    I’ve been pretty much building my turbo Miata at the same rate you’ve been making these videos. Have been boosted for about a month now, never been dyno tuned and pretty much did everything in this video. Especially word to caution on spark map tuning. Keep it very conservative. Other than that, balling on a ebay budget at around $1800 for everything except a clutch and it’s been awesome. I love this series.

      CashedOutCars - I wouldn’t call them “budget”, I see them as a few gentlemen who remember that greed isn’t the name of the game. They’re a company motivated by genuine goals of helping provide a good quality product to people that aren’t chasing popularity, a true auto enthusiasts company. They’ve gone above and beyond to help me when I had wiring issues with my car, they’ve always been spot on with any questions I’ve had, never leaving me waiting too long. I cant hardly wait to get their COPS kit on my na6 Miata, I stopped making my own just because I wanted to support them. Vote with your dollars, it’s the most effective way to show support in this age.

    • @CashedOutCars
      @CashedOutCars  3 года назад +1

      You may be able to squeeze a bit more performance out with a remap, but likely you'd be able to do that on stock injectors. Once you start upping the boost and upgrading parts or your turbo then you'd be more likely to be pushing the limits of the injector. It all depends on what car it is though!

    • @CashedOutCars
      @CashedOutCars  3 года назад

      Essentially, if there’s a base map already made that’s tried and true on your engine start with that. It’s a great place to get the car started and generally have a safe spark table. And then from there you can dial in your VE table to get the car running well. Id suggest not messing with spark tables too much unless you have a good ear for knocking or a knock sensor, as advancing your timing too much can lead to failure

    • @CashedOutCars
      @CashedOutCars  3 года назад +3

      That’d be an interesting build, you’ll be pretty power limited compared to a turbo setup and it’ll likely become more expensive. Remember all factory Turbo’d cars run with the same lubricant as the engine so it’s not something to be scared of. Leave any questions you have on my turbo guide on my channel!

    • @WorstPaperCut
      @WorstPaperCut 3 года назад +1

      @@CashedOutCars Yes, oh and im talking about the oil line thats running from the new drill hole in the oil pan that runs to the turbo. Im not fond of the idea using the engine oil for a power booster. Superchargers usually have their own oil lines that doesnt rely on the engine's oil.

    • @CashedOutCars
      @CashedOutCars  3 года назад

      That’s just a drain line that runs from the turbo to the oil pan! The oil is for lubrication only and isn’t consumed by the turbo. But yes most super chargers do have their own oil source for lubrications. In a sense it’s another maintenance item you’ll have to keep up with. Fantastic tutorial! I have been on the fence about boosting my nissan hardbody for a couple years now because I like the idea of tuning myself but don't want to bring it to anyone for a tune. I want to keep it easy to work on, not make it a pain in the ass and unreliable. Looks like my first part for boost will be a stand alone ECU. Thanks for the tips. Im looking at the megasquirt pnp or maybe the microsquirt so i can swap it between different cars. Wish I had known about VE analyzer sooner or I would have had it making boost by now. I gapped the rings for boost on the block I rebuilt so I think its time for some boost.
