Years ago my mom wanted to buy my disabled step dad a tablet to give him something to do. I told her to not bother with the garbage ones she was looking at and instead find an older iPad or something. What does she do? Buys the $70 no-name tablet from the drug store. Absolute garbage. My poor step dad would fiddle with that thing for a few minutes at a time trying to get some damn entertainment and it was worse than useless. No clue what happened to it. Hope it got what it deserved.
My mom got my dad with Alzheimer's a real, pretty new ipad (like second to last gen) so he could watch RUclips since he couldn't do much with his time anymore. What did he do? Two days later HE BIT THE IPAD. How do you go to a shop and ask if they repair bite damage?... And I hoped I could inherit that thing...
@@CainXVIIMy lord, I respect the jaw strength! And my condolences, my dad was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I guess I'll have to watch out for biting his iPad…
english has fallen behind. we've failed to invent a single word that means "taco bell dysentery" and not one of those german cheater words thats just 3 words without spaces like fallschirmjagergewehr.
Probably because it came out of the same sweatshop factory. Just that they didn't enable the fake RAM and fake storage crap and probably didn't load malware on it.
A little secret about tablets -- Android tables use the *exact* same hardware as phones. And I do mean _exact_ -- same chips, same specs, same capacity. I'm always surprised to see giant circuit boards in the tablet teardowns, cuz they could just put the phone board in there and be done. If Samsung put an actual S23 motherboard into a tablet, the result would be the same as their Tab S9.
The whole review farming thing is funny but I have a story. I bought veg peelers that were £8.00 ish. In the packaging there was an offer. If you post a 5* review you get a £15 amazon voucher (where I bought them from). They sent it, then a few days later, sent me another. I made £22 for writing a review 🤣
I've noticed this issue with my OLDER tablets, like the Tab S 2 and Tab S1 (which still make amazing book readers since they have an OLED panel and are quick enough for most PDF files and are super light as well) that the issue with your tablet was due to the fact that you were probably sending a PD or QC charge over that USB cable and the tablet doesn't know what those are since there's actual data being transferred over the charger to identify charging levels. SO you really do need a crappy no-frills no QC or PD rated charger with these. If you used the charger in the box it would have worked, more than likely.
I might be wrong but iirc PD chargers send the minimum wattage if there's no handshake with the device, so technically speaking there shouldn't be any problems. But hey, this is the real world and these things do get finnicky sometimes.
@@MansBestFriend_ sometimes the no handshake wattage is too little and you need an old 2.4A dumb charger some older devices need an older form of signaling(specific resistor shorting the data pins to indicate the charger's current capacity) before they start charging at all some late 2000s-early 2010s apple devices require a different specific voltage to each data pin before they start charging
Still see it all the time anyway. It's fun to report them to hell and back and leave the most scathing review imaginable when I find it though. With Amazon if you get a certified Piece of Garbage you can get your money back and not bother returning the thing, so it makes for a fun nugget dissection like this video
The reason why it might not be charging is because the cable used is Type-C to Type-C? I've experienced bad products before that have Type-C ports but doesn't support usb-c to c cable charging due to their poor implementation of the USB-C standard. They only charge via 5V USB A to Type C charging cables because they are unable to negotiate the correct voltage for C to C charging. Great video btw ❤
That still reminds me of that one Q88-style tablet that I used to have back in 2014. It only lasted for 1 WHOLE WEEK. Yeah, 1 week, while I was playing Angry Birds I suddenly dropped it and the LCD broke

I bet this tablet can ONLY be charged from a low wattage, non quick-charging USB-A port. I wonder if he was using a quick charge 100W USB-C charger that was incompatible with this tablet.
