I love the playing on this one and bwv 999. I have been trying to play both of them with tabs on line and when I struggle with a section I come here and see how he plays it and it sometimes unlocks it for me.
Sometimes makes me realize that the tabs are wrong and he hits the right note and it’s a breath of fresh air.
I have been playing guitar for over 30 years and am entirely self taught, but I watch him play I finally realize the limits of my technique. I am surprisingly capable with the bad technique, but I struggle with something like this.
I’m going to use this piece to try to change my right hand technique because I recognize that I am being held back.
I always put my pinky resting on the guitar as an anchor and then I finger pick basically only with my thumb, index and middle finger. My ring finger is totally unused and a piece like this shows me how that is a problem.
The pinky anchored on the guitar takes the ring finger out of position, but losing my anchor is hard. He is just floating his hand over the strings and using the index, middle and ring fingers freely and I see how that is so much better.
I’m simply struggling to do it. lol

Compared to how easy it is on the piano, it's a real nightmare on the guitar, but you managed to do an excellent job :)
