We recently returned from Tambopata Reserve in Peru - Puerto Maldonado where we spent an epic week in The Amazon Rainforest!
We stayed at the Monte Amazonico Lodge which is situated on the Tambopata River, and booked our guide through Carlos Expeditions.
We managed to do quite a few amazing Amazon Rainforest activities including Kayaking in Alligator infested waters, feeding Piranhas in Sandoval lake and Zip lining across the rainforest canopy … and of course, plenty of jungle trekking and spotting all the different animals in the Amazon rainforest.
We were lucky enough to have encounters with white caiman, black caiman, howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, tarantulas, parrots and so many more!
We also heard about an animal shelter Tambopata, called the Amazon shelter where we volunteered and spent our time feeding and learning about different species of wildlife in the Amazon rainforest that had been rescued from hunting and the illegal wildlife trade. Most of these animals are rehabilitated and released back into the wild

Since returning to the UK from Peru, we have recently taken a trip up to Scotland where we hiked and wild camped The Rob Roy Way! If you haven’t seen the videos yet.. check them out on my channel - Drunk On Wanderlust
We can’t wait to head back up and Wild camp Scotland again, we are trying to decide on our next trail up there? Maybe the Fife coastal path?
We are currently in Corfu about to hike the Corfu trail so keep tuned in each week to follow our hiking and wild camping adventures

That lodge looked amazing. Knowing my luck though, if I stayed there I'd find my room was inhabited by those bullet ants and a giant spider 🤣
😂😂🙈🙈 we did have a variety of bugs to deal with in the room, but luckily no giant spiders or bullet ants!!!
A trip to remember for sure but man 31C, anything over 22C and I am wasted. What an amazing place to visit, especially with your own personal local guide too. That sunset was unreal and well worth all the sweating, not that keen on the tarantula or tropical storm mind. A thirteen foot caiman would be a shock if you went for a dip but I would have loved to see a Jaguar but I can now see why they call it The Rain Forest! I would have loved that zipwire but real sad about the parrots, heart-breaking that some could never fly again. We have only been to Corfu once but both loved it and could not believe how green it was, the trail sounds real fun, looking forward to that, cheers Alan
Hey there Alan 😃 yes I would have loved to have seen a jaguar too! But at the same time, apparently they would only make themselves present around humans if they were starving so it was probably a good job we didn’t 😂🙈 yes we are in Corfu now and it’s so beautiful 😍 very green I was also surprised x we can see Albania so clearly from our window too as it’s only a few miles away from where we are staying … hoping to take a boat across at some point x

Now this is good advice, although we didn’t expect to get caught in the dark that day away from our guide x but I guess like the scouts … always be prepared!!!
Corfu,,,could not be further away from a right answer , I had you down for the Atlantic Way hahaha in Ireland. Great & nice to see your trip and the help you gave to the wild life , all the best. Corfu has some fun filled memories for me ,,,,of the romantic type hahah. I worked on a campsite on Mesonghi if I remember correctly it's so long ago. Oh to be in my 20's again . Ahh Derek! Now I’d still really love to go to Ireland and considering taking in a trail next year 😁 but for this year it’s Corfu x well it certainly is a romantic island so I’m not surprised!! Sounds like you have had an interesting past too lots of exciting adventures in your youth!
@@DrunkOnWanderlust Hi i have to admit my life has been a full of adventure , Unlike yourself I did not thave the benefit of Technology to be able to share. I was born in Ghana in 1959 and stayed there coming back and forward to Glasgow ,,, now that was a time. Then we spent time in Nigeria around the Biafran war . Then back to Glasgow and the boring bit school & College. I was lucky to hook up with many friends at college who I am still in touch with . This led me to backpacking around Europe France, Italy Spain & Germany. Then my best and sunniest was touring the Greek Islands Andros, Tinos Mykonos ,Lesbos and others .After a year to finish college back to Greece and the other part of Greece Corfu and back to Athens via the Corinth Canal.Staying in the Plaka area for about 150 Drachmas a night with brekkie. It was about 175 Drachmas to £ soo cheap. A stint in the Army and back to life with trips to Brecon and the Highlands and Lake District. I wish we had the tools you have now might have made for an interesting VLOG . Good luck and keep producing your stuff xx Derek

Lol Danni hated the spiders too!!! I wouldn’t have wanted one crawling on me but thought it was cool seeing them up close 😁
@@DrunkOnWanderlust I can date my fear of spiders from watching the film Arachnophobia in 1990 :) I was 10yrs old and it has effected me ever since, I can get them out of the bathroom now but holding one is out of the question. I don't blame you Danni I'd checking for tarantulas too. :)

I would of freaked when you walking through the jungle at night while it was raining and you lost your guide. Nightmarish stuff! Great vid though, looks like you had a blast.

Hey there Ash, ha ha that machete was awesome wish I could have brought it home! We were just feeding them anything we had in our bag that wouldn’t hurt them but they ate it all!
A great vid, and really well shot, I found it entertaining as well as educational to see the jungle so close. OMG that machete was almost as big as you, and you said you ate a spider eeeeeeew - thanks to you both 👌😁
Ha ha yes! I’ve eaten tarantula, scorpion, shark and lots of other weird and wonderful things lol usually for dares whilst out drinking 🙈 it’s was an epic adventure … thanks so much for watching x
Oh yes, great stuff. There's some howlers in Dorset at a park there if you miss them. I've had enough jungle for one lifetime but the wildlife is superb. PNG & Borneo are great for jungle - what's left of it. Take care ladies

@@DrunkOnWanderlust I was there many many moons ago in training ops with Aussie lot and some septics. I see what's become of that lush living forest and it makes me feel like weeping. There's a top class orphanage there for Urangs who do great things. Greed will kill our planet for no gain. But I am glad there are still good folk around. Happy trails 👣 stay safe

I prefer a machete over an axe.
So do I!! Tbh I’m not the greatest with either but a machete has a bigger surface area to cut so I tend to hit the mark slightly more! 😂😂😂🙈
