THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! This channel has helped us more than you know. My wife is having health issues, and has to have surgery. There is only one doctor in the state that she can see, but he is 4 hours from where live. We are having to book a hotel for three nights. This would normally cause a huge burden on top of everything else going on, but because of your help with miles & points we can get all three night for free! Thank you again. You have no idea how much you have helped us!
Peru is heavily commercialized by western economies, it has been made a huge food export producer, where nearly all of the profits go directly to european and american companies, using up enormous swaths of peruvian farmland in the process. Beautiful, yes ... untouched, sadly no.
Peru is a wonderful country to explore. We did Cusco to Puno on a nice bus. It had attendants! It took like forever lol, I thing around 12hrs maybe more. The bus was a nice option for us tight budget backpackers with a big suitcase, mine. We used luxury buses several times in Peru, as they are really comfortable and not a big price difference from the standard commuter buses. The only train we took there was to Aquas Calientes from Sacred Valley. it was pretty nice,.
A woman I work with is Peruvian. She is always so warm, hospitable and just a lovely person. She sometimes makes amazing Peruvian food and brings it to the office around the holidays (chicken, papas, rice). She told me if I ever travel to Peru, I'm welcome to stay in her family home. I love the people and culture of Peru, and South America in general. I loved getting to see a train ride through the cute little towns. So glad you were able to take this adventure. Thanks for taking us along for the ride! 🥰
It is always a good Saturday when Kara and Nate drop two videos, one on their main channel and one over here on the DailyDrop channel! The content is amazing and I really take notes to learn the smart ways to travel. Thank you again, Kara and Nate, for widening our travel experiences, and taking us down the less traveled roads. ❤I highly recommend the Lake Titicaca episode which is on their main channel. I haven't stopped smiling since I watched it a few minutes ago! 🥰
It makes me so happy to see you guys travel this part of the world, i'm from the Dominican Republic and i can see this is so accessible and easy for me to do and follow your steps.
Hi 👋🏻 As a train enthusiast who lives in Australia I highly reccomend you guys come back to Australia one day and ride either the ghan or the Indian pacific. The ghan is one of the most beautiful trains you can ride and sleep on as it goes right through the red centre desert of Australia! The Indian pacific is similar. Beautiful food, amenities, staff, carriages, comfort etc etc!! Please come back!
What a beautiful video! Thank you so much for showing your experience riding this train and showcasing the beauty of my country, Peru. I haven't ridden that train yet, but now I want to! 😊
Wow, you've almost reached 100k subscribers! 👏 Another great video, thank you. Pity I missed Lake Titicaca when I was in Peru years ago. A great reason to go back one day. And, to see the Nasca lines too. Thanks Kara and Nate 💜
I am truly living vicariously through you guys. Peru has never been a place I thought I would want to go but after watching your videos I can say that - if given the opportunity - I would definitely enjoy visiting. The landscaping is gorgeous and so untouched. It’s just so natural and beautiful the way God designed it. I appreciate your videos of all these lovely places. Thanks for sharing! 😊
Thanks for sharing! I was on a similar train (no where NEAR as fancy) when I traveled after hiking the Inca trail back in November and it made me reminisce on my amazing journey just a few months ago. I hope to get to go back someday, especially after the political issues have settled down further and I am so glad y'all were able to go!
I took a train in peru as well. My experience was different. It was a small train and it was so bumpy people were falling out of seats left and right. It was so fun though!!
I discovered a Peruvian band several years ago called "Flor De Loto". It was love at first listen, hard rock with peruvian influences and singing in Peruvian with South American instruments. I don't really care too much which countries or languages they sing in, If the music gets into my heart, I'll love it. Another of my favourite singers of all time is originally from East Germany but was allowed to leave to West Germany with her family. Her name is Nina Hagen and at least 75% of the people who hear her are turned off by her singing. She can sing in six different octaves from a piercing scream to a guttural growl. A person I worked with said she'd bought this album and absolutely hated it and offered it to me for free. I took it home and fell in love.
What an amazing train trip, wonderful food & very happy staff now that they are back!! Just watched new Vlog at Lake Titicaca which was fantastic spending time with a family who were very humble & gracious! 💚
Why were the lights dimming on and off in the back of the train during the daylight? And can we take a moment to appreciate how beautiful Kara looks at the 8:12 mark? The light really brings out her eyes and she's got a beautiful smile! 😁
What an incredible journey! It's amazing that you were able to experience the Peru Rail Lake Titicaca Train for free and still enjoy all the luxuries it had to offer. The landscapes were absolutely breathtaking, and it was wonderful to see how the train staff went above and beyond to make your experience memorable. Your video captured the beauty of the journey perfectly, and I felt like I was right there with you. It's experiences like this that remind us how travel can be both enriching and enjoyable. Thank you for sharing this amazing adventure with us, and I hope you continue to have many more wonderful experiences in your travels!
Nate I have a question for you--you make it very clear how to get initial points to use. Once you use those points though, you obviously have to replenish miles to use for future trips. But now you have like 10 credit cards and you can't possibly spend enough to replenish points on all of them. So what do you do?Cancel and get new accounts? concentrate on repolenishing miles one card at a time? Spreading it out among all of them?
I put the majority of my spending on 3 cards. The other cards I either keep (because the benefits out weigh the annual fee), downgrade (to a no annual fee version of the card), or my last resort is to cancel the card if it's no providing enough value. Hope that helps!
LOVE you guys! You've inspired us to look into travel cards and how we can make a little more adventure in life, easier! But, what I would LOVE to know is how you got started? It seems that to get these points perks, you have to spend money to get there. So how did you get to that point? Before your departure on the year of travel, did you spend on these travel cards to gain the points to use? Thank you for all the useful and inspiring content and bringing such positivity to the internet! Would love to see a daily drop video on how to get started with travel cards.
I really enjoyed the monkey run episodes, There are such an awesome two stories and watched 3 times nevertheless I am enjoying this new channel as well. There is a something call tuk-tuk tournament in Sri Lanka it happens every year just like monkey run but they use tuk tuks instead of tiny bikes 😅.
Hi Kara and Nate, I discovered your channel 5 years ago, and from the very first video, I watched I fell in love with your content. you have been my favourite RUclipsr ever since. I loved your " visiting 100 countries " series and I hope you continue it and visit all countries of the world. I live in Cyprus and I would love for you to visit Cyprus again and see how different is southern Cyprus from the Turkish occupied side.❤❤❤
Even if you don’t need any of that ‘stuff’ you really should buy something. That’s the way they earn their living, probably made with the alpaca that they farm. Even if you gave it away, it would be nice to buy something!
Beautiful and unusual train trip. Funny to see alpacas in fields like lots of sheep or cattle. With the wonderful service you get -- what do you do about tips or gratuities? And don't you have to spend money on your card to earn travel miles -- so there is a cost at some point? Don't quite know how it works. Loved the Lake Titicaca video.

Peru is truly one of the most beautiful places in this world and it is so untouched and underrated.
Peru is heavily commercialized by western economies, it has been made a huge food export producer, where nearly all of the profits go directly to european and american companies, using up enormous swaths of peruvian farmland in the process. Beautiful, yes ... untouched, sadly no.
Compared to other countries I would say yes untouched.
@@SurrealSaDiabel Fair point. These things happen anywhere for sure.
Definitely not underrated, it's rated #1 destination by nat geo for 2024! But Perú is definitely enchanting still
