    Wow, your solution for the Straw Hat symbol on the sail was pretty damn brilliant. I messed up the decal as well and use the sticker which looks horrible so I’ll try painting it on as well. The fact that you painted it on the sail makes it look much better and more realistic. Fantastic job!

      Thank you very much! 😁 The decal is really hard to put on because of the size, not sure how I happened to put it on my Thousand Sunny build. At the end of the day, it's a beautiful accident for me. I'm hoping you can fix yours! 🤟🏻

I’m also curious, how has your model held up so far without primer?

    • @ArtyShan
      @ArtyShan  7 месяцев назад

      Probably, I didn't mention this on the video, but I did spray over the kit with a topcoat, so it'll act as a substitute for primer 😁 The paint job is still the same up until now, there's just a few chip marks under the ship (keel) due to friction whenever I do pull out the kit from its base.
      Good luck with your first kit! Just enjoy the process.

      Hello! 😁 I used vallejo paints on this build. For the excess plastic (nubs), I just tried my best to cut it cleanly, but painting it over solves the problem for me. I'm not that good with nub removal but most of the great builders out there are using different grits to file those nubs.

    Great video. I'm just starting with model painting and I was wondering:
    How come you don't use primer before painting the kit?

    • @ArtyShan
      @ArtyShan  Год назад +1

      Thanks! 😁 Actually, I intentionally skipped priming because it'll take me a longer time before I can finish this due to the very small details of the kit. DO PRIME YOUR KIT because it'll help a lot to bond the kit and the paint itself. The paint will stick way better if priming is done correctly.

    • @ArtyShan
      @ArtyShan  Год назад

      Let's say that I did a shortcut for this one, so the paint can chip easily compared to a primed one.

    • @ArtyShan
      @ArtyShan  Год назад

      I'm not sure as well if my workaround worked? Instead of priming, I tried sanding the kit, then sprayed a matte topcoat so that it could have some texture to hold on.

    • @NikonatorX
      @NikonatorX Год назад

      @@ArtyShan Thanks, I will prime it first, then.
      If I may ask for a tip:
      I bought this same kit, and I would like to use Mr. Weathering Brown same as you did for the wood. If I where to prime the hull of the ship (probably will turn white), do you think that I could get same color as you did by just using Mr. Weathering Brown? Or should I prime, then paint it brown with acrylic, an finally use Mr. Weathering Brown?

    • @ArtyShan
