Hi Elka Speliopoulos, thank you for your informative and inspiring videos. I too have benefitted spiritually from the writings of Pope Shenouda as well as Matthew the Poor and St Jacob and St Isaac of Nineveh. I am a Greek Orthodox Christian. I notice your surname is Greek, I presume from your husband? I’m curious if you’ve benefited spiritually from any of the writings of the Greek Orthodox saints? I understand that our two Orthodox churches, though divided from 15 centuries, are very close spiritually and in hopeful dialogue at official levels. Meanwhile, i think it’s good to draw on inspiration from Gods work in both our traditions
Yes, my husband is Greek Orthodox. I worship with him at the Greek Orthodox parish locally here and then leave right after the Eucharist to drive 1:35 hrs south to Phoenix to my Syriac Orthodox parish there. I am probably more at my husband's church than my own because of its proximity. I have a Coptic Orthodox spiritual father, a monk in Germany. So yes, I am exposed to both Oriental Orthodox and Eastern Orthodox saints and their writings. 🙂 I love both traditions.
