    Thanks for your help.
My 400 stopped starting with the switch and only would start with a few pulls.
Got a new solenoid and still did not start.
Just about to order a new starter when I come upon your video.
Going to get a new switch first as I too have been having trouble with the high beems not being as bright as they used to be.
    Thanks
    Kevin

So we have a 1999 kodiak changed out starter silenod key switch and start button and nothing no clicks no starts acts as if no power to the key switch or the run on off start button . Could it be just a dead battery or possibly something else ? All the fuses are good cables exct checked alot of stuff so far everything checked out good so would it be just a bad battery?

Did you ever figure out what was wrong with your quad? I’m having the same problem you described.

My 95 kodiak has no dash lights at all when key is on and no click or start or crank when pushing start button. only starts with pull start.

Check the start relay up under the back plastics, it's by the rectifier. It's a small box that plugs in to the end of a wiring loom. You can reach up under there and pull that sucker right out. My 95 kodiak 400 did the same thing, and changing the box relay solved it 100%

Haha, that is why we could not get a used quad easily, you horded them all. Just kidding, l just get a running 95 Big Bear for $400 and a 2001 Polaris Sportsman 500 for $400 with a coolant leak.

I'm here now for my confession. After I let a kid start up my Kodiak for fun, it later refused to start. I checked everything - connections, switches, fuses, battery, grounds, relay, even regulator. NO LUCK. Then I sat on the quad and tried to remember what he might have done while sitting on it. Then I discovered a very small button I NEVER KNEW EXISTED under the starter switch - the engine kill switch. So after replacing the solenoid and almost submitting to a mechanic for help, I found the problem. The kid had hit that button by accident I never knew it. I told my wife I had finally found a loose plastic wire connector, so we'll leave it at that.

About 5 years ago I purchased a 1989 Honda TRX 300 4x4 for salvage parts. I was told it had no spark.
I put it in the lineup of machines for disassemble.
Got to it about a year later and found out the kill switch under the start button was in the off position. I positioned it to on and I started the machine right up
