Nah, I was thinking the vocals were a direct rip off of black keys/jack white and the instrumental was like a jack white/black keys/royal blood lovechild
Hanni El Khatib's 2013 album Head In The Dirt was produced by the Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach. What a great influence there. You would be hard-pressed not to hear a Jack White style on the guitar. Came here to investigate the artist's involved when I heard You Rascal You at the end of HBO's Hung S2E6. I must have missed it on Escape at Dannemora otherwise I would have been here much sooner.
Wow, where have I been?! Why have I never heard of this singer b4? So far I've absolutely loved every song of his I've listened to. I need to find out when or if he's touring & go see him immediately!
love it!! old enough to be his granny! way too young for the original- but loved ols Satchmo doing it an age back - only now seen the original Betty Boop 1932 cartoon on You tube - to which it was sung. El Khatib - funky-outstanding arrangement - my god son will LOOOVE the close-ups of the guitar work. Love the no crap precussion - very spunky number! Thanks!! :)
when i heard this in the levi's commercial i thought... the hell is this glorious sound? black stripes? white keys? this is a perfect mix between both. seriously.
Love that mid-60's AMC Rambler in the video! I'll admit, yes, I heard it in the levi's ad, and yes, I thought it was the Keys, but it's a pretty good song, hafta admit. And anybody that uses a fine American Motors product in their video gets a thumbs up from me.
Here it is!!!! I went crazy finding this bc I HAD TO HAVE it!!! Wish it had a longer guitar solo!!! Joe Bonamassa should cover this thing! It's an old Louis Armstrong song! Just a killer re-do!
Wait for it......wait for it.. 1:05 HELL YA!!! That's my shit. Raising my glass full of Captain Morgan"s Spiced Rum. Don't Drink and Drive. Captain Morgan’s orders.
That cat has some serious guitar skills. And it's pretty cool he's driving an old Nash with the three-on-the-tree shift. Most younger people have never seen a set-up like that let alone drove a car with one. Yeah I'm old as dirt.
As good as this band is, it's not a good thing when everyone says you sound like someone else. Much better to have your own identity in music, than to be constantly confused/compared with other bands.
At first I thought it was the black keys who sang this song when I heard it on the eastbound & down season 3 trailer, but either way... I love this song!
@briancamarco I'm pretty sure thats standard. do you have an archtop guitar? i'm pretty sure he's playing with flatwound strings thats what gives it different sound then you're used to. he also has a pretty nice distortion going on but nothing you can't get out of a boss or mxr classic overdrive
his singing voice reminds me of the black keys but his guitar playing is straight up Jack White style. I love it, its like a combo of both
Les Claypool..black keys, and cage the elephant all in one
Nah, I was thinking the vocals were a direct rip off of black keys/jack white and the instrumental was like a jack white/black keys/royal blood lovechild
I heard in tv series californication. And then quickly search and i loved it so much.
I did the same thing haha
çağtay özdemir that's exactly what i did just now
same
just this moment
Same rn!
HBO's Sr. Avila🙌🏻
Wow, who would have thought that this song is 82 years old! It's a good modern treatment of this song; love it!!
This song is good therapy it gives me comfort dealing with my shitty father 🙄🤨
When I first heard this, I thought it was The Black Keys. Still a great song.
when I heard this at first I thought they were the Black Keys haha still badass song
I thought the same thing
Me too
Me too
F o x t a y a m e same from the Levis advert
F o x
This lowkey might be the best song ever.
Absolutely *LOVE* this song !!!!
JAKE YOU HIT THE MARK ON THIS ONE , very dark yet it provokes you to think about life and not giving up
god this song is still as good as it was the first day i heard it

I heard it on a jeep commercial
Wow, where have I been?! Why have I never heard of this singer b4? So far I've absolutely loved every song of his I've listened to. I need to find out when or if he's touring & go see him immediately!
Sr. Ávila me trajo aquí, genial inicio de temporada!
La mejor serie!
A mi también me trajo el Sr. De Señores que tal serie se mandó Tony Dalton mis respetos
This khatib is a genius. He is wired slight different from any other performing musical artists, at least for me
Crap..i miss more this kind of music today ...hear them in Californication and have luck to find them this fast ...
Love from Serbia
Funky funked up, uptight & outta sight to bring the good stuff back from the dead with groove on....diggin it.
This song is on so many different TV shows, finally I've found the correct version.
Teen Wolf 🐺 Included 🎸
Love the original Sam Theard and Louis Armstrong version but love this version too!!💕💕💕💕
I just heard this on Life & Beth on Hulu. It's pretty dang good
Oh god, this guy needs to come out with an album ASAP!
love it!! old enough to be his granny! way too young for the original- but loved ols Satchmo doing it an age back - only now seen the original Betty Boop 1932 cartoon on You tube - to which it was sung. Heard this song on Californication and thought it was the Black Keys, now I'm very curious
knetterwauz010 Dan from the Black Keys actually helped produced Hanni's latest album! Very similar sound
I also thought it was the black keys ! Love it
I've just heard it.on a advert and thought the same
bad ass lyrics with that blues beat.
when i heard this in the levi's commercial i thought... the hell is this glorious sound? black stripes? white keys? this is a perfect mix between both. seriously.
🤣🤣 . Nice … Nice
Heard this on Hung last night and could NOT get it out of my head. What a great cover.
Love that mid-60's AMC Rambler in the video! I'll admit, yes, I heard it in the levi's ad, and yes, I thought it was the Keys, but it's a pretty good song, hafta admit. And anybody that uses a fine American Motors product in their video gets a thumbs up from me.
Merci la pub Levis!
Great Cover of an old classic!!!!
i was at the glasshouse too they rocked it, i like how he remade this song man knows his history!
Captain Morgan salutes you Hanni! Awesome song!
Masterpiece!!!!!
You could literally take that solo and put it in a White Stripes song. It's very much Jack's style.
It’s the octaved up fuzz effect that makes it
I frickin KNOW...right..had to Google it all the while thinking with that crunchy guitar riff it's gotta be Jack 🤍 White.
It's more like Dan Auerbach style, that is similar to Jack as well
@@skiro5823 I agree, it also reminds me of Fat Possum era Black Keys, namely 2003's Thickfreakness (the album with "Hard Row")
Reminds me of Louis Armstrong
Saw Hanni open for Florence and the Machine in St. Louis last year. Just him and a bullet mic and it was kick-assss
never heard of hanni but like it ...thank levis
its the beginning of a new genre, Jack White, Black Keys and now Hanni El Khatib
Which is not surprising considering he's released on Auerbach's record label. Seriously good stuff!
Good song!!!!
Here it is!!!! I went crazy finding this bc I HAD TO HAVE it!!! Wish it had a longer guitar solo!!! Joe Bonamassa should cover this thing! It's an old Louis Armstrong song! Just a killer re-do!
Hell yeah, totally agree...and by no surprise, Dan Auerbach is producing Hanni's next album.
this was a great song to come across. thanks levi commercial.
The song needs to be longer!!!
Has a Black Keys vibe (Mentioned before) but I smell talent here. I love it.
الحمد لله على السمع والأبصار والأفئده
Alhamdulillah for sight, hearing and heart.
heard this on ablee layer's video. albee always picks the best music.
I came here via Good Taste. I just love his work. He makes me love modern music
in love already! 😍😍😍😍
Top drawer song. Good to see some raw and filthy sounds for a change rather than crisp clean cut music. I think I'll be heading to iTunes shortly!
First written in 1929 and recorded by Louis Armstrong in 1932 :)
the soundtrack our lives... rock n roll yeah
BLUES ROCK AWESOME
not miss IT but miss YOU, very important detail :) the love between those two is beautiful
Heard a rendition from a VERY different source. but i recognize this version. Louis Armstrong apparent original. Adios Muchachos!

Don't Drink and Drive.
Captain Morgan’s orders.
I love this dang song!!
Sounds like The Black Keys
+Adam Mf Dan Auerbach produced with Hanni on his earlier stuff
yeeep ...
+Adam Mf Except you add talent and minus Hipster/Yuccie bullshit. So besides that yeah it "sounds like the black keys". HA!
Yeah them plus Jack white guitar solos
I was about to say that lol
Come on, it's HANNI EL KHATIB!!!
Wow trop bon 🎸🎶🎧 ça c'est du bon son 😉😊😉
Heard on Californication. Great song.
Whoa whoa this is a very very old blues tune folks. So nobody gets a notch in their belt yet
Glad I found this!
That cat has some serious guitar skills. And it's pretty cool he's driving an old Nash with the three-on-the-tree shift. Most younger people have never seen a set-up like that let alone drove a car with one. Yeah I'm old as dirt.
You don't happen to know exactly what car he's driving do you? It looks so sick.
A mid-60's Rambler I believe. They're not as common as they used to be and that one looks well cared for.
+D Tittle1964 thank you very much sir.
No problem.
Посмотрел сериал "Жеребец" (Hunq) и во втором сезоне звучит вот эта замечательная композиция. Плюсую. (ул)
It's been 6 years of levi's commercial..
And finally I found out this masterpiece today🤩🤩🤩
this should be our national anthem
I heard it on the ending of Hung as well, really caught me by surprise

I also heard it on the ending credits for Hung. It is a great freaking song and it makes me want to get crazy ;D Great remake of the original song.
Thank fckn goodness , no ads
Sr. Ávila
As good as this band is, it's not a good thing when everyone says you sound like someone else. Much better to have your own identity in music, than to be constantly confused/compared with other bands.
I'm pretty sure sounding good, sounding the way you wanna sound, is all you gotta do. And here we have success
It doesn’t sound LIKE , anything , it has the Influence Of The Black Keys . Auerbach Is On This Song With The Guitar 🎸 And its Brilliant 🐺
he recorded an album with dan from black keys. i found that in an interview with dan. goodled it and now i am here. good stuff
Heard this song via the movie "Wolves". Awesome track!
Heard it in the trailer for the upcoming film The Imposter....INSTANT FAN!
this sound so vintage, wow
Heard this in the movie Wolves, loved it and searched the lyrics
Try The Series “Teen Wolf” 🐺
And Thank Me Later…
@@wendzeg I have watched it many many times and love it. Both the older movie and the series😁
At first I thought it was the black keys who sang this song when I heard it on the eastbound & down season 3 trailer, but either way... I love this song!
i'm instantly in head over heals with this song.
feels like in a starting scene of a badass supreme unbeaten heroic movie
@briancamarco I'm pretty sure thats standard. do you have an archtop guitar? i'm pretty sure he's playing with flatwound strings thats what gives it different sound then you're used to. he also has a pretty nice distortion going on but nothing you can't get out of a boss or mxr classic overdrive
been checkin black keys albums n bsides all day after hearin this last night lol
Damn this song is old as hell...maybe a 100 years by now. But it still sounds so good no matter who sings it.
Hung has awesome songs at the credits
he's actually collaborating with Dan Auerbach for his new album...not sure if its out or not, but that was back in April
Great... Love it... it,s dirty
Dan Auerbach's voice and Jack Whites solo. I love it. Viva la flemme a blanca
Dan helped produce it
Check out Louis Prima ! Oldie but a real kick ass goodie
this song makes me so upset because i wish it was 15 minutes long. i need more.
