I want to thank you so much for this video. I was having nothing but problems trying to spray paint my cups. Constantly getting wrinkles and bubbles, so frustrating. Then I tried your technique and it went on perfectly no problems. Thank you soo much.
Thank you for that wonderful tip all this time I was using my wrist. And I didn't know about turning the spray can to stop it from clogging up so much paint wasted.
I'm happy I found your video - I'm a novice spray painter/diy-er and you taught me a lot about how to avoid drips. 🙂 Thanks. - expat Canuck who remembers only-too-well Canadian winters 🥶😬🥴
I wish I had watched this video before I wasted a whole can of copper spray color. It was dripping and running as soon as I started I I wiped with a cloth to get rid of it but that made it worst plus had 3 piece to spray with one can paint so it was not enough ..I didn't wait to dry between coats. I may have to sand the bad parts and get a new can to respray and do as you suggested in the video. Bummer!1😕 Thank you a million
Oh no! I find metallics are more likely to run that non metallics as well. Especially when they don't have a built in primer. Make sure you use a primer first and definitely take your time with it. Light coats are going to be your friend.
It depends. You can try Samsung with a fine grit sandpaper, clean and spray again. If I need it to be completely and perfectly smooth though I clean with acetone and start again. Sometimes I will just use that blank for another project that I will be making with texture that will cover the drip.
I tried an N95 mask and a total face covering (I could see through) and broke out on my arm, face, eyes, and ears. So getting a respirator may be the solution for using epoxy resin. THanks. Very good video.
Very good video. I am too spastic to do the short bursts. 🤣. You covered everything needed to know. Thank you for that. Very informative. EXCELLENT. 🥰❤️🇨🇦
I have a couple questions. Where do you spray your tumblers in the winter? Would the cold air outside affect it? Also, all that overspray, doesn’t it get on your skin and clothes? I wish I had a spray booth to catch and filter all that overspray.
I will run outside, spray and run back in. I wear old clothing or clothes specific for working in. I try to prep tumblers only on good weather days. I'm working on a plan for a spray booth with ventilation in my garage. But that is still awhile away.
Your video helped a lot. I noticed the first layer you did solid spray, the next you did short burst. How do you determine when to do what? I apologize if you said it in the video, im watching this while our tv is on lol.
You can do it either way. I was showing how you can do it both. If you have a gloss paint or want to blend colours, I find the short bursts are easier. They also use less paint. But it can get tiring if you're doing a lot.
Your base paint should always have at the very least a built in primer. After the paint is dry, you can wash it if you need to with mild soap and water. Just don't use anything abrasive and be careful not to scratch it. It will be easy to scratch without the sealer. You will need the epoxy sealer to make it safe for incidental contact with food.
Mostly, yes. Unless it is below 20 °C. Then I will spray in my garage. I try to check forecasts in advance and prep tumblers when the weather is good. But you can't always plan that.
I cover respirators to an extent in this video. It discusses what type of filter and cartridge you'll need as well as good to tell if your respirator had a good seal ruclips.net/video/PhxSB8L-FjI/видео.html
For sure the wind. I definitely will spray in my garage with the door open on windy days. I find I don't have issues with the bubbling as long as it's above -15° C
Depending. If you are adding glitter or texture over the drips, you should be fine (especially with a more opaque glitter), but if your spray paint needs to be smooth, you will need to wipe it off and start again.

Oh the winters. I already miss summer and Fall only technically started yesterday lol
Who would believe this tutorial was needed - I learned it was!
Thank you 🖤
How about the tumblers cover !? How do you do it?
Sorry, I'm only just seeing this now. I used plastic containers from Ikea and cut on opening for the arm.
Did I hear 'Canadian Tire'? S-weet. Now we're talking. A fellow Canadian. Stores will be the same. Must subscribe...
You did! I'm in Ontario :)

I needed this! Thank you
You're welcome 😁
What do you do if get a few drips? Sand?

This was helpful.. What can I do about the tumblers that I have drip?
Any textured tumbler will work. Even an opaque glitter will cover most drips.
Thank you!
Great video Lou Lou -
Thank you 💜

If you are having reactions on your skin, you may need a full PPE suit.

How do you seal it after the you complete it
This channel specializes in epoxy resin tumblers :)

Are u aloud to use regular spray paint and also are u aloud to wash it without messing up the paint

@@LovelyLouLouDesigns on will mod Podge work
@@W3lchfruitsnacks not as a final coat sealer.
Great advice!!! I will do that!! Thank you
You are so welcome!
Do you still spray outside during the winter?
Mostly, yes. Unless it is below 20 °C. Then I will spray in my garage. I try to check forecasts in advance and prep tumblers when the weather is good. But you can't always plan that.
@@LovelyLouLouDesigns thank you. I live in Chicago and we are getting slammed this year so I was wondering.
I'm sorry to hear that. Despite being Canadian, I don't do winter well. I hibernate. 😂🤣
Can you making tutorial video about how to wear and fit check Respirator mask, i hope you can make it

@@LovelyLouLouDesigns i hope you can making tutorial video, please
Can these be used to sublimate on?
No. You need tumblers that have a special sublimation coating on them. DAHT Merchandise sells sub tumblers as well.
I can't spray the tumblers outside 😩 because is cold
I hear you. We're entering that weather here now too. I run outside, spray and run back in 😂🤣
@@LovelyLouLouDesigns lol 😆 I did last year but I noticed the cold or wind make bubbles in the paint

@@LovelyLouLouDesigns ♥ thanks 😊
Can u smell the paint through the mask
what if you get drips? can you fix? or do you strip and start over?

@@LovelyLouLouDesigns Thanks
How do you spray it, without getting the inside spray painted ?
I just clean the inside with a Magic eraser and acetone.
Great video:) looks like overspray is painting your table as well :)
Thank you! And yes, occasionally my spray gun comes out in my workshop. I can't have nice things 🤣🤣
Where do you get your tumblers from ?
I order mine in bulk direct from manufacturer.
oh, yeah thank you for this tutorial.. the only thing i could find was stupid illegal taggers... oh gosh i hate taggers. but thanks for the vid:)
You're welcome!
