@@marcozancan2433 I didn't either as a kid. Got to Knightmare multiple times but he played a blue eyes ultimate dragon nearly every time. I came back to it a few years ago and found the drop lists and beat it fairly easily with some grinding for cards
To those who call this cheating: It's debatable for sure, but I personally don't regard this as illegitimate. The reason for this is that you can do it on any normal console at any time without any extra hardware or software. All this video shows you is how to figure out when to press certain buttons when playing the game. That's it. Once you know when to press certain buttons to win certain cards, you can do it anywhere at any time without anything extra. What I mean by "anything extra" is this. Think about ways you can actually cheat. Card duplication? Requires 3 memory cards and bypasses the "Duelist ID" system that was put into place specifically to stop you from card duping. Using an emulator to activate cheats like "Get all cards" or turning off frame limit? Those are obvious cheats as they're altering the game and the way it's played in some way. Now, what about glitching? Even glitching can be considered "illegitimate" play for most users, because you're making the game do something or act in a way it wasn't designed to. But what about RNG manipulation, which is what we're doing here? Well, a we're doing is using the game's code to LEARN more about the game. We're then USING that information to hit certain buttons at certain times. The main reason I consider this legitimate is this. Once you learn how to do a specific manipulation, all you need is a PS1, the original game disc, one memory card, and one controller. That's it. You don't need ANYTHING else once you've done your homework. PLUS, you're not actually changing anything about the game. You're not making the game do anything differently than it normally does. For example (and these numbers are just hypothetical), if you start a new game on frame 100, your starting deck with have 3 dragons and 3 thunders. Period. That's just true, forever. On frame 100, you get a specific 40 card deck every time. If you didn't watch this video, and you had no idea what RNG manipulation was, and you turned on the game and hit new game on frame 100 just by pure coincidence, guess what? You'd get that exact 40 card deck that has 3 dragons 3 thunders. Every time. All this video helps you do is RECOGNIZE what happens at certain frames. Did you know that you don't even need any external tools to do this, technically? You could theoretically figure out ALL of this without using a script or entering the game's code once. All you'd have to do is reset the console over and over and do thousands and thousands of trial-and-error duels to find the right outcome. What this video does is provides you a script to do that process instead. So, everything shown in this video can be done without the script. It can be done without looking at the game's code. It can ALL be done with JUST an original console, original game disc, original memory card, and original controller. AND, it can ALL be done without altering how the game works. This is the NORMAL function of the game, with no changes. To me, that's what legitimacy is like.
GFC_ can we get this translated into Vietnamese? I don't understand what you say? @Game Mobile: Xin loi minh khong co cai dau tren loi cua minh, ma minh co the giup do thong dich. Ban co muon het video nay hoac loi phe binh cua GFC_ nay?

Johnathan Hoopes I also want to add the fact that I included the entire script for this video in the description. If you go to that link, you get the entire video and everything I said in the video in English text. From there, you can run it through Google Translate or something.
Fantastic. It blows my mind how after years and years of people just accepting the insane randomness of an old game from well more than a decade ago and spending 800 to 1,000 duels just to get one card, we finally get information like this showing how the drops can be fixed without cheating or expert hacking. No hardcore researcher of this game ever ceases to amaze me in showing how much depth this game really has.
Bullshit of the bullshiters...... ...... The trick it is to enjoy the game.... The joy when you win a card ........ To win for the easy way is not a great achievement.... You are not a good or real player. You only are saying lies yourself....

@@alvarosolorzanogoluboay1224 The only bullshit is trying to find "great achievement" in a 20 years old game. Let poeple manipulate and do whatever they want. Everyone has their kind of challenge. Today I can only play this game through smartphone at the way to work and I don't have your free time to spend hours playing more than 1000 duels, that's ridiculous. FM isn't a HARD game, its just a BORING GAME. Difficulty has nothing to do with tons of time to achieve any goal and for the mechanics of FM, it's IMPOSSIBLE to make this game HARD, the only thing you can do is turn this game boring as hell.
I had a friend tell me kepura drops it, spent 200 duels trying to win it, then realized kepura barely drops any warriors, let alone Gate Guardian lol In fact that always weirded me out, why low meadow mage drops Meteor B Dragon instead of high mountain mage? 😂
This was one of the hardest games I have ever played, spent so long trying to get cards, so many times losing to the last couple of bosses who always summoned gate gardian or blue eyes ultimate first turn with 3 raigeki's ... I only beat this game because of pure luck.
@@stevenbohlen347 sorry for bumping old comment but oh my god YES! before watching this I watched his speedrun video and imagine my disbelief seeing him getting 3 MBDs consecutively after I've spent 2 days winning over a hundred matches against Heishin and not a single one has dropped 😂😂😂
Forbidden Memories is one of those games that I can just never seem to stop playing. It all started in the late 90s, playing it for the first time during the height of the Yugioh craze. But the game was way too hard back then and I didn't know how to beat it. A few years later, we had drop lists for duelists, and with MBD as a drop from Meadow Mage, beating the game was actually possible with a bit of luck. Then there was the craze about all the *UNCONFIRMED* drops like PUGM from Anubisius, BEUD from Seto 3rd, Gate Guardian from Heishin 2nd, etc. which had me playing even more to try and get those. Then a few years later after all that was debunked, we got a modded version of the game that actually had all the cards obtainable as winnable drops. And now, here we are a few years later and we can now RNG abuse on the actual physical hardware and have people speedrunning. This game just never stops being fun and the way we play it is always evolving!
Yugioh the anime came out in the USA in 2001 and the card game came came put of Japan in 2002. Why are you lying about the 90s and stuff? And lol at the people liking the comment. It's a lie to sound like a veteran.
What hype in the 90s if the card game came out in 2002 in the USA and the anime the year before outside Japan? There was no hype in the 90s you lying bastard. Lol also the game came put in 9 of December 1999 in Japan and 2002 in the west. Did you really play it in "the late 90s" ? When you had 3 weeks left of that decade and in Japanese? Were you in Japan at that time and play it on the day or release? Lmao okay buddy.
This is genius! It kinda reminds me of when I find certain patterns in certain games, and I'm like, "Am I crazy or whenever I do this weird thing, that happens?" LOL
I remember the rarest card I won was a blue-eyes, only had 1. The second rarest were megamorph and metal zoa. Only got two of each. Was only able to get two exodia pieces too. This game was hard as hell
Amazing how far they have come with the speedrunning of this game. Really impressive. Years ago, a run lower than 8 hours was godlike. Now with this strats is possible to do it in less than one hour and twenty. Also it takes time to set up things, but it works. So, is awesome all the work behind those manipulations. Some day i will love to see something like that for the Brazilian mod Forbidden Memories 2 (the original, not the android version)
Okay, I'm giving up on RNG manipulation. I just can't hit the desired frame even after calibrating the timer and trying for 2 hours. Nice tutorial, tho.
i prefer the old method just playing the game doing s pow and s tec and hoping to get the wanted card this rnd manipulation is way to complicated for me
*remembers configuring a method to win the password system*: • maximize stars chips • copy account to 2 out of 3 memory cards (3rd memory card is to have a middle man for trades with a different account name) • trade purchased card to memory card that still has optimal star chip count • keep overriding spent account with billionaire account after trading valuable card to billionaire account the only requirement is winning a few million games!
Amazing, took me a bit to get the right opening hand, and a few perfect opening hands with different frames than what i needed to win, but eventually once i did get the right frame and played the duel out accordingly I got a Meteor B. Dragon from Heishin 1, managed to get a second one immediately after too. Thanks for this, this was really cool.
That's what I thought, maybe the method in the video is not cheating at all, but if you can choose easily which card you want to earn it's practically like Gameshark
EVERYONE: It has come to my attention that the script will NOT work on SOME certain languages other than English. The reason is interesting AND is fixable. WATCH THIS VIDEO FOR THE FIX - ruclips.net/video/hVvsBRAwdF8/видео.html At the very end of every duel, the words "YOU WIN" appear. The animation of the letters for "YOU WIN" advances the frame count by a certain amount, which obviously changes the drop. The script provided in this video accounts for this. However, it only accounts for the animation when there are SEVEN (7) letters on the screen. For English, that is the letter Y, O, U, then the "Space" character, then W, I, and N, giving a total of 7 characters. In some other languages, the overall count is NOT 7 characters. IF your language's "YOU WIN" screen has any MORE or any LESS than 7 characters (INCLUDING the space), the script will NOT work properly. However, if the "YOU WIN" screen for your language has exactly 7 characters (including the space), then you're totally fine. Now, there IS a quick and easy way to fix this. Tomorrow morning, I am going to write a quick tutorial on how to do so, courtesy of GenericMadScientist. I am ALSO going to try my best to create various download links in the description for versions of the script that are edited to work with DIFFERENT LANGUAGES. Currently, I have one made for ITALIAN. If you want me to edit the script for YOUR language, please REPLY to this comment telling me what LANGUAGE it is and HOW MANY CHARACTERS the "You Win" screen is (counting the space). Thank you!

after watching this I think it s easier to just play normally to win the cards you want :D I got a MBD, Meteor Dragon, Red Eye and only Thunders Dragons, 3 Umis, 3 DT, 2 DE, 1 WSR after 300 Meadow Mage, 200 Isis and less than 50 Joeys and Mage soldiers. I know I was lucky with Red Eye but realy unlucky with WSR, so that cancels each other out.. And you could easily do that while watching TV or streams besides, so way way way easier for me
There are some people that have bad luck with this stuff. I remember my brother having over 700 wins against meadow mage and 800 on heishin and he managed to nab a meteor and a red eyes dragon but 90% of the time one of those would be the last few cards in his deck so that meteor b fusion barely ever helped him in a duel
OK, I was mostly wrong. What was happening was that in the process of limiting the pool of seeds, I ended up choosing the wrong ones. There's just too many that look exactly the same, only differing perhaps in the drop. But since you're dumping cards to identify your frame ASAP, you won't know which is which. In generating the csv starting from seed 1, at least I think I was able to pinpoint the seed by substracting or adding. The closest I got to the frames I wanted was an error of 30. I gave up, and just went back to the campaign, were the character that was giving me issues just decided to not play MBD.
Yes! Been waiting on a proper tutorial for ages. Thanks so much for making this You'll still get hundreds of messages spamming about "durr how do I manip" which is sad though

I can't get this to work with Meadow Mage. Does the script take into account the possibility of the CPU using Field Spells like Sogen? Because I get the right cards to line up in the script, do the process, but when he activates Sogen he isn't summoning a monster to destroy so I hold off on attacking with my second monster on turn 2 - thus keeping it at 1 direct attack like in the script. But the card drop does not match and it's always a card a few frames down the list. Any help is appeciated, thanks.
That's a good point, I have to say I'm not actually sure, I'd have to do some testing to see how exactly it effects the frame count. Good thing to bring up, can't believe I didn't think of that
@@GFC_FM The biggest issue I've run into with this is that it immediately invalidates a large amount of potential manipulations; because the script never accounts for non-monster cards being played, you can't tell which routes are valid and which are not. If I have 6 frames clustered together that will drop Skull Knight, and Meadow Mage ACTUALLY opens by playing with Sogen on all of them, none of them will drop Skull Knight, and without being able to add that variable in, you basically have to means-test every single possible listed frame and hope one of them doesn't open with Sogen. It's a compounded problem: you can't screen out seeds that open with Sogen by adding conditional formatting, and you can't adjust with a manipulation that includes a Sogen play. If you could discover how much a Sogen play added to the seed while keeping everything else identical, you might be able to adjust, but until then...
Updated comment: I tried this method and it worked, it was not working before as Equip also alters the current seed of the game, so even though I was making all the script actions correctly, equips was messing with my seed. I then removed all equips from my deck, and adjusted the order so I had 3 frames to land the card I wanted. After playing around with save states for a couple of minutes, I hit the frame and got the card!
I won Metalzoa 4 years ago after 760 duels vs sebek with no rng manipulation. Unfortunately, I accidentally saved a new game on that file so I no longer have my Metalzoa. A year and a half ago I set out to try and reclaim it. My deck now has even better equips (3x megamorph, 2x dragon treasure, 2x bright castle) however I am struggling to reclaim as I have hit 715 duels on this account. I may have to try and do this method, luckily I took a programming course this semester and understood everything in that script. I’m conflicted as I want to win Metalzoa without rng manip but I also enjoy the science behind this, it’s incredible! Let me know your guys thoughts, I’m thinking about trying to setup rng manipulation. GFC thanks for the video man, your content and streams are great!
i mean if you are exicted to try that rng manipulation do it to satisfy your need. BUT do it in different account/save. So that way you can still have account where u r doing it the hard way and u will be more satisfied later on when you hit 1000+ duels on a single duelist just to win a single card. I have yu gi oh forbidden memories on my laptop using emulator and one of my goals is to win 1000times against every single duelist in freemode xD

Mukifilio Dann I know some you can buy with 999,999 star chips 😂 but that’s a mere 200,000 duels all at S/A POW lol and just keep at it! Blue eyes has a great drop rate (I believe 26/2048) so it’s just a matter of S/A POW’ing Seto 3rd consistently!

Hey, i have a question. At 30:12 when im increasing my frame count, when do i start the timer? Do i start counting in the Build deck menu right before dueling someone? And if im currently at frame 400 at the duel, do i need to restart the game before finisihing the duel? or just finish the duel and go quickly as possible to select the duelist and count right at the build deck screen? Im sincerely confused, thank you so much!
You think this is how Yugioh protaganists always draw the cards they want to? Like, that it's common knowledge among pros in the show and that's why their decks don't need that much synergy? Cause they stack it in a certain way with RNG manipulation in mind?
It seems the more times I attempt to find the initial seed, the less accurate this becomes. The first attempt, I found my frame in what appeared to be a perfect match, except I would later find out after many, many attempts of trying to hit one of the three frames to get MBD from Jono 2nd, I was landing on frames MUCH earlier than the ones I was trying to. I was 32 seconds away from MBD frames, but was somehow landing in ones about 3 seconds away from the initial seed when waiting 32 seconds. The second attempt, the seed was off by 1 card ((26 11 17 8 29 repeated on two rows instead of 26 11 17 8 30). After that, every single attempt yielded completely different cards. Nothing matched ever again. Are you using a bin/cue dump? I'm using Duckstation, an emulator that, inferring from the stated goal, has accuracy that lies somewhere between epsxe and beetlepsx. On the topic of errors, Jono 2nd often randomly sets some kind of magic or trap card on the first turn. The script doesn't generate seeds with that. Among his pool for that, he has Invigoration, Forest, Wasteland, Mountain, Sogen, Umi, Yami, Tremendous Fire, Kunai with Chain, and Salamandra. I've never been able to see what he actually sets since he never seems to use them. I just got that data from the yugipedia page.
everyone complaining how difficult is to get blue eyes white dragon, while I was looking for a metalzoa with 0.20 % chance and I didn't find it in the first 3000 frames, but I found like 300 zoas
You rock! Best RNG tutorial ever. However there are cards you can get with Pocketstation but not with passwords or drops. I know they don't apply in a any% speedrun but it's good to know.
Gabriel Storti Correct. Out of the 722 cards, in the north American version, you can only get 689 cards. This is assuming you aren't getting 999,999 starchips as well (which, you aren't). However, with the pocketstation on the JP version, you can get up to 720 cards out of 722. As far as we know, there are no possible ways to legitimately obtain Magician of Black Chaos or Dark Magic Ritual (his ritual card), even with Pocketstation.
I tried it on Jono 2nd and got different card drop. Here's what i did. (using DuckStation on Android 12). The script was: 1. 4 turns 2. No dumps, no fusion, no quicks, no gs, no direct low 3. Enemy dest 1, 1, 1 4. Directs 1, 2, 1 I was aiming for MBD and got frame at 680, but I won Fiend's Hand instead. I tested again with random frame and yield different card with the program. Maybe it doesn't work on android or duckstation? Or was it something i did wrong? EDIT: found the mistake after reading RealPrincyy's comment. I thought enemy_dest was the number of monster I destroyed.
Great video. I barely noticed the time flying. You do a very good job at explaining. I watched 2 other your videos and this seems to be true for them as well. You do an amazing job on writing a script. But bro, I really liked this game a lot as a kid, but after seeing my suspicions about enemies cheating when they play cards confirmed, and how infuriating it is to win cards, or how the rank system works, I'm actually start to hate the game LOL. Poor kid me, man. At any rate, if I ever were to attempt playing this game again, and tried this, I feel like I'd have a lot of trouble getting right, down to the frame. As if it'd be better to rely on blind luck that to do this method. How difficult do you, as a speedrunner, find doing this on a scale of 1 to 10? Also, I read some comments and I laugh at how dumb people are. This video is explained to the T, and somehow you idiots call this "altering the game's files" or "hacking" lol. You were never a teacher's/mentor's favorite student, of that I am sure.
Hey I really appreciate the kind words man! I've always really enjoyed taking complicated concepts and explaining them in simpler terms. As far as your thought that it would likely be easier to rely on luck if you returned to playing this game than using RNG manipulation, you're absolutely correct haha. There is just a lot of groundwork you need to lay before you can even begin to ATTEMPT to hit the correct frame to win the card you want, and even once you reach that point, actually hitting said frame is exceedingly difficult. For casual gameplay, I'm not sure it would be the best option to do rng manipulation. Once you're familiar with creating your own rng manips, it doesn't take too long, so I guess it really depends. The first time you attempt to use this method, it's probably going to take a few hours for you to get familiar with everything and fully understand it. Your first manip you create will be, by far, the most time consuming. However, once you've done it once, doing it again is generally a lot faster. So, I guess it really depends on what card you're going for and whether or not you already have spent the time doing that first manip or not. For example, I would say it probably isn't worth using this method to win Meteor B. Dragon from Meadow Mage, as that card has a 20/2048 chance of dropping. Those odds are already pretty decent in the grand scheme of things. However, if you're going for something like Metalzoa from Sebek, which is a 4/2048, now the time investment of learning rng manipulation is looking more reasonable. I would say it also depends on how many copies of the same card you want. If you only want 1 Metalzoa, and you've never touched rng manipulation before, it's probably best to just farm it out. But the good thing about rng manipulation is that, once you spend the time to learn how to do it, and you create that manipulation to win Metalzoa or whatever else, you can use that exact same method over and over again to win as many copies of the card as you want. It will almost certainly be WAY faster to learn rng manipulation, create an rng manipulation for Metalzoa, and perform it correctly 3 times, than it would to legitimately win the card 3 times. Of course you could get super good luck and win 3 of them within a few minutes, but overall the odds, I'd say, are far higher of rng manipulation being faster. It also matters whether or not you're actually interested in the inner workings of this game. If you don't find rng manipulation interesting, or you don't find the inner workings of FM interesting, and you plan on using rng manipulation SOLELY as a tool for getting cards you want, then it's probably best to just farm for them normally. Making your own rng manipulations can be tedious work if it doesn't interest you. But, if you are interested in how it all works, then I'd personally say to give it a try. Remember, that first manipulation you make (presumably while slowly going through my video, step by step) is going to be the most difficult, because it's your first time doing it. You have to download all of the files, follow along with the video to learn how they work, mess around with it to see how you can change it to work in your specific case, etc. Then you have to do your first attempts at actually hitting the frame for the manipulation you created, which is an entirely different skill that you'll need to practice a bit to sort of get used to it. But once you've done all of that once, doing it again becomes much MUCH simpler, faster, and overall easier. So yeah, I'd say whether or not it's worth it would depend on how much interest you have in the method itself, rather than solely using it as a tool to win cards you want. It also depends on what card(s) you want, and whether you want 1 copy or a full playset of 3. As far as using this method in speedruns go, I'd put the difficulty at around a 7, if we're just talking about the actual mechanical skill required. The amount of research and routing that goes into a full rng manipulation speedrun is absolutely insane, and I'd easily rate that amount of work a 10 haha. I'm talking dozens and dozens of hours of work required before you even pick up the controller. But, once that route is completed, it's a ton of fun in my opinion. There are many many different, totally separate, rng manips within a full game speedrun. Some are quite easy and consistent, and some are extremely difficult and inconsistent. One big issue is that there are very slight differences in loading times that can potentially mess up extremely precise manips. Add that to how insanely precise the timing is (1/60th of a second), along with things like input delay and, at times this precise, even monitor refresh rates, and sometimes, with these more precise manips during the speedrun, it can feel almost luck based whether you hit it or not. There's just so many factors layered on top of a massive mechanic skill requirement that even what feels like perfect timing can feel as though it's a 50/50 whether it works or not sometimes. I will say, multiple members of the community have been working on a new rng manipulation route for the speedrun. They've been working on it for a very, very long time (I believe over a year now, if not more), but it's just about completed. Once it's finished, it will become possible to go through the entire game, start to finish, without resetting the console a single time. If you've watched any rng manipulation speedruns until now, you've probably noticed the console resets. This brings the frame count back to 0 so we can hit the same manip multiple times. In other cases, it just makes it easier to reset the frame count back to 0 before we go for a manip, and in other cases (such as winning 3 MBDs), we just want to win the same card 3 times, so just re-doing the same manip 3 times is easiest. However, the new route doesn't do this. Instead of being like "okay, we can win MBD at frame 1000, so let's hit frame 1000, reset the console, hit frame 1000 again, etc, until we win 3 MBD", NOW it will be a chain manip. So the first MBD will stay on frame 1000, but if we successfully hit that manip, we know we are on frame 1000, so now we create a manip to win MBD that comes AFTER frame 1000, for this example let's say frame 2000. So instead of resetting and doing the same strategy 3 times in a row, we hit the first MBD on frame 1000, then immediately do another rng manip to get another on frame 2000, and so on. This is significantly harder for multiple reasons. For one, just creating the route takes an ABSURD amount of time extra. Because, instead of making 1 manip and using it 3 times, we have to make 3 separate manips. Even with all that work completed, actually performing them during a run also becomes astronomically more difficult. Right now, with console resets, if I win MBD 1, but then fail the manip for MBD 2, I can just reset the console and try again from frame 0. It isn't ideal of course as it loses time, but the option is there. But since the entire game is going to be one massive rng manipulation chain, that means if you fail any manip, at any point during the run, it's over. Your frame count will be off, which means your frame count will be off for every subsequent manip, so the run is over. This basically means that, if you fail a manip at any point during the run, you either kill the run and reset, or you continue the run normally without rng manipulation from that point on. It will be insanely difficult. But, if someone manages to do it, all in one big, uninterrupted rng manipulation chain? The final time will be truly legendary: it would truly be the perfect run. If this perfect run is pulled off, using this new route, the final time will be under 1 hour. That will be the holy grail of Forbidden Memories speedrunning: the sub 1 hour. It will be the biggest accomplishment possible in FM speedrunning, and in my opinion one of the biggest accomplishments in speedrunning in general. When this route is finished and released, I'm sure there will be multiple people grinding for that sub 1 hour time, in order to make history. And you can bet your ASS that I'll be one of them! I will do everything in my power to become the first person to beat the original Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories, on original hardware, with the original game disc, with 0 modifications or hacks, in less than 1 hour. Sorry for the long reply, but again I really appreciate your comment and I hope to see you around in the streams when the sub 1 grind inevitably begins in the coming months! Cheers and have a great night, day, week, month, year, decade, and life, - GFC
@@GFC_FM Yeah, that's kinda what I figured on the 'trying to do use this method' part. I would probably only attempt it if I was extremely fed up with getting drops with blind luck after god knows how many duels. I've done a small amount of frame perfect stuff in video games, but not on exact running frames. I saw your speedrun right after watching this video, the '[Former WR]... in 1:11:32!' and I saw some of this in action. If I'm understanding this right, if I get into a duel at frame 1000 and I do some actions that lead me to frame 1500, when I come out of a duel the game continues counting 60 frames per second from there until I get into the next duel, right? If that's how it works, then you had to find and make calculations for which deck to get first so that you can later find what hand needs which cards for the correct amount of frame advances so that you can chain the entire run. That's probably so difficult that it rescales the scale of 10. I'd put it at like a 1000 out of 10. Makes a year of looking into spreadsheets almost sound fast lol. Unless I'm getting it wrong. Don't worry about the long reply. I wish I was this passionate about things to be honest hahah. Good luck on getting world first sub 1 hour when the time comes.
I discovered that you can win cards in this game at the last three duels after two years of playing ahahah and I got casually two black dragon in two day ..
Just spent some time fiddling around trying to get the script to run. There must have been some changes to one of the python libraries at some point since the version 3.6.5 linked in the description, as version 3.8 was unable to run the script as of Feb 5th 2022. Version 3.6.5 of python ran it no problems. Putting this out there for others running into the same issue, if you have something later than 3.6.5 and it doesn't run, roll it back and it should be fine
An exact amount of Direct Attack can be taken in consideration in seeds or Ranking? I got my only MBD and cards like Gaia, Dark Magician and Skull Knight by hitting exactly 8000 life points on a perfect duel, for example: 2 hits by THTD and 1 by Thousand Dragon.
No, an exact kill doesn't alter the card you get, the rank, the seed, or anything else. The game doesn't even notice it. The only thing somewhat similar the game DOES take into consideration is how many attacks you did that did less than 1,000 LP damage, and how many attacks you did that did more than 1,000 LP damage. For example, if you attack directly with Shadow Specter, the game counts that as a "direct low" (since you did 500 damage, and 500 is less than 1000). However, if you do a direct attack with an MBD, the game counts that as a "direct high" (since you did 3500 damage, and 3500 is more than 1000). That's why these two things are variables in the RNG manipulation python script used in this video. If you end a duel with, for example, 1 direct low and 2 direct highs, you'll win "Card A", but if you end that exact same duel with 1 direct low and 3 direct highs, you'll win a different card, or "Card B." Doing more or less of ANY variable shown in this video (fusions, direct low/highs, turns, etc) doesn't necessarily give you better or worse drops. It just changes the drop to something different, but it doesn't make it better or worse. Just a different random drop. There's no such thing as, for example, "If you do 5 fusions you have a better chance at winning MBD!" or something like that. There's absolutely nothing you can do to have a better chance to win any card in the game. You either have a totally random chance to win the card (MBD on Meadow Mage has a chance of 20/2048 for example), or you have a 100% chance to win the card, if you use RNG manipulation. But there's absolutely no way to increase your odds to anywhere in between. There's no best practices to use during a duel to get better drops (such as what you said, winning with exact damage, which doesn't make the drops better or worse at all). Hope that helps!
"I got my only MBD and cards like Gaia, Dark Magician and Skull Knight by hitting exactly 8000 life points on a perfect duel" Yeah, that's just coincidence, unfortunately. A lot of people have also argued that you have a better chance of winning MBD on A rank instead of S rank. I've also had people argue the exact reverse (that you have a better chance to win MBD on S rank instead of A rank). None of it is true, it's all just coincidence. If I boot up FM right now, and I do 10 A ranks and 10 S ranks, and I win three MBD only on the A ranks, then that might look like getting an A rank has a better chance than S rank. But it doesn't. It's just anecdotal evidence; a coincidence. Trust me, I WISH something like that was true. It would make speedruns way easier! But, unfortunately, it isn't.
I took me 3800 duels to get the perfect deck. 3 metor b dragons. 3 metor dragons. 3 red eyes black dragon 3 megamorph. 3 bright castle. 3 dragon treasure. 2 mountain 2 crush cards (against seto and nightmare for blue eyes ultimate dragon) 3 blue eyes white dragon. 3 twin headed thunder dragon 3 sanga the thunder god 3 thunder dragons. 3 harpies pet dragon 3 kaiser dragons. Replace 2 crushcards with kaminari attack. 1900 electric card. When not playing seto and nightmare. And i still lose about 15% of the time against Seto 3rd. Blue eyes ultimate dragon with 4500 attack. Who also gets mountain bonus i cant use. Also. You can not use metor b dragon. + red eyes and metor dragon. Take those 9 cards away. Add 6 more monsters. 3 electric. 3 dragon. And then 3 more equip cards for twin headed thunder dragon. Sanga the thunder god. Harpies pet dragon. Kasier dragon. Are all 2/2048- chance to win.. And S-tec for pegasus is hard to do. Takes forever. I spent prolly 500 hours or more getting the perfect deck. Sad you cant get blue eyes ultimate dragon as a card. Basically stupid to bring him out without playing the 3 blue eyes first. Which you win by that point You can also get 2500atk/2300 def. Seyiraru outta the password list. Hes solid. Gives bonus 500 attack to a few dragons. Like skull dragon with 3200.
Yeah it's possible to do rng manipulation on anything, if you can play the game you can do rng manipulation. But the research has to be done on a computer. But once you have a strategy, you can use that exact same strategy on any version of the game and it will work.
Does the PAL version have a different framerate? In order to divide the number for the timer. And also, If I used the time I need to got to Heishin, how do I adjust it for moving up to Jono 2nd?
The line on the Spreadsheet will be the exactly the same as my first 10 cards? I swear to god i'm doing everything right but i can't fucking find the right line on spreadsheet... i'm even using macro to speed every ms i can on the loading screen till the round starts...
You can't. Seiyaryu can only be purchased once on the password menu. If you got 3 of them you are probably playing a mod (if your game is a copy) or cloned it through the 3 memory cards method
Romadhani Syahputra That is not true. You cannot win either of those cards. Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon is only able to be ritual summoned during a duel. Same thing with Gate Guardian. Neither of the cards are obtainable as a single card. They cannot be won. We know this because we looked at the game's code. The game is coded to say this. So it's 100% certain.
Romadhani Syahputra The video you just linked to shows someone ritual summoning Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon. I just said that ritual summoning it was the only method of using it. But again, yes you can ritual summon it, but that only allows you to use the card in that duel. It doesn't give you the card itself. There is no way to get just the card itself. It does not drop anywhere in the game. Again, this is the game's code telling us this. So no, you never did win an ultimate dragon. No one did. Because it's literally not coded into the game to be winnable, regardless of what you're playing on. Sorry man.
@@GFC_FM Looking at your comments I've seen that you have great knowledge about the game, so I'm asking some questions if you don't mind to answer: firstly, you said that the code explicitely tells that ia impossible to acquire some cards, so is the source code available somewhere? I would love to have a look into it; secondly, is there any explanation why the developers made the decision of letting some cards impossible to obtain? Why would they do it? It's so frustrating. Thanks for the video, I miss this game dearly, It is good to learn more about it.
@@gmtfonseca To my knowledge, the source code itself is not publicly available, though I may be incorrect. I've personally not looked into the code, but many people (namely those in the Brazilian community, it seems) have. This is also how and why mods of this game that are so detailed exist. The folks who do know the code of the game have created a few tools to make it easy to edit the game. Secondly, the developers didn't really make the decision to make some cards unobtainable, technically at least. You see, Forbidden Memories was originally planned to have 5 ways of obtaining cards. However, when the game was ported to other countries, the 5th way was not possible. You can obtain a card in Forbidden Memories by winning it, buying it, fusing it, or ritual summoning it. The first two methods actually let you have the card itself while the last two methods (fusing and ritual summoning) only give you control of the card during that duel (which is enough to make it appear in the Card Library in the game). However, the Japanese version had one other way to get cards. The Japanese PlayStation One had an accessory called the PocketStation. This device was about the size of a memory card and had a very tiny screen on it. Basically, it connected to the PS1 through infrared (or IR) signals. The Japanese game had a menu function in the Options menu that allowed you to use it. This had a few functions. One of them was the Card Lottery which gave you a card at random. Another function allowed you to "trade" some cards into it in order to be given a new, more powerful card. The cards that you think of as unobtainable were actually able to be gotten by using the PocketStation's Card Lottery or trading system. However, the PocketStation never ended up being supported outside of Japan for Forbidden Memories. So, all of the cards that you used to be able to obtain using the PocketStation became unobtainable outside of Japan. Interestingly, this is also why some seemingly random cards cost 999999 starchips (or can't be bought). If you look at a starchip code list, you might notice super weak cards that cost 999999. That's because those cards used to be trading materials to make other obtainable cards with the PocketStation. Now, my guess is that it was some sort of time or money constraint. They had two options: the first was that they would have to edit the game to make the cards winnable. The second was just not doing anything at all and leaving them unobtainable. They obviously went with the first option. See, if they wanted to edit the game to make the cards winnable on duelist, it would've required a bit more work and planning than you might think. As you likely know, the odds of winning any card are out of 2048. So, for example, winning Meteor B. Dragon from Meadow Mage has the odds of 20/2048. If you were to add up the odds of winning every card on Meadow Mage, guess what it would add up to? 2048. Obviously. That means that if they wanted to make one of those unobtainable cards winnable on someone, say by making it a 2/2048, they can't just add it in. If they added the drop right in, the total would be 2050, and that wouldn't work. So, they'd have to edit other cards to make room. So if Konami wanted to add an entirely new unobtainable card to Meadow Mages droplist, they'd have to make it so, say Meteor B. Dragon, had a drop rate of 18/2048, in order to make room for that new 2/2048 they added. Now, making all of those changes for ALL of the unobtainable cards across all of those duelists would simply take up quite a bit of development time. And for what? They had a fully functioning game already. Not to mention it was not even a worry for Japan, which was their original target audience. Konami had a choice. Either spend extra development time (and thus, extra money) on making quite a few edits to the drop tables of the entire game, and ONLY doing it for copies of the game outside of Japan, OR they could just edit the menu option to remove the PocketStation option (which, even if they left it in, wouldn't had worked outside of Japan). They made the choice to save the money. Honestly, it wasn't a terrible choice and was probably the most business-savvy option at the time. Keep in mind, when the game was developed and released, Yu-Gi-Oh was only really popular in Japan. Konami was developing the game mainly for the Japanese audience, because they didn't expect Forbidden Memories to sell well in the rest of the world. So why would they dump all that extra money into adding a few extra cards for a game they thought wouldn't be that popular anyway? Another possibility is that they originally thought that the PocketStation would've been released in the rest of the world. The PocketStation was released in Japan in 1999, right when Forbidden Memories was released in Japan. So it made sense for them to add PocketStation functionality to the game. However, the PocketStation didn't sell well. It was a bad add-on. Because of this, it was discontinued in 2002. Guess when Forbidden Memories was released to the rest of the world? 2002. So another guess is that, when Konami made Forbidden Memories, they planned on the PocketStation eventually being rolled out across the world. That way, when Forbidden Memories was released worldwide, everyone could use the PocketStation to get all of those cards only obtainable using it. However, when the PocketStation flopped, they now had a game that used a device that didn't exist outside of Japan. So, they had a choice to either edit the game or just release it (a choice which I described above). But don't fret! There are a few mods of Forbidden Memories that make it so you can win those PocketStation-only cards as drops on certain duelists. I know at least one mod exists that changes NOTHING expect for making those cards and drops available. Doing a bit of Google Searching can point you in the right direction to downloading them. Cheers!
I mean, someone could say the same exact thing about literally any game in existence considering whether a game is good or bad is subjective. I like Forbidden Memories because I find it fun and the speedrunning community is my favorite. That's really all there is to it.
on your Speedrun (1:19:28) you created a NEW GAME on the Beginning. How could you know what Cards you have? How could you know that you can play the perfect duell with them as you explained in this video ?
F J Because every frame that you start a new game on gives you a different deck. So starting a new game on frame 100 will give you the same deck every time.
No, you can't get all 722 cards without cheating. There are still plenty of cards that don't drop anywhere. Those cards you were supposed to get with the Pocketstation, which is a discontinued Japanese PS1 add on. This method just allows you to win any obtainable card. Can't win a card if it was never programmed into the game to be winnable.
I have an issue: i did everything you said and I'm trying with Jono 2nd, I am also entering near the first frame possible so that my search is quicker. My perfect duel is very simple: no fusions (i have many cards with atk above 2500) and [1, 2] directs. The problem is that I'm able to recognize 7/8 cards of mine and the 2 cards he plays (can I be sure with that information that the frame is unique?) but the card that i win is not the one listed by the program. Even if I search by the name of the card, I'm not able to find a frame with the right cards drawed. How is that possible?
So if you can't find a frame with the correct cards drawn, try resorting your deck differently (pressing start before the duel) to change your deck order. If that still doesn't work, you can try to run the script again and look at the NEXT 3000 frames above the 3000 you've already looked through. It'd add a good bit of waiting when attempting to hit it, but it'd work.
tried. the problem is the same: I am able to find the frame from 7/8 cards drawed and the 2 played by him, but the card won is different. it seems to me that I matbe play the game in a different way from the perfect duel described becaues only the result is different.
Andrea Yeah you must be doing something different during the duel. What's your perfect duel like? Give me a turn by turn description of what you do. Don't worry about telling me the variables. Just be like "On turn 1, I play Suijin face down in attack mode. I end turn. Enemy plays Zoa. Turn 2, I play xxxx" and so on. With that information, I can tell you what the variables should be set to and we can see if they match what you've been doing. I've done this a lot and I can probably spot your error somewhere. Remember, the game is 100% running the same way every time, so it has to be some kind of small error you're making. I'm also really glad you've made it this far regardless. That's an accomplishment of itself! Learning what you know already took me a while, haha.
As I am facing Jono 2nd any duel is my perfect duel cause my deck is way too powerful than his, so i look at the cards i have and I try to recognize the frame, anyway I'll try: On turn 1, I play any of my monsters with 2500+ atk face up, just because he can't attack them, end my turn. He plays a card face down in defense. On turn 2, I play another moster 2500+ atk, destroy his card and then i do a direct attack, end my turn. He plays another card face down in defense. On final turn, I play the 3rd monster 2500+ atk and destroy his card, then I do 2 direct attacks, end of duel. Am I doing something wrong?
So, given your duel, your variables should be like this. Numb_of_turns should be 3. Dumps should be all 0's. Fusions should be all 0's. Quicks should be TWO 0's. GS should be two 0's. Enemy_dest should be two 0's. Directs should be 1,2. And direct_lows should be two 0's. Here's what I would make sure of. Make sure you are not having any guardian star interactions. And make sure the enemy name is correct under "opponent = 'xxx'". If it still does not work, it might be best to do it a bit more accurately. What you should try doing is this: Set first_seed_index to the first possible entry frame you found. Set numb_of_seeds to 3000. In the spreadsheet, look for a frame that drops the card you want. When you find that frame, look at exacxtly what cards you're supposed to draw and what cards the enemy is supposed to play. Let's say at this frame, you see the numbers 10, 13, 23, 15, 18, and so on. What you should do is look at your deck and write down EXACTLY what cards are in those slots by default. DO NOT sort your deck any special way. JUST hit right on the d-pad. So, when you do this, you should KNOW that your opening hand should be, say, Suijin, Sanga of the Thunder, THTD, Skull Knight, etc. Once you have that EXACT order written down for 10 cards, NOW start trying to hit that frame. You know exactly what your opening hand should be, because you wrote it down earlier. Once you see that EXACT opening hand, the first thing you should do is just THROW ALL 5 CARDS. That way, you can see further than 7 or 8 cards. Just throw all 5 and write down what you draw. See exactly what frame you're on. That way, you can see how close you are. Once you're confident your timer is calibrated correctly, THEN start doing the duel perfectly. Here's another great tip. In the script, make it so you dump 1 card every turn instead of none. This will make it easier to determine what frame you're on since you waste more cards. Go into the script, and set dumps to 1, 1, 0 (no need to throw any cards on the last turn). Now, in this new spreadsheet, look for a new frame that works and try it out. But remember that every turn you have to dump 1 card except the last now. Give all of that a try and tell me how it works. If it does not, tell me exactly what frame you're trying to hit and I'll take a look at the spreadsheet. Maybe join my Discord server so we can talk it through.
I use the emulator for PS1 and play Yugioh FM on it. BUT i couldnt instal the emulator for ps2 so if it doesnt work with u i cant help u. One thing u should know for the PS1 emulator is that [saving] does not work in the normal way like doing it IN the game. At least i couldnt understand how to create memorycard/twin or whatever. I am saving in a different way. When u r playing the game and u wanna save, just press ESC it will close the game window and will turn u back to PS1emulator menu, dont be afraid u didnt close the game completely if can turn back from the menu on the exact place u left. ANYWAYS in the menu u will find how to save, u have 10slots for saves and the [load] is also near the [save] option. The thing is that if u press ESC in the middle of a duel and save it when u load that save it will put on the same spot u saved it. It will put u back in the middle of the duel. Also u cant load your [save] if u havent started the game first. First u need to [run the iso] of the game and when the game starts press [ESC] , load the save and u done. thats it
I seem to be having trouble running/opening the script after editing. However, if I mash double-click, the black box (Python, right?) will eventually stay open. No new file is created, however. So my problem(s) are either 1) bad script, or 2) incorrect Python installation?? At first I was using NotepadX because it was the default on Windows 10. After watching your video I installed Notepad++ and used that to edit the script. Still no luck actually running the script. Do you have any idea why this might be? My opponent: Sebek. My target card: Metalzoa. My "perfect" duel is to use my three MBD so I have three turns, zero dumps, zero fusions, zero quicks, zero destruction, one and two directs respectively, and zero direct lows. Using this I can't run the script. Maybe you'll see this and maybe you won't, but I hope you can offer SOME kind of insight as to why I can't get this working. In the meantime, thanks for the video. EDIT: Also, the type of the script file is "Python File". Is that correct? Yours was a "PY File". EDIT: I installed Python 3.6.5.
That sounds like having the wrong version of Python installed, or by having something incorrect in the script, like the wrong name for the opponent or an extra variable or something. 1.) Check the opponent's name in the script. Each name has to be exact. If you have any questions as to what the proper names are for a particular opponent, reply and let me know. 2.) Check you have the right number of variables. For example, if you run the script with 3 turns, some variables will have 3 values (such as fusions, since you can fuse on turn 1, 2, and 3), and some will have 2 values (such as directs and direct lows, since you can't attack on turn 1, so if there's three turns, there should only be two values for those). 3.) Make sure you ONLY have Python 3.6.5 installed (version in the description, and no other version, check your installed programs to ensure it's the only Python you have installed). If all of this is still correct, copy and paste your entire script in its current state into Pastebin.com and give me the link here and I'll see if I can notice any errors. If there's no error in the script itself, there must be an error Python-installation related.
@@GFC_FM Bro, I can't thank you enough for actually answering--especially this quickly! Turns out... his name is "Guardian Sebek" and not, "Sebek"... Let this be a lesson to others to not overlook the small things. I've gotten the script to work and am continuing towards the actual RNG manipulation of the game. If I can get it to work I'll post my results. Thanks again for the reply.
@@dovonovich I'm glad to hear it worked for you! Definitely reply again to let me know about your progress! Not many people on Earth actually know how to do this. This video has a lot of views but not many people actually go through with the entire thing so I'd love to hear how it goes for someone who actually does it! Best of luck and if you need any help just reply here again and I'll get back to ya asap!
@@GFC_FMThanks again for being so cooperative. I'm just one guy after all, so your help and correspondence means more than I can properly express at this time. After doing some fidgeting I have some more, hopefully straightforward, questions. 1) Once you establish a time in which you reach the duel as quickly as possible, should replicating that exact duel, meaning your hands and your opponent's cards, be achievable? (Assuming your timing is exact.) I have startup runs where I move as quickly and accurately as possible--and I have another setup run using audio cues at a much slower albeit much more accurate timing (I would think). In a dozen or better test runs using both methods I cannot replicate anything, whether that means my starting hands/cards or opponent's monster(s). Does this mean I am not executing my timing well enough? 2) I have had to adjust my "perfect duel" script. I am now using fusions on each of my three turns. The question: does combining a monster and an equip magic card constitute a "fusion"? Or does the word "fusion" only designate the combining of two or more monsters? 3) Due to Guardian Sebek using Metalzoa (3000 ATK) about half of the time, should I expect and plan to use "quicks"? I would assume so, i.e. one "quick" on each of the two turns for each of my opponent's monsters (whether in attack or defense mode). 4) Lastly, more in the vein of my first question: just how difficult is this manipulation to accomplish? It seems everything hinges around the timing of frames (naturally); but, it seems to me next to impossible (at this time) to accomplish repeatable results. How can I expect to time things properly if I can not repeat my opening hands on test runs? Even if my timing isn't EXACT--surely I've had runs within even half of a second from my base timing. Does the timing really need to be as perfect as I fear? If so, how can this be viable to execute? I believe in the video, of course, but sheesh. If you're still with me, answer only at your convenience. Thanks.
@@dovonovich 1 and 4.) Yes, the timing really is that exact unfortunately. See, in speedruns that use this particular manipulation, we usually try to find more than one frame in a row that give favorable results. During Final 6 manipulations in speedruns, all we really want to do is win the duel (meaning all we have to do is draw two MBDs in the first few cards, and have the AI play something weaker). So, we look through lots of frames to find an area where there's many frames next to each other (usually around 20 frames) that ALL have two MBDs drawn in the first 7 cards AND have easy modes on the AI. If you're trying to do this manipulation to hit a single frame, it's going to be very difficult to replicate (hence why it isn't done in the speedrun). I once created a manipulation to win Metalzoa, just for fun, and it took me a ton of attempts to hit the correct single frame. It definitely is possible to get very good at hitting a single frame, but it will almost always be inconsistent because being accurate within 1/60th of a second over and over again is insane. This is why the speedruns find more than one frames next to each other: it increases consistency massively and makes it easier to do during a speedrun. 2.) Fusions only count when two cards actually fuse together and the animation plays (where two cards swirl around one another before forming a new card), so using equips would not count as a fusion. However, not much testing as been done to see how equips actually affect manips. If it changes your rank it would affect it, but outside of that I don't think it would really do anything. Unless it alters rank, you should be good. 3.) Yes, using quicks is what you want there. The issue is that some duels might have Metalzoa (a card always in attack) while some might have a defense monster. Because of this, when you attack, the animations would be different depending on whether or not the monster you're destroying is in defense or attack. By doing quick 3D duels (literally hitting square to initiate a 3D duel and then mashing circle to cancel it immediately), it makes the animation the exact same regardless of whether monsters are in atk or def mode, thus creating that consistency we require. So, if you're trying to hit a range of frames, and some frames have the AI playing an attack mode monster, while some have the AI playing a defense mode monster, using quicks is the way to make it consistent across the board. I think I answered everything! If you have any more questions I'd be more than happy to answer!
Hello, I have a problem with the script. I wanna drop Dark Energy from Mage Soldier with a B POW. So i decided to set the number of turn for the perfect duel to 5. The problem is that the generated csv file still considers that i chose 3 turn to finish the duel (only the first 15 cards of my deck display), and the drops of course doesn't contain the Dark Energy card since it doesn't see it as a B POW but a S or A POW. My other parameters in the script are correctly set : array of 5 elements for fusion and dumps, 4 for the others. Is there an other parameter or value to change ? Thanks in advance
Earth Shaker What do you have all the variables set to, if you don't mind me asking? The duel just being 5 turns long isn't enough to get a B-POW. Also, unfortunately I'm pretty sure the script will ALWAYS only generate 15 cards of your deck. It should, however, generate more rows to show what the enemy plays on each turn. So, if you have a 3, turn duel as I do in this video, it shows two monsters the enemy plays. However, in your case, it should show more. Let me know! I'll work with you to get this working.
So for example i decided to set dumps to [4,4,4,0,0] and fusion to [0, 0, 0, 1, 1] ect (the other variables are consistent with that kind of duel) It still shows me the first 15 cards of the deck, but also only 2 cards played by my opponent. So it's like it considers i put '3' as value of number of turns.... But i set it to 5. And the script is running well to generate the csv file. And the of course, Dark Energy doesn't appear among the possible drops whatever the frame number is. So should try to simulate a B POW on your own script, and see if you have the same problem (try for exemple ISIS and Widespread Ruins)
Earth Shaker Sorry, I thought I replied earlier. I wrote this out hours ago and thought I sent it. Whoops. Okay, I obtained some JUICY information from GenericMadScientist! I'll be adding this to a follow up video. Thanks for asking! So, there IS a way to set the script to BCD-POW /AND/ to set it so that more card draws are shown. Open the script up in your editor (like Notepad). On line 64, you will see this: "opp_drop_pool = read_pool(opponent, PoolType.SA_POW)" On that line, change where it says "SA_POW" to "BCD". So, the edited line 64 should be: "opp_drop_pool = read_pool(opponent, PoolType.BCD)" This will set it to output BCD ranks only. You can also change it to say "SA_TEC" for SA-TECs. Now, for how many cards you can see for your draws. On line 39, you will see this: "row += [str(i) for i in deck[0:15]]" You see that 15 at the end? That's how many cards the script will display in the spreadsheet. You can change that to any number up to 40. Changing those two things will work! Now, remember, you still have to script a perfect duel that actually GETS a B rank. Just 5 turns isn't enough. Make sure you do fusions OR use a magic as well. This will ensure your rank! Thank you for asking. I'd like to ask you to please keep me informed on your progress on this, as no one has ever used the script to do this before! I am very interested. Good luck!
GFC_ actually i noticed the « 15 » on the [0;15] range and well though it was linked to the number of cards displayed, but i wanted to wait for your answer to be sure :) Thanks alos for the second change of the « BCD » POW :) But I noticed something else ! I wanted to get Skull Knight from Meadow Mage. After several try i finally fall on the right frame : the hand was the exact same as the expected one, and i followed perfectly the steps i set for a perfect duel. However, i got silver fang. The reason for this : the meadow mage decided to play SOGEN ! instead of stamp battleguard (and he should have play succubus knight after that if i remember well). The fact is that, in the excel file.... it’s never mentionned that he can play sogen as the very first cards. This leads to almost have no chance to drop the desired card against the mages ! I know it’s harder to test but i can guarantee i was on the right frame and my 15 next cards matched perfectly (i quick saved my game to get back to the beginning of the duel with a quick load, i’m on epsxe)
This would have been nice to know about 15 years ago haha.
First time i played no one tolds me abput meadow mage. It lasts a life to win the meteor b. Dragon just by luck.

@@marcozancan2433 I didn't either as a kid. Got to Knightmare multiple times but he played a blue eyes ultimate dragon nearly every time. I came back to it a few years ago and found the drop lists and beat it fairly easily with some grinding for cards
I beat this game with twin headed dragon only and traps with magics

Fantastic. It blows my mind how after years and years of people just accepting the insane randomness of an old game from well more than a decade ago and spending 800 to 1,000 duels just to get one card, we finally get information like this showing how the drops can be fixed without cheating or expert hacking. No hardcore researcher of this game ever ceases to amaze me in showing how much depth this game really has.

before watching this I watched his speedrun video and imagine my disbelief seeing him getting 3 MBDs consecutively after I've spent 2 days winning over a hundred matches against Heishin and not a single one has dropped 😂😂😂
You just made my 10-year old self so happy. After almost 2 decades I can finally get a Blue-Eyes in FM thanks to this guide. 🤣
Took me 317 duels against Seto 3 to get a single copy of it :)
I got mine after just 17 :P but it took me 390 fucking duels to get my first Meteor Black Dragon against low meadow mage.
Nah. MBD was easy for me. S-Tec duels for equip cards and fucking Blue-Eyes were the worst for me

In conclusion, the normal game is impossible

• copy account to 2 out of 3 memory cards

• trade purchased card to memory card that still has optimal star chip count
• keep overriding spent account with billionaire account after trading valuable card to billionaire account
the only requirement is winning a few million games!
To be exact, I'm pretty sure it's 200,000
Amazing, took me a bit to get the right opening hand, and a few perfect opening hands with different frames than what i needed to win, but eventually once i did get the right frame and played the duel out accordingly I got a Meteor B. EVERYONE: It has come to my attention that the script will NOT work on SOME certain languages other than English. The reason is interesting AND is fixable.
WATCH THIS VIDEO FOR THE FIX - ruclips.net/video/hVvsBRAwdF8/видео.html
At the very end of every duel, the words "YOU WIN" appear.
Thank you!
Hi! Could you edit the script for the Spanish version of the game too, please? The "You Win" screen has 4 characters in Spanish.

after watching this I think it s easier to just play normally to win the cards you want :D I got a MBD, Meteor Dragon, Red Eye and only Thunders Dragons, 3 Umis, 3 DT, 2 DE, 1 WSR after 300 Meadow Mage, 200 Isis and less than 50 Joeys and Mage soldiers.
I bought one of those devices you connect to the tv and has this game in it. Thanks for the guide I didn’t want to break anything this time

I may have to try and do this method, luckily I took a programming course this semester and understood everything in that script.

i mean if you are exicted to try that rng manipulation do it to satisfy your need. BUT do it in different account/save.
Metalzoa is much harder to get by chance. Although Seto 3rd is tough it's still easier for him to drop a BEWD.
The script was:
1. 4 turns
2. No dumps, no fusion, no quicks, no gs, no direct low
3. Enemy dest 1, 1, 1
4. Directs 1, 2, 1
I was aiming for MBD and got frame at 680, but I won Fiend's Hand instead. I tested again with random frame and yield different card with the program. Maybe it doesn't work on android or duckstation? Or was it something i did wrong?
EDIT: found the mistake after reading RealPrincyy's comment. I thought enemy_dest was the number of monster I destroyed.
Hi GFC , I would like to know where can I get the spreadsheet for manipulation?
So if you play with ps1 or ps2?
Cheers and have a great night, day, week, month, year, decade, and life,

Can you still get the card ratio even without hacking?
I just don’t understand this
I play free duel over and over get s rank and still get super weak cards
thanks for that comprehensive tutorial. Can you make another one with, a split screen, where you explain each step ?
I discovered that you can win cards in this game at the last three duels after two years of playing ahahah and I got casually two black dragon in two day ..
FINALLY this will change me forever
I just found this and tried it, the script in the link is gone. Can you reupload
If you end a duel with, for example, 1 direct low and 2 direct highs, you'll win "Card A", but if you end that exact same duel with 1 direct low and 3 direct highs, you'll win a different card, or "Card B."
Doing more or less of ANY variable shown in this video (fusions, direct low/highs, turns, etc) doesn't necessarily give you better or worse drops.
"I got my only MBD and cards like Gaia, Dark Magician and Skull Knight by hitting exactly 8000 life points on a perfect duel"
Yeah, that's just coincidence, unfortunately.
When exactly I need to start the countdown?? It's after pressing Start button on main menu?
You know... I never noticed but yugioh duelist of the roses reincarnation uses the same framerule
15 card drop not work :(. Is it have other fmdatabase?
I took me 3800 duels to get the perfect deck.
3 metor b dragons.
3 metor dragons.
3 red eyes black dragon
3 megamorph.
3 bright castle.
3 dragon treasure.
2 mountain
2 crush cards (against seto and nightmare for blue eyes ultimate dragon)
3 blue eyes white dragon.
3 twin headed thunder dragon
3 sanga the thunder god
3 thunder dragons.
3 harpies pet dragon
3 kaiser dragons.
Which you win by that point
You can also get 2500atk/2300 def. Seyiraru outta the password list. Hes solid.
Gives bonus 500 attack to a few dragons. Like skull dragon with 3200.
I need to learn Python myself.
Idk if you still answer questions, but I have the game on SuperPSX plus emulator on my android phone. It is possible to still do the rng manipulation?
Yeah it's possible to do rng manipulation on anything, if you can play the game you can do rng manipulation. But the research has to be done on a computer. But once you have a strategy, you can use that exact same strategy on any version of the game and it will work.
@@GFC_FM does save states makes the manipulation much easier? I beat 50 times Meadow mage and no MBD same with jono 2nd and heishin twice and no MBD
Does the PAL version have a different framerate? In order to divide the number for the timer. And also, If I used the time I need to got to Heishin, how do I adjust it for moving up to Jono 2nd?
Well yes the eu games are tied to 50HZ soooo the frames are messed up
The line on the Spreadsheet will be the exactly the same as my first 10 cards?
I swear to god i'm doing everything right but i can't fucking find the right line on spreadsheet...
i'm even using macro to speed every ms i can on the loading screen till the round starts...
How do I make my own YGO Forbidden Memories Mod?
Can somebody please tell me who you can win seiyaru from i cant find on neoseeker or anywhere online that confirms this card yet i have 3 of them
You can't. Seiyaryu can only be purchased once on the password menu. If you got 3 of them you are probably playing a mod (if your game is a copy) or cloned it through the 3 memory cards method
This RNG method works in mod 13? And if yes, how it works (since the drops are different)?
how do i open the notepad with python? ive got python downloaded i think but its not letting me open the file with anything other than notepad
I'm just downloading a strong deck lmao this some crazy shit
Genious! Tysm. Does this works on Mac?
Blue-Eyes Ultimate can obtainable from seto.. seto 3 is commonly.
Gatr guardian is obtainable too.. but i forgot who drop
So it's 100% certain.
ruclips.net/video/vJ_ySO1OwvI/видео.html watch this vid.
Also i know that because i got ultimate in my child after beat seto 3 in real PS1.
Cheers!
So I would have to do this method for every diferent card I want, and every diferent duelist?
I tried to do with Pegasus, but the script automatically close down, and I cheked the note, I did nothing wrong.
Such intellect put to the service of literally one of the worst games ever designed.
I mean, someone could say the same exact thing about literally any game in existence considering whether a game is good or bad is subjective.
I like Forbidden Memories because I find it fun and the speedrunning community is my favorite. That's really all there is to it.
@@GFC_FM Fair.
I still dont understand,, hmm so we just reset the console and play trial n error until found that card?
on your Speedrun (1:19:28) you created a NEW GAME on the Beginning. How could you know what Cards you have? How could you know that you can play the perfect duell with them as you explained in this video ?
F J Because every frame that you start a new game on gives you a different deck. So starting a new game on frame 100 will give you the same deck every time.
so can we get all the cards without cheating?
And also this means that there is no programming error? What options are included in the original game?
As I am facing Jono 2nd any duel is my perfect duel cause my deck is way too powerful than his, so i look at the cards i have and I try to recognize the frame, anyway I'll try:
On turn 1, I play any of my monsters with 2500+ atk face up, just because he can't attack them, end my turn.
That's it, gfc bro ;) now waiting for an ultra manipulated world record stream hahaha cheers
At 9:55, why does your dumps change from 0 to 1? Is it not supposed to be 0?
Dubu Dubu Just from some random video cuts probably
Thats not true gate guardian can be dropped iv done it twice!!! It drops from the mages boss guy I forget his name.
would this work on a PS3 console when I play FM
manip 100% run when

The way you duel can lock out some drops? Like you may never receive x card if you dont win using fusions or something especial?
Hello, does Rng work on Forbidden Memories Mods??
Thanks man, this will help me a lot :D
Stitched Clone Glad to hear it! Enjoy!
The link for Eontimer 1.6 is dead :(
Do you need to put traps or magic or equip spells
22:30 this part of the steps it came 2 of the same cards written by 28 and 29 for me in my hand what do i do? idk which is which
If that happens there's no real way to tell which it is, you'll have to first check 28 and then check 29 for an exact match
and if i play with a mod that has the drop of te ultimate i can use this to pull it ?
I think you would need to modify the csv file the program accesses in order to add the card to the enemy that drops it and see what happens
hey man, you got a link for the games emulator/download file for pc in english?
I cannot seem to find the RNG manipulation script? Where is the script available?

Sorry. I was dumb. I did not see the [SHOW MORE] box. Thank you very much.
Malik Olivier Boussejra No problem!
This do work on mods?
So for example i decided to set dumps to [4,4,4,0,0] and fusion to [0, 0, 0, 1, 1] ect (the other variables are consistent with that kind of duel)
It still shows me the first 15 cards of the deck, but also only 2 cards played by my opponent.
On line 64, you will see this: "opp_drop_pool = read_pool(opponent, PoolType.SA_POW)"
On that line, change where it says "SA_POW" to "BCD".
So, the edited line 64 should be: "opp_drop_pool = read_pool(opponent, PoolType.BCD)"
This will set it to output BCD ranks only. You can also change it to say "SA_TEC" for SA-TECs.
Now, for how many cards you can see for your draws. On line 39, you will see this: "row += [str(i) for i in deck[0:15]]"
You see that 15 at the end? That's how many cards the script will display in the spreadsheet. You can change that to any number up to 40.
Changing those two things will work! Now, remember, you still have to script a perfect duel that actually GETS a B rank. Just 5 turns isn't enough. Make sure you do fusions OR use a magic as well. This will ensure your rank!
Thank you for asking. I'd like to ask you to please keep me informed on your progress on this, as no one has ever used the script to do this before! I am very interested.
Good luck!
GFC_ actually i noticed the « 15 » on the [0;15] range and well though it was linked to the number of cards displayed, but i wanted to wait for your answer to be sure :)
Thanks alos for the second change of the « BCD » POW :)
But I noticed something else !
Earth Shaker I'll take a look into that for sure.
Can you try getting S tec cards with this trick? It sounds really hard
quick question how do you get the scrip into note pad ++?
i downloaded the scrip but cannot edit it.
thank you
Cesar Cornejo You just go into notepad and open it lol?
Iam so confused :( can someone explain me, how to do thaaatt ??
Saiqul Kencoz That's what the video is for lol
GFC_ i played the video twice and i just arrgghh, my bad, ill try
Saiqul Kencoz It is pretty confusing man, I know. If you have any specific questions I can help!
Saiqul Umam I’m confused too
Yeah, so this trick isn't playable in ps1, only
in emulators? Confused as well
