It's taken me many a years to warm up to this game, Darius Force I've long liked. This was a pretty early release, and a commendable effort by Taito to bring the Darius saga to the SNES.
Same loved the soundtrack! Most underrated vintage game soundtrack! Kicked ass for its time very complex..not to mention the game itself brought a fresh appeal to a already well developed style of game play at its time. Loved this game.
I know its an old video but just to say thanks for providing me with such fond memories. I bought a Super famicom and a good few of the shooters for it, this included. You took me way back to the 90's with a enjoyable and emotional tear in my eye's. Thank you.
wow I didn't know you can just stay in the top right corner for most of the final stage. I was having a lot of trouble with that. Also that last enemy you kill before the boss that sprays the white rings is unpredictable to me, usually messes me up.
Great run through. I can tell you are experienced player because of the smart decision to skip the weapon change at 19:00. That’s a vet move. You just have to improve on your early boss & mini boss tactics while still getting a great score. You could’ve beat them much faster/more efficiently. Nevertheless, excellent run!
I've always been able to do the first 6 zones untouched but man Darius still destroys me, if I manage to beat that level it's all up to chance! The turtles always get me lol... Also yeah besides Hyper Greatthing all the previous bosses are ridiculously easy once you know the trick
Awesome run, I didn't know you could milk the turtles that much! Theoretically, would it be better to try to kill all the enemies in the last zone instead of using the upper right safe spot for maximum score?
Yes, and you will want to skip it (assuming you got the first red powerup back at 7:35) because it will revert your weapon back to the original one, which is weaker and does not have a piercing shot.
@@PEG You know I think it might be based on where your ship is on the screen, I notice you used the top right corner a lot more than any other player on youtube
One good question why is it the game designers didn't put in SpongeBob SquarePants because he is the most evil of them all I'm surprised you didn't fight SpongeBob
@Chris Ledet, first of all, SpongeBob SquarePants is not evil, second, the game came out in 1991, which is a full seven years before the pilot episode of SpongeBob SquarePants first aired on Nickelodeon, third, ironically enough, despite there literally now being a species of sponge that is literally named after that particular character, specifically, Spongiforma squarepantsii, which can be found on this link ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spongiforma_squarepantsii ), the truth is that having a sponge for a boss in a Darius game honestly is kind of a problem, as, well, the term "bullet sponge" is made in shooter games for a reason, so, despite its cute attempt at a play on such a boss concept, sponges, well, they do not move much, nor do they have any sort of real attacks in real life, and fourth, there are literally tons of better bosses for a Darius game that have yet to be made, such as, say a boss that is patterned after a killer whale/orca, a boss that is patterned after a dolphin, a boss that is patterned after a clown fish, a boss that is patterned after a deep-sea angler, and those are but a few of the bosses that, in all honesty, would be infinitely better than having a sponge for a boss in the game. Also, anyone that is a true SpongeBob SquarePants and Darius fan knows that Plankton would make for a much better evil boss for a Darius game anyway...oh, and by the way, no, there have not been any bosses that have been based upon plankton in a Darius game as well.
Very good gameplay. This game sure brings back memories when i used to have an SNES.
That boss music tho..
Amazing run! You're a true master of this game, it's one of my SNES favourites and I always figured I was decent but this is next level!

Great run! This was a childhood fav of mine.

The soundfont for this game's ost sounds a lot like mmx
this soundtrack isn’t talked about enough. it’s one of the best on snes.
The music in this game is kickass
I never was able to get passed the turtle. I haven’t played this game in years.

Darius Twin is also on Darius Cozmic Collection as well if you have an Eighth Generation video game console.
came here for the music stayed for the gameplay
Funny that one of the bosses is called “Demon Sword” when Taito released a platformer baring that name in 1988.
To this day, I can't figure out how to make 2 red items appear on zone c. Maybe it is just random.
21:05 Full Metal Shell
28:06 Ending
This game was wicked
Exactly. And that is why we must destroy it.

He went untouched...

+Pete Hahn yes, i played it safe because i was trying for no deaths but you could earn a lot of points on the last level killing the minibosses
Cool, thanks for the info!
Hmm...What's that Red power up icon at 19:00? Doesn't that change your main weapon?
Yes, and you will want to skip it (assuming you got the first red powerup back at 7:35) because it will revert your weapon back to the original one, which is weaker and does not have a piercing shot.
How did you do it to only gith 1 snail/turtle in the end? I usually end up fighting three (and dying to the last one)
I believe it is random, if there is a way to control it, I'm not aware of it.
how come on the last level you only had to face one of those crab things every time i get there i have to go through 3 ?
+Cody Williams I think the enemies are random on the last stage, or perhaps based on some other factors I'm not aware of.

I don’t know whether to laugh at the joke or commend your intelligence.

Why sea creatures?
Because it's easier than design something from ground up.
Because it’s Darius
