When I decided to dedicate my first tattoo to my favourite game, I didn't want to get the mark of the outsider. Now I have a lore-accurate reason as to why it was a bad move, hearing how even ingame characters wanted to be like the marked ones. Anyway I have a shrine of the outsider tattooed on my forearm, maybe it's not that much better, but I enjoy the idea of the reference being not so obvious
That's sick - my first tattoo (in three weeks) is also going to be inspired by Dishonored, but I'm getting the Heart instead. I don't think I've seen any Outsider shrine tattoos before, that's super cool.
@@Tigercup9 I was considering the heart, but couldn't figure where I'd want it? Maybe ask you if you're getting it on your chest area or somewhere else?
Anyone who devotes excessive time to studying The Outsider is pretty much a guarantee he won't mark them. He might visit them, but he would find these individuals boring.
@victornewman-jc6lp It seems like the situation someone is in. He gives his powers to the uniquely downtrodden, ambitious and morally questionable individuals. Corvo is a fall from grace and was given an opportunity. The Rat boy was always a poor kid with nothing, and again, the Outsider gave him opportunity. Deliah had a mystique about her being the long distant friend of the empress and then just faded out of a spotlight. Then the Outsider gave her power for her to do as she wished. Daud was an orphan street kid if I remember and is pretty similar to the Rat Boy only difference is what they chose to do with their powers.
4:05 and through a book set after the death of the outsider we find out what really killed him which puts the interactions with his (accidental) "killer" into a new light....
Your videos are the best. I'm currently watching your loreplay and it's SO GOOD. I love that the Outsider doesn't consider interesting people like Sokolov. I guess he is not... bold enough for him?? Or broken enough, hmm.
The outsider says he can see different choices that we are yet to make... So not only is every playthrough cannon but so is emily and corvo... high and low chaos. So if Billy can remember her past in a different timeline then would corvo and Emily not both start to remember both being the hero of dishonored 2 and the one turned yo stone... (Also dishonored having a cannon is just stupid) But yeah food for thought.
Thanks for the video, really enjoyed it. Plan on buying your book, soon. I'm also making my own, it's about dishonored, story will involve protagonist being marked and it mentions another one, a witch from Tyvia
Hey, I love your content! Are you by any chance planning to make videos on Deathloop and its connections to Dishonored? Considering it takes place in the same universe decades or even centuries after D2, it gives an interesting glimpse at the future of this world, worth a video or two IMO.
I've been asked this several times, so I've decided to make this my standard answer to this question: I love Dishonored for many reasons, but mostly because of the lore and the early industrial aesthetic. I have not yet played Deathloop, so I don’t think I’m the best person to make a video on it. If this is a topic you’re interested in, I genuinely urge you to consider making a video yourself. I guarantee you would do a better job of it than I ever could. I make all my videos using free software, so my only investment is time. And if I can do it anyone can.
I think one of the reason he marked people is that he can see the potential future out of their actions. Also I hate how the studio changed the Outsider character and his voice actor, if I was the director I would force a remake with original voice actor.
This was an amazing video, it was very interesting to see all the characters who wielded the outsider’s mark… ironically I’m planning to get that tattooed on my hand.
You know, I've been wondering for some time now - If the Outsider is the manifestation of the Void, does that suggest that the Void has some sort of sapient willpower? Like, is it some sort of an eldrich god-like thing that has some sort of a plan, and it needs the Outsider to perform it? or is it rather so that the Void is simply concentrated on the Outsider, but other than that he is simply a "normal man with superpowers", who just does his own thing using the fact that he is a demi-god? So far I fell like the second option is more correct, as it all seems to be some sort of Outsider's curiosity to se warious outcomes come to pass, but I wonder - what it would look like if the first part was true? As if the Void actually wanted it all to happen as it did? And if the low-chaos endings are usually cannon - that would mean the Void is not that evil? I hope this is a good point for debate here!
So the outsider is just as like to mark Trump, Hilary, Biden or Harris? 😮😅 choosing people based on if they're interesting is wild! But i guess, also kinda reflects real life 😅
The ideia of the Outsider giving power to the ones he find interesting is a very interesting take that i sure would be very interesting in our world
I think that’s kind of what it said in dishonored one
Hmm interesting
Facts, that would be interesting. And it’s very interesting that you pointed out how interesting it is. Interesting…

What makes someone interesting to him?

Literally just finished another run, the upload timing is insane lol
Love the lore videos man watched them all in a day. Keep them coming!
Keep doing this you keep the community alive ❤

There is also the visionaries from death loop. While they are not marked, their abilities come from the void kind of like Billie's

I was JUST thinking about if you did a vid on this subject a few days ago... the Outsider heard my prayer
