As has been said; people don't own cats. Cats own people. And the fact they felt comfortable walking into your house, or cuddling up to you, or just plain not avoiding you, is a testament to your character as a human. Cats know a good home, and when they pick you, they're rarely mistaken.
Y’all know those are legal with the right licenses, in other states, right-? Florida is also NOT HOME TO CAMINE. That’s not an alligator. 👀 It’s very clearly and obviously not an alligator. I’m guessing no one in this section right here has ever seen a picture of an alligator or a baby alligator before? 👍🏻 Good job. 🤣👏🏻
When I was about 5, which was 60 years ago, a cat got himself stuck underneath my brother’s VW. They heard it crying when they were driving, and pulled into a service station so they could put the car on a lift and retrieve it. That cat was my best friend for the next 18 years!!! #BESTCATEVER!!!!!☺️🙏❤️
This is how I got my first cat! We just moved to a new house, I was 5. Neighbor had a cat. I never seen our touched a cat before and hated it, but it loved me. For 5 months I threw stuff at it, squirted it with water, screamed at it. It always kept coming in the house looking for me or running towards me when I was outside. Finally one fall day I was outside playing, sitting on the front porch and it came to me again. Don't know what changed in me to allow it to sit in my lap, but I never saw anything in my life so happy just to be able to sit with me. 1 hour later we were best friends. Fast forward 3 years and my neighbors moved. The cat was pretty much living half with us and half with them at this point. They told me the cat would be heartbroken if it were to leave, so please adopt her. Shadow lived 17 years as my shadow, and is the reason I adore cats and everything they do!
My dad was sort of like that. He’d claim he didn’t like cats, but never did anything to hurt them. Then one day, when I was about 26, a cat wandered in, and made him new home our covered porch. It was a large porch. And over three years we tried to get him to come inside, as the door was glass, and he’d sit at the door looking in, with just his little orange head showing. Every time I tried to allow him in, he wouldn’t come. Then one day he began, and slowly got accustomed to an indoor life. And once that happened, guess who his favorite person was? My dad. Samson(the cat) would lay his head on my father’s foot. And sleep there every night. And dad wouldn’t get up so not to upset him. So for a man who dislikes cats, they’ll win you over in time.
No HUMAN ever owned a feline, sorry. We complacently hand over the pink slip to our immortal soul when confronted by a cat purring on their chest in the dark. Humans are sluttty that way.
Exactly right. We are our cat's property. They own us completely and entertain us with their crazy antics. My husband, the cat hater is responsible for our last three cat adoptions. But he hates cats. Or at least he did 41 years ago when we first got married. I've helped our cats corrupt him completely. 😂😂
I had been feeding a stray cat on my deck for a year. Even in below zero weather he would not come in. Finally one night he stepped through the deck door. He ran around the dining room and ran back outside. The next 4 nights he ran in and ran around a different part of the house, checking for danger before running outside again. On the sixth night he sauntered and stretched out on the floor. Kittyboy has been with me for 3 years now and doesn't even try to go outside! He is a total lovebug and lap cat.
But, they can also be little devils. Example: One time I was watching TV, minding my own business, when my cat Sassy divebombs me from across the table for no apparent reason!
Couldn't agree more. When my mom passed away, all my siblings and our spouses rally together to care for her. Since she lived a couple of states away and had no idea how long we'd be gone, we brought our cat. That cat would not leave my mom's side. If he wasn't on the bed with her, he was under the bed. My mom expressed how much she was comforted by his presence. He never invaded her space, nor did he ever lay on her. He just quietly and gently stayed at a respectful distance, but close enough to provide her comfort. I'd never seen anything like it before. A couple of years later my husband because critically ill. He ended up having two liver transplants in one year. I credit that very same cat as being the constant source of comfort for me that help me get through it. So yes, cats are very intuitive. I can't ever imagine being without one. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

We were at an animal shelter looking at the cats when a little black paw reaches out of a cage and grabs my moms coat. Black cat with"last chance" on her cage. We were told she was unsocial and ripped up cardboard. Shadow was the friendliest cat we ever had, would groom our 100 pound German Shepherd and cuddle in bed with us. She knew, I'm sure of it.
Baught a new house and we have found the neighbour's cat in similar scenarios in our home. We believe his owners live a block away and his girlfriend lives next door, so sometimes we find both of them by us. We don't own any cats.
I got new neighbors. We shared a porch on day I had my door open and their cat wanted in. I did not know I had new neighbors. That cat did not want to leave my house. Keep him until he died. Was an awesome cat
That's how I got my first black and white firball years ago. She just showed up and absolutely refused to leave so I got her spayed and flea treatment, kept her for years.
When a beautiful cat came to our home three years ago and claimed us, i have to say we felt honoured and still do. Her owner gave in and let her claim us as she wouldnt leave and return back to were she used to live 🙌😊 shes still with my daughter, highly loved, blessed and wonderful
Has a cat like that. He kept coming to play w my nephew while we were watching him. This was every day for about two weeks. We would drop him off at his home every night when we took the kid home, and he would show up the next day & wait for my nephew to show up. Then he started beating us back to our place after we took him home. Eventually the owner just gave him to us. He was an awesome cat. Black & white with a big white smile in his facial fur. It was the most appropriate coloring I've ever seen on a cat...
I'd say it more of a symbiotic relationship. Around 10000 years ago cats decided to stick around humans, because we are messy beasts whose trash attract a buffet of rats and mice. It was only about 6000 years ago some brave soul decided to bring one of the fuzzy razor-blades inside, and the rest is history. Now, excuse me, I have to go feed my fuzzy overlords some tuna...
One day an orange tabby showed up on my property , following me and my dog ( on a leash) around . He would get on my lap when I sat outside on the front steps . I live in a rural area and knew he didn't come from anywhere around me so figured he was A drop off . A week or so passed and he showed up injured so I took him to the vet , got him neutered and he officially became mine . That's the way cats are . They usually choose you .
Aw I'm glad you took him in and I live in rural area myself and ppl are just stupid they drop off their cats or dogs on the side of the road and those poor babies expect the owners to come back to get them those poor things don't understand why they're getting dumped off just for either no longer cute because they outgrew the cute stage into a trouble stage and some poor animals come from abusive homes and me I'm hoping every state will make abusive pet owners be forced to be registered for abusing animals like they do for sex offenders cause animals don't have no say on their owners actions against them..
Driving home- 3 am- see eyes on a rural road. Stop on a whim, cat jumps into vehicle, and wraps around my neck. Tried to leave her, figuring she had a home. Came back twice, cat was still in the spot I left her. Second time she was being attacked by another cat so I jumped in. So, she owns me now. Named her Serendipity, "the word stupid people use for coincidence". Lol
Wonderful. Such an honour bestowed upon a humble human. A little lady adopted me some years ago and I was very proud to be her servant. (Cat owners will understand that last comment.) Never did find out where she came from, but lighted up my life no end. Rest in peace, my little angel.
nala simba The best time in my life was spent cozying up to a little lady whose pregnant mom wandered up and sat down on my patio. After she had the kittens, she wandered off again. I decided to adopt one of the babies she left behind. Awesome little female kitty - we spent twenty years together and I loved every minute of it!
Fun fact: cats can actually slide under incredibly small gaps such as a slightly opened garage door. If the head can slide, so can the body in most cases. I’m willing to bet that a lot of those cats got in through open windows, doors, and slight gaps such as garages. Am also noticing that a good portion of the cats in the video had collars. While some people commented acknowledging that the cat belonged to someone else, others didn’t and I believe that that’s problematic to say the least. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk
Agreed. Those pictures are always cute, but *please* at least take the cat to a vet to see if it's chipped and has a family to go back to. Or check the collars for info.
To the people who said “I don’t own a cat” a very true saying is “cats don’t have owners, they have staff”, a fact that people who thought they “owned” cats learn pretty quickly. I wish I could be a cat servant, but I’m not allowed to keep animals in my flat 😩
You don't "get" a cat. The cat decides to bless you as it's human and chooses you to take care of it for the rest of it's life. You should be honored to be blessed by these beautiful furry beasts.
If you don't treat your cat the way they think they ought to be treated, they find a new home. Its why certain people lose their cats and others find one. I had an aunt who used to feed her cats fresh shrimp every morning. She always had new cats adopting her.
I once loaned my kitty to a woman who lived a few blocks away so she could have kittens. He kept leaving me to go back to her house. He wasn't after the female kitty - she feeds them real fish everyday. Yeah, I lost the cat. Who am I to stand in the way of him having fresh fish daily? By the way, his name was Road Kill because he loved laying in the middle of the road on his back, looking like road kill. Thankfully we lived in a very very small town with very little traffic on our road.
Loved this so much! Cat's definitely pick their owners. We didn't have a cat either until last year a little Tuxedo kitten showed up out of nowhere and started visiting my husband and I. My husband said,' we're NOT feeding it'...she said we'll see about that...one day after her working on him for sometime I come out to the garage and husband is feeding her. That same week another larger cat went after her and while husband was working in garage Miss Kitty ran to my husband and hid behind him for safety. Next thing I know, that night at 8pm mind you, husband is on his way to pick up online order he placed purchasing cat litter, the fanciest litter box, wet/ dry food and....toy's 🤦♀️🤣🤗 We were dog lover's but now we're blessed to have been claimed by a lil fur ball who literally runs this house now. The husband who refused to feed the cat that same week bought a cat condo, spent several hours researching online about cats, their health, foods etc🤣🤣
When I was an OTR driver I picked up an empty trailer at my home town drop yard. I hooked and booked. I was about half a state away before stopping to fuel up and hit the shipper. I stopped at the fuel island and when I got out I could hear howling and scratching coming from inside the trailer. I opened it up and a cat come lunging at me. Jumps on my shoulder and starts rubbing my face. I knew exactly who’s cat it was. He belonged to an elderly lady and unfortunately I couldn’t make the 180 and bring him back. So I put him up in the cab and we both went on a 2 month long haul. I stopped when I could and boxed him up with a carrier built for a large dog so I could stick him in there with a litter box and still have room to move around while I drove. When I took my regulated breaks I’d open up the cage and let him sleep on me. He got used to the truck and the noise so I’d let him out while driving and he’d sun himself on the dash. When my trips were done and I headed home, just before getting to the drop yard to park my truck I stopped and got him a bath at a pet groomer and drove him home to the old lady. Even after that I’d still see him at the drop yard chasing mice. I nicknamed him trouble after that. And yes I do own a cat, just not that one. Ever since I checked the empties up and down. I even told the yard super to warn drivers to look for cats in their trailers. That could’ve turned out bad for the little guy. I was going through north Nevada on my way to salt lake during a very hot summer.
My neighbor’s cat used to leave me pieces of birds and mice on my doorstep. We got married four months later. I married the neighbor, not the cat. Well, maybe I married them both. Lol.
When the stray domestic cats start to dominating human world... Me : Umm...Hello Mr. Cat...If I recall my memories, I didn't have any intention for adopting you, sir...🤔? Cat : No, but I DO have intention to OWN YOU, human...(Fufufu...stupid human)😼
There have been cats living in my neighborhood since I moved in. Now, a lady (she moved in after us) is feeding the cats..Our fear is that a cat will get into the house and scratch up something. And no, we would not keep it if it did come in.
It's funny, actually. You might just open a door to let out your own or be bringing in packages and they'll discretely pop through the opening and miss your notice. Bingo, you've been chosen.
This is how I got my great cat, Rex (RIP). He just came in off the street, systematically inspected all the rooms and announced, "This will do." There is a special bond when a cat chooses you.
And dont forget all the big cats like panthers or Bob cats but alot of house cats so if you live in Florida you might find a cat somewhere at least once

Unique way I got a cat: I was taking an off ramp from I-5 in Ferndale, WA. A young Maine Coon mix dashed in front of me, and I slammed on the brakes, but hit her. I stopped to see if she was alive. She was out cold, with a scraped chin and bloody mouth, but otherwise intact. I got her to a vet 2 minutes before they closed. They kept her overnight. The next day, I took her home and named her Lucky. She lived another 18 years 🙂🐱.
A neighbor girl brought me a friend. I couldn’t imagine at that time, how great that was. My cat Bob, is the joy of my life. Somebody , that simply likes to share their life with me. Never did I think, and now I know, cats are great for people.
Aww, that was so cute! A friend of mine showed me this video because she knew I had a "Don't Own a Cat" encounter not long ago! I heard meowing in the morning, but thought nothing of it at first since I was still sleepy. So I go down and get breakfast. And as I eat I hear the meowing again. I turn around and see this adorable gray and white kitten! Having no idea how he got in there, I got up and approached him, but I think he was scared as he went to the fireplace to hide! I try to coax him out, even saying that it was okay. Then I hear a voice on the other side of the wall asking "Where did you go?" I asked if she was looking for a little kitten, she said 'yeah' and she came and picked him up! What we found out was that our fireplaces were connected, as the cat went through the neighbor's fireplace and then came out of mine!
My cat Mittens passed away 2 years ago in December. Not even a month later a Lilac Lyxn Point Siamese followed me home when I was walking after I asked where her home was. She'd been abused and abandoned. I got adopted that night by the most protective cat ever. She'll guard me when walking the dog and from threats like snakes or the neighbor's dog.
Hey folks be aware: NOBODY owns a cat, they tend to pick their human(s) and then they OWN you. We went to a local SPCA to get a new cat and let my young son pick out a new cat - wrong. An all white cat picked me, so we named her Snowball and now she's been our PetKid for 9+ years!
Tim Watson that happened to my mom. She went to the store to look at hamsters and this beautiful doll faced Himalayan did some sort of kitty hypnosis basically saying ‘This(the hamster) is not the pet you want...... come take me home.’
I lucked out with my cat, boss has barn cats, a Tom came in and impregnated a couple. I took a cat home. Just left the garage open, had some food outside for her. Eventually, three months in she decided to come visit me while I vape out in the garage, sitting on my lap when I put the vape away to watch youtube. Few months later and she is an indoor outdoor cat. Love that cat, also lucky she doesn't antagonize my dog, she even chills in the backyard while the dog is out there.
For the one that the cat pooped on the pillow. It had nothing to do with revenge!! You don’t have a cat so that means you also don’t have a litter box!!! Poor cat was doing what cats do! Also if a cat claims you then you are a blessed person!! Show the cat a lot of love! Cats are amazing!!
When I was 9 years old my family had six cats. One morning I opened the door calling back to my parents, "I'm going to school!" I looked down and in walked this large black and white cat. I called back, "We got a new cat!" And I left.
I have had cats all my life but never gone and got one, they just appear like magic. One was eating the bird suet and became a pet. 3 showed up in the yard, One showed up with 5 kittens. I now have 2 cats I never ever sought but we have them now. I also got Raccoons and Opossums via the cat food . And I get gifts on my side walk like bunny heads and chewed up chipmunks. It's never a dull day here. We had a flat squirrel apparently we had driven over and we threw it way out in the back in the woods, it kept appearing. We would toss it back it came back every day. Those cats were proud of that flat squirrel for some reason.
2:50 this isn't even a regular cat. It's a baby lynx. They have incredibly big paws. I found one once on the middle of a road and brought it to a shelter the next morning. Such a sweet little guy, he's back in wilderness now. Hopefully he's fine. I named him Kenai.
Once i was bringing back my clean laundry, several trips up the stairs, set a bag down in my livingroom,in the middle of the room was an orange cat,not mine sitting chest out,it refused to leave,i had to gently pick her up like a baby and take her home to my neibor acoss the way.was cute and funny.

What a Beautiful ❤️ Story! I'm so happy for you! 🐈

@@goodluck6948 I was 5 dipshit. Read the whole post.
You're all getting it the wrong way around, these cats have decided to own YOU.
Exactly!!

This is legit how cats became domesticated in the first place
A cat: I'm staying here for the night.
A human: you literally can n e v e r leave
Or is it how cats domesticated humans ⁉️
Aw I'm glad you took him in and I live in rural area myself and ppl are just stupid they drop off their cats or dogs on the side of the road and those poor babies expect the owners to come back to get them those poor things don't understand why they're getting dumped off just for either no longer cute because they outgrew the cute stage into a trouble stage and some poor animals come from abusive homes and me I'm hoping every state will make abusive pet owners be forced to be registered for abusing animals like they do for sex offenders cause animals don't have no say on their owners actions against them..
yes I live in Ohio in a very rural part and my mom complains about people dropping their cats off buy most time the Amish take the cats.
I love the people asking "is this how I get a cat?" Because quite often, if its owners are nowhere to be found, yes, it is how you get a cat! Lol
Driving home- 3 am- see eyes on a rural road. Stop on a whim, cat jumps into vehicle, and wraps around my neck. Tried to leave her, figuring she had a home.

I love how animals can actually pick their owners.

She'll guard me when walking the dog and from threats like snakes or the neighbor's dog.
beautifull story !!!
@@briesullivan883 they say one way cats, in general is their adaptability. And from an old joke; dogs have owners, cats have staff.
"What do I do now?" Easy - buy a litterbox!
... or enjoy a revenge shit on your pillow :)
Or if you're heartless like me kick it out...orr gain its trust and then drive to a fire station kick them out and put em alone at a fire station :)
When I was 9 years old my family had six cats. One morning I opened the door calling back to my parents, "I'm going to school!" I looked down and in walked this large black and white cat. I called back, "We got a new cat!" And I left.
I always say :
U dont have to find "your" cat , they find u !
Love them
You are the chosen one.
Bless u
Quick advise. Get a litter box ASAP
Ofcourse you dont own a cat, its common knowledge that a cat owns you. 😆
Awra Kamilia exactly!
All of these furballs are just blessings in disguise. My first cat was like these guys. I miss you, Princess.
