Corrections: The ROM switcher on this video was from Boobip ;) I will add the links later! The RTC on these memory expansions will work as low as 1v! Hence how a 3v CR2032 can power them!
A week-end is not a good one without a GadgetUK video! :-) Thank you so much for your time making these videos, they are very entertaining and full of knowledge, you know your stuffs!! ;-) Thanks again for sharing your thoughts with us!! :-]
They are decoupling capacitors, they connect between the 5v rail and ground on each IC. Each one is as near to the IC power connections as possible. This helps with current dips and filters high frequeny noise out. Without them, it would likely work just the same, but over a very long period of testing you may find a crash at some point. It's always good practise to fit them. In a system with so much decoupling, you would likely never experience a problem without those 4...
8375 was the highest revision Agnus before they started making AGA Alice. It is found ONLY on the A500+ and the A3000. The 8372b (the 2mb Agnus of the 8372 series will work in the A500, A1000 (if there is a Rejuvenator board to put it in), and an A2000 (however, only if it is in one of the 2mb Chip RAM expansions such as DKB's Megachip--- they made three versions of their "MegaChip"... two had the 8372b... ONE had the 8375 and that was the most recent and best version of their board). I don't think the 8372b will work in an A3000... because that mobo may require the Agnus to BE the highest revision Agnus... I'd be shocked if someone showed the 8372b working in an A3000.

Cheers, much appreciated =D
I love watching the competence and confidence you show in repairing these machines.
Thanks, that's very kind of you to say =D
Well done Chris. Another top job accomplished
Every man and his dog were making A500 RAM expansions back in the day. So many variations.
Loved this one Chris, thanks. Perfect for a morning coffee. And some Amiga love to boot
Nice. So the CAS is, (basically), multiplexing then. Cool.
Great vid, nice 1, I loved every bit & byte!
How many A500's etc can one person have, ramdomly not enough!
A lot!!! =D
Hi Chris, I missed why you need to add the caps?

Just Wow. I love your videos. BTW I've become a patreon. I'll be as long as I can, but I'm happy now.
Thanks very much =D Super appreciated!!!!!
Question, on the Amiga 500+ for this you need a 2Mb agnus right? The board needs any mod?
Yes, 8375 needed - which the 500+ has. No other mods required!
@@GadgetUK164 thank you! Appreciate the help!

The 8372B was used in the 3000 - I showed it here!

BTW - the 8375 is also fitted to the 600...

Gah!
That's blasphemy! :P :P
