Loads of people use FX way too much, usually to cover dodgy transitions. Personally I feel you should treat FX like icing on a cake, a little bit is kind of sweet, but too much can make people sick. Personally I think the EQ is your cake and before even considering FX I would master the EQ.
By far the best on RUclips!
Thanks mate. BTW new course site went live last night.
Hiding a transition in filters on both channels is a nice trick! Thanks )
16:00 "It's more about playing the best parts of each songs and arranging them in a way that people are gonna respond to it" Great advice!
6:54 - I could just hid the transition here.
That is a mind-blowing insight. Thanks for these videos.
Just wait man, you are gonna blow up. This tutorial would have been sick to reference as a new DJ. 💯
I assure you sir, your hypothesis is 100% correct 👍
This got to be the best quality tutorial Ive ever seen. I'm an amateur dj and you are by far my best "teacher". Thank you brother. You are going to blow up for sure.
Hey bro. How are you doing now 3 years later from this comment?
I'm still on training wheels but this all makes complete sense and I do a lot of this naturally without realizing it
Glad i found this channel, not really looking for full on tutorials but like seeing different takes on DJing. Your enjoyment at just jamming makes me smile.
My first controller is DDJ200 and during the first 4 or 6 months i adored the effects. But after a while i really understood that who am I to add whatever to the finally composes and created thing of another very well tallanted perso. I'd rather sneak and steal away the attention by switching on the new one, that also has cool base and vocal.
You are so Smiley man, love your tutorials, truly helpful
Yes very true, since doing Rekord box & using my DDJ 400 , I focus more on mixing skills, because music is key.. add few fxs on the transition to give it flavour as people are there to listen be immersed in the music & remember listening this advice before and works, so thanks
I've not seen any other dj-ing tutorials explaining on how to dj the way you do. Ive subscribed Keep it up m8👍
Oh & great personality you have with the smiles. 🙂
Awesome, thank you!
Just played my first public set! Can't thank you enough for all the knowledge I have gained from your videos. You never over do your videos to "show off" and you made me feel very comfortable with learning the basics.
I have to say, one of the best teachers who love what he is doing... I enjoy watching
so helpful! nothing really clicked until I found your channel👌👌
Omg by far the best on youtube. The amount of detail of explanation is amazing. Love your enthusiasm and passion. Keep up the great work 🙌🏾🙌🏾
This was awesome, gonna sign up for the course 🤙🏼. New student from LA
You won't regret it buddy, it's my life's work and you will be very happy with the pace :) Welcome to the Club Ready Tribe
Thank you! You're my fave teacher on RUclips
LOVE your videos man. I don't comment often at all but your videos are seriously helpful and I hope you continue making them.
Really enjoying your DJ skills and learning all the time in this digital world of music keep up the good work 👍
..Agreed, Number One DJ Tutor Out There 🤜🏽🤛🏽
If you use a Allen and Heath DB4... You definitely will want to use the effects. Why? Because they are so well implemented. Panny's effects suck so it's no wonder you really didn't want to use them much.
Definitely the best and most in depth DJ school on RUclips for house. I am learning how to mix and your videos are absolutely amazing!!!
love your videos, please make one specifically for the fx panel not just the sound colour fx
I second this, how about a tutorial on non color effects. Thanks!
Superb video, just found your channel, been DJing for over 25 years, but always learning, great use of eq’s for transitioning, new sub 🎧🎤😎
I love this guys’ smile. He grins like a cheeky little boy! Great vids too btw!
Awesome as always. I would say, which a lot of online resources make the mistake of is confusing beats with bars. Just a terminology mix up but as id say phrasing is one of the hardest fundamentals of DJing, it’s important to be as clear as possible for beginners.
I am way clearer in my online course haha ;)
God i love watching your videos! Going to buy your course very soon!! :) cant wait!
So helpful every time keep up the good work
Man I just love the way you break things down so even a blockhead like me can understand. Kudo's to you. I just subscribed. Look forward to seeing more of your videos. Glad I found you.
Awesome, thank you!

Really helpful and insightful, thanks!
Great Video
Dude, unreal tutorials!
Thanks so much Mark :)
Very good advices!
Absolute legend
i love your chanel and your videos thanks
Respect man!
Whats the name of the tune he starts bringing in at around 11minutes that he said he really liked?? please!
It's detailed in the video description - Breathe by Camelphat
@@adambloomer4758 Thank you for the reply I googled the lyrics not long after comenting, Thanks very much👌🎶
Traktor (s4mk3) mixer effects are just so much better and more useful than Pio color effects, it's a pity. Actually those should be called color effects, and this mixer effects, not the other way around :)
U beautiful legend
Can you make a video on where to put cue points?? Preferably on tech / tech house music
Already done - you'll want to check this out - in my free dj mini course: www.clubreadydjschool.com/free-videos/
Sick!
Thanks Deeperz :) I have the techno one planned for the next batch I film, still may be a few weeks, but am excited for it - just juggling a few things
Club Ready DJ School Take it easy mate! I am actually planning one of my first gigs in 3 weeks, so would be nice to have if before that 😜
Club Ready DJ School Just keep up the good work! Really like the tutorials, as one of the better ones om youtube for sure
i didnt saw , what is doing this FILTER button
Awesome🙏🏼
🙌
Song at 17:50?
wow, track ID for the really short example at 2:15 ?
thoughts on rotary mixers?
🤔 *Curious question:* Let's say you're about to go into the new song, but your new song is on a completely different key (ex. 3A > 8A).
*How would one approach it?*
There are so many variables to this question: eg: are you mixing into a break or outro - if so no issue, the only real issue with conflicting keys comes in when you have melody / vocal on melody / vocal, but in saying that some tracks sound better together than others and energy even comes into it. I go into this way more in my course but short answer mess around and do what feels right to you and always have high standards - don't try and force something that isn't working.
@@ClubReadyDJSchool (nods) Gotcha.
I suppose to be a bit more specific in what I was asking, the intention is per se: Song A (3A-128bpm) is going into it's first breakdown, meaning it's just fulfilled it's first chorus. Ideally no vocals are in yet, but it'll kick back in after 4 bars/16 beats. As one gets ready to move into Song B (8A-128bpm) by beat matching from intro, they want to change the tone of the energy but use A as a bit of a back beat, if that makes sense.
There is a set that I could point to as a reference, but only if you're okay with it. I want to be mindful and respectful of not posting any links or any way that would defer from this video as it is *EXTREMELY* informative.
Regardless, I suppose I can see how playing by ear can work. After all, that is one of the creative parts of DJing, if you think about it.
(💧Sorry for the big read.)
I'm guilty of the excess flanger I must admit...
What gear are you running?
CDJ 900NXS and DJM 900NXS
Track ID for around 6 minutes?
Luca M & JUST2 - The Power (Stefano Noferini Re-Edit)
ruclips.net/video/EBSYFV8zIUE/видео.html
What's that character name in your thumbnail??
It's Baby Groot lol
11 people using way too much flanger
2020: “That’s why club gear doesn’t have those pads.” Later 2020: “CDJ-3000: What?” :)))

Bald would suit you 🤔 .. just saying 🤓
