- My first drumming hero was Gene Krupa, even before Buddy Rich. In this lesson I break down a favorite part of a Krupa solo. I've loved it since the first time I heard it many years ago. I also talk a little about the significance of the drum legend. Last video was Pilin, now Krupa, where else do you get this kind of drum diversity. I think nowhere :)

Been listening to Gene since I was a child. Gene's blues is a true classic and shows exactly why he was the master. I am 58 now and still live for Gene's playing. Stick shots rim shots with musicality.. Anybody know sing sing sing? Everybody knows sing sing sing. DO IT GENE 🥁🎶👍
I was also a Krupa fan after the Gene Krupa Story. Saw it 12 times.
Yes, I loved that movie. Gene was my 1st major influence, still love his playing all these years later.
Gracias, maestro
Saludos desde México ✌

You play very well.
Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed the lesson.
Keep up the good work - love these insights and tips. I wondered if you were aware that Peter Criss was a huge Krupa fan? His playing certainly had a distinctive swing to it. You might be intrigued by this, Peter's last live performances in NY: ruclips.net/video/W98fBYWfzsg/видео.html
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for the Peter Criss info.
