretty quick. I was also wearing shorts. Probably not smart. I am not an expert by any means, but stuff happens to everyone. I knew a guy that had been using saws since he was a kid, and he cut into his leg, at the knee just bucking firewood. Love the content. Im not a tree guy, i just find your channel therapeutic. Stay safe guys!
If you dont want anything sliding around in the back, linex the floor and sides of the “bed”. We ended up painting the floor and sprinkled playground sand in the wet paint. Makes it super grippy. I have a few totes in mine and they dont move an inch going down the road.
Awesome video man! And so hilarious watching how you and Randy work together 💯 Let me know if you want to come join us on some work here in northern Norway sometime
have you seen those Jetta conversions that turn the cars into a two-seater "ute", it has a little bed in the back and a cab that looks like a tiny pickup, smaller than a Mazda b series .
Good work. Very good work. Keep that 881. I bought one because I WANTED IT. Didn't need it. But I use that saw on a lot of contract jobs, guys would rather pay me than buy the saw.
Our dream team!!! You and Randy..... We're ready for some Randy isms and more laughs. Love you guys cause this never looks like work! Even though it is😊

Great vid I think Randy’s socks were still clean at the end of the day 🤣👊 love to have that 880 got a couple of 660s but think it be cool to have the grandad don’t need it either but why not

I love listening to the chatter between you two, it could be a RUclips channel on its own. 😅
Randy is a great co-host, his sponsor reads are so natural 😊
You two are comedic gold; just funny as hell. What I appreciate even more is that neither of you lose focus on the job and it's inherent risks.
this is the best partnership since tango and cash
Nice truck Jake! Keep Randy in all of your videos. You two work together so well and it makes the show fun to watch. You take care of each other which is great.
Randy is a blast
You and Mandal Randall are an absolute hoot together! I love the videos with y’all together. Great job, Jake! It was a little nail biter there for a few but you’re careful and being a bit scared keeps one aware.
Glad to hear you go to church . God is good.
You guys have such great chemistry. And that is worth everything. Being able to have fun at work means everything and it gives so much for us watching. Thanks!
Keep the cutting with Randy videos coming.
Is Randy wearing socks and sandals? If yes, I love that guy even more.
Randy bo bandy !!
Mandels
Birkensocks
To make him feel more ‘boss’ tell him an English naturalist/tree professor by name of Oliver Rackham, famously rocked socks and sandals!!
So THAT'S where Sandlewood comes from. 😄

Hey Jake hire Randy always he's a good guy and so funny you're videos are fun with him 😂 I love your work man keep going.
That was a real pretty stump and that saw is nice. You should definitely consider keeping that old beauty
I wouldn’t give that saw away lol 😂 it’s wayyyy too nice 👌
J & R Tree Service... Jake & Randy make such a great team!
But if you both have bucket trucks... You could be Twin Scoops Tree Service. 🤣
Love the duo, it really makes your already good videos just that much better.
I lived in Enumclaw for 15 years logging and doing tree removals. Those firs have a fungus root rot. They are all or almost all infected. 2nd growth is esp susceptible.
I LOVE how Randy legit shows up to the job site in freaking birkenstocks!!! What an absolute boss!!!!
Its super cool to see you guys laughing and enjoying the whole time working. Most people don't get this doing desk-job
Yesss new guilty of treeson video
All bee keepers are very centered folks. The good Lord put the bees on this earth for a special reason and the bees do a tremendous job and we get to enjoy the honey ( fruits)of their labor.
Congratulations on the new truck! Make good use of it!
I saw those girls that do the axe competitions wear steel mesh socks in case they miss the log and hit their feet...socks of mail, now I believe Randall could rock those!!
interesting, tricky job. as always you put safety first. great outcome
Thanks!
Thank you so much Thomas!
Congrats on 600k 🔥🔥🔥🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Nice work truck!
Hey buddy how are you could not wait for another video I hope all is well God bless Jake stay safe
Hey Jake is this true buddy that I won something or is it a scam from somebody else thank you Jake so much
The carabiner getting stuck on the nub and you guy’s comments on it, then flipping over another nub was the cherry on top, i felt that🤣
I love the videos keep making them.
All of the editing in the world couldn't hide how cool randy is and how funny it is that his superiority tries to cloak itself.
Well dressed Randy, impressive, great job, glad you are making some lumber out of tree and firewood...Thanks for another fun video...😏
You guys are having way too much fun! Keep it up!
In the saw shop the other day for some gear when the new 88 sucked me up like a magnet. Not your everyday tool grab but having the right tool for the job is priceless.
Omg I've only watched the first 5ish minutes and I'm already laughing my head off 😂😂
Jacob, well done with the toolbox on wheels. A climber of your caliber really don't need a bucket truck. Just another tool to maintain and if your not an expert truck mechanic, than it could cost more than what you would likely want to spend. I need a truck like that😁

Jake, I love hearing you laugh so much at work.
Stay happy brother.
Mandles! Priceless
What a way to start my day. Love the truck & the new saw. Awesome job. Stay safe
Keep the 88 I think it would be fun to use it once in a while for really large trees. Weird also that my like on the video was the 88th like.
Great looking truck man!!
Way to go with the new truck!
I use a small loop of throw line to make a break away for my lanyard when in situations like this one.
Hey Bryce you can get rated zip- ties if you didn't know. 2 of the 75lb rated works good

Absolutely loved the video, the shenanigans that the both of you get into is something else. Laughing so much the jokes that you tell oh mercy!
That 88 smokes..wow. Great video.

I don't know I saw a stump grinder attachment, that was on a mini track. it looked kinda fun, and darn effective.
That Husqvarna’s pissed in all the good ways 😤
I climbed a cotton wood at my house two years ago, spiked my way up and down it twice to thin it out. Its still healthy.
Yep. Keeps the saw...!

Randalls Sandals and Double Stacker in action again!
There's a shoe repair channel called Trenton & Heath and they actually made some steel-toe sandals for a customer.

I have no idea how those ropes can support your balls of steel!! Holy crap you’ve gotta have some Yaegees to do that job!! That was a fun watch!!!
Nice truck there Jake!

Yer bro great ute. Lota lock boxes. Take while remember were stuff is.
Greetings from the BIG SKY. Welcome back to the Northwest. Glad you didn't get eaten by the critters down south.
Hey:) Really nice video! I did a pretty big fir tree a few weeks ago. About 120 feet. The tips and tricks from your videos helped me a lot!
