Always just so lovely to watch these friends have a blast playing music together! And it’s extra lovely whenever we see Ren have so much fun despite everything he’s dealing with. Their energy is so contagious. Lucky people who have witnessed it live.

@@TrianglesAndCirclesI doubt they will ever get back together to the point of creating more original music, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they do the occasional show whenever they all have the time and are in the same place. Just to have some good fun as they clearly always did when together.
I've seen about 8000 live bands in my day, and the chemistry, drive and excitement of The Big Push tops all of them. I could imagine what it felt like for all the people in the Brighton streets who stumbled on this gem of a performance. Loved your reaction to it! 🤠🤘

This is super fun. I'd really encourage you to find their other version of Paint It Black, even if you watch alone and it's not reacted to! It's from that same busking session with Ren with the red suspenders from I Shot The Sheriff/Road To Zion/Hip Hop. This one is still so good, but the other is my favorite! You can't go wrong with The Big Push!

I saw many of the biggest bans in concert in the 1970s and 1980s, but I never saw anything as intimate as that performance, nor with that level of energy. The Big Push is more popular now than they ever were when they were performing. All of them are very talented and deserve to be more well know than they are. Thanks for doing this one.

I'd love to see a big gig with The Big Push, Chinchilla, Sam Tompkins, and all the folk they have collaborated with in a celebration of the Reniverse. They all do have the best energy. I love them all so much. ❤

There is a video on YT from a gig they all did together in an old church. I think the audience might not have known Chinchilla at the time as she seems to do a support slot at the start. It’s videoed by someone going, with their excitement getting ready, and filmed from up in the stalls off to one side but it captures the excitement really well.

It's worth pointing out too that at this point in Ren's life, he actually thought that he was going to die soon from his Lyme Disease. So this really meant a lot to him and that speech he gave hits hard when you know what he was going through.
Oh man... that hits even more. I thought that when this was recorded, he was already better..
@@ronireacts_to_all He was a lot better by the time he formed The Big Push. Once he was finally treated for Lyme disease, he was still very sick. In (I think) 2017 a Doctor in California saw a blog Ren posted and offered to give him a stem cell transplant. This essentially saved his life, and allowed him to return full time to making music. Even though he was a lot better, he still has autoimmunity, and other long term issues. That's why he is in Canada right now.
@@tribute1965 I was going to point out the same thing; Ren at this point was no longer bedridden and certainly no longer "deadly ill." As you said, he had already received stem cell treatment, which had markedly improved his condition, enabling him to make his living as a full-time musician, albeit still suffering the chronic effects caused by Lyme disease and years of medical malpractice. The band broke up because Ren was leaving for Canada to undergo specialized medical care and surgeries for his multiple health issues. Thank you for clarifying and providing correct information.

This was their last official busking session, but not their last performance; the band gave their last concert in September 2022 due to the fact that Ren was leaving for Canada to undergo specialized medical care and surgeries for his multiple health issues. They did record some songs yet to be released. No telling what the future holds for them, individually or as a group.

Love watching your reactions. Ren in is in Canada for pretty much all of 2023 getting intensive treatments to rebuild his immune system. Much damage was caused by having miss-diagnosed Lyme disease for close to 7 years. I really think the stars will align and we will see more of the Big Push some day. I suggest Sweet Little Lady for another Big Push Banger. It's an original, not a cover.

This is one of his performances that I know of quite well and it doesn’t matter how many times I see it I still want more! Hopefully he will be back playing live before too long, from what I’ve heard his treatment in Canada is going well so it’s fingers crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Just a thought, when you get back to a different focus there’s a band I would like to draw your attention to, they’re called The Warning, they’re 3 sisters from Monterey Mexico who are pretty amazing! They have recently finished a European tour opening for Muse (who strangely enough are their favourite band); they’ve had a great reception wherever they’ve been! To date they have 1 EP and 2 albums that were crowdfunded by their fans and one album when they signed to Lava records after a long period of negotiations concerning their ethos and unwillingness to deviate from their own perceived path.
If you’re interested in seeing them their single More is on Spotify and got over a million hits within the first month, same on RUclips over a million views in less than a month!

Where you can find the best quality recordings is on their own RUclips channel. Another longer but more interesting option is to do a triple reaction to their covers of Enter Sandman by Metallica; the first is in 2014 when they were 9, 12 and 14 followed by their track off the Blacklist album ft Alessia Cara from 2021, followed by the live performance in 2022 at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX, this option will show you how they started to what they’re like now. Another great reaction, thank you. People will tell you to do the "red suspenders Ren" version of Painted Black, but in my opinion this version is more theatrical and technical. Plus we have plenty of ancient castles and buildings.
And if you visit London,go to Borough market,the food is delicious, and there are lots of historical cobbled streets and sidewalks. Its where I was born.

Unfortunately this isn't the best version, of either song. The stand-alone version of Lonely Boy is out of this World! The stand-alone, red braces/suspenders version of Paint it Black is better too. The sound quality is MUCH better on those version and the band was REALLY into it on both too. Don't get me wrong, I still love this. It's always worth experiencing any Ren or Big Push live performance but you really should check out these other versions. You'll be blown away by both! Particularly by Lonely Boy! A song I'd never heard before but I now can't stop listening to! Well, the Big Push's version anyway. Ren's bass playing is phenomenal on the other version of Lonely Boy! The star of the show, for me. :)
