I've used one on my own horses for about 7 years, and have nothing but good things to say about it. It allows the animal to support its own weight so I don't have to, and I've never tripped over it. Fifty years is a long time. . . I guess old habits die hard.
every time I hire a ferrier that doesn't use one I end up feeling short changed by the work.. The two good ferriers I love use them so IDK if that's an indication or something just an observation

I've been shoeing horses for over fifty years and have never owned one. They are just another piece of junk to trip over!
