"is the black guy's stand a chicken?" lmao, that's great. Joking aside it's supposed to be a phoenix. But yeah Jojo's is great, just an absolute treasure trove of culture, history, music and art, and while seemingly a "weird" on the surface s really just a great exploration of ideas made by the man behind it all Araki. He's absolutely obsessed with all the before mentioned ideas and explores them in a way that was truly groundbreaking for it's time. For instance he is really inspired by classical sculptures, and uses them and their poses in really creative ways throughout the show, and really leans into the absurdness of it all in a fun way. Hope you have a great time with this series and all it's quirks, for there is really nothing like it.
@@KuntaKobra Yes they do! Part 1 - England Part 2 - New York/Mexico/Europe Part 3 - All across Asia and eventually Africa Part 4- Japan Part 5 - Italy Part 6 - Florida Part 7 - cross country race from California to New York Part 8 - Japan Part 9 - Hawaii
2:32 It is partially inspired by Fist of The North Star, but the manga also started releasing in 1987, and that was a pretty common art style back then
JJBA is a series that starts out relatively normal and simple and keeps gradually escalating how weird it is in such a way that you really do get used to it and accept it (because it's extremely entertaining to see just how weird they are going to get, and the weird moments are usually played for laughs anyway). It sounds like you tried starting at Part 5, which is quite far into the "getting weird" scale, so I can understand why you bounced off of it, but I would recommend starting it again from the beginning, just bearing in mind that it starts out quite subdued (almost formulaic), but once you get ot part 2 (episode 10) then it really comes into it's own and starts embracing it's creativity and weirdness. Also you were correct, the early designs are very much based on Fist of The North Star, as the manga for both came out in the 80's.

All you gotta know about jojo is that it is basically a story of a bloodline of the Joestars. Each main character from each part is a new character of the Joestar family.
You're right on time related stand ability, (this might be a spoiler but yeah..) Part 1 and 2 doesn't have stands, Part 3's villain have Time Stop, Part 4 have the ability to Reverse Time, Part 5 is Erasing Time, Part 6 is Time Acceleration. And the weirdness? You have to bare with it cause they're legit bunch of freaks 😭
Please. If you want more, Listen to the full versions of the openings. After I heard the 6th opening full version it felt like I have ascended over heaven. (It's only the extended version of the song not the opening.)
The nature of the show is in the title. It’s bizarre lol. You have to expect things being weird, but it makes sense once you pay attention. You picked up a lot of details in the variants, so I think you’d really like it once you get back into it. It’s also very operatic. But it’s also just the openings that are cg like that.
I would recommend starting at part 1... Arguably part 3 is where things really pick up and you can probably start at any point if you really want to, with each part being kinda its own thing, but it means more if you know the full background... Also, if you found it overwhelming before, the first two parts are maybe a bit more tame to help ease you in... Not that they aren't still pretty crazy lol. There's so much fun nonsense in those parts as well, which I think would be a shame to miss.
Jojo is considered a masterpiece, I truly recommend to you, maybe to react on the channel. The manga started in 1987, it's divided in 9 parts, it's still ongoing during these days and it's the 9th longest manga ever. It has influenced (and has influences from) any kind of pop culture, like real songs and bands, movies, fashion world, real events, ecc... Araki (the mangaka) has done many collaboration with famous brand like Gucci, Balenciaga, Vans Mercedes, other fashion brands and his works were exposed at the Louvre due to his amazing art style that is so recognizable and unique. The anime started in 2012 and ended in 2021 and for now it covers 6 of 9 parts. Basically it's the bizzarre story of the descendants of the Joestar family, which are all called with the nickname JoJo, each one the main character for each part. Every part is unique from the other but ofc they are all connected. Also the power systems and characters influenced so many other mangas and anime, like basically most of the battle shonen that uses some type of power (one piece, naruto, jjk, db, bleach, ecc). The whole jojo manga is longer than one piece and jojo part 7 is rated the second best manga of all time on my anime list. Truly recommended! If you want to react to something else before starting you can go for the jojo endings
there is a stand that stops time, one that rewinds time, one that skips time, and one that speeds time, oh and the evolved one resets any effects against it.
Omg if you pick up jojos please share your thoughts! I love seeing everyone’s perspective on this anime. Part 1 and 2 is honestly kind of prequel vibes to be, it’s mostly context for the rest of the parts in my opinion and part 3 is a dragggg. Do NOT binge part 3 it will make you hate jojos (that’s what I did at first, I had to go back and rewatch it over many weeks to actually enjoy it) because it’s very long and dragged out. I like the characters in part 3 A LOT but the storyline is one of my least favourites. For me, part 4 and 6 are the most enjoyable parts. If you were to post your reactions on here or Patreon I’d sure as hell watch with you. You give fun vibes 🫶
i might pick it up eventually! not sure on when but its definitely different from any other anime ive seen and i keep hearing its worth checking out so i might react to it eventually
dont worry, mostly only openings are cg. OP art style is not how the show looks. Also if you want to watch, you should start with season 1 of course, not 5 :D

Nice set-up and quality on audio and visual for a new channel if you’re just starting out
