A pretty significant change for the ultra (for me at least) is that it now has a glass lens rather than plastic. People were melting the plastic pro lenses while on turbo.
One of olights engineers actually told me they were coming out with a pocket thrower with the sft-25r a couple months ago and here it is. The early access baton turbos have the old green tint emitter tho.
I've got the Acebeam P16 in the car. It's the best tactical flashlight I've ever seen. I am looking for something better than the LT GT Nano and Weltool T1 ProTac for pocket thrower. Gonna try the Wuben E6 and compare to the Baton Turbo. Both about the same size and nearly the same specs. EDIT: Love the Baton Turbo. Stays much cooler than my other throwers. Brighter than the E6, which I returned.
It's so good to see Olight using a quality emitter, allow the option to use non-proprietary batteries, and still keep the price low / reasonable on the Baton Turbo. As a Diamond member of theirs, I haven't bought an Olight in over a year, but I bought the Arkfeld Ultra and Baton Turbo this sale. Hoping they make the Baton Turbo in their new aluminum or in titanium soon for their Black Friday sale. Might pick one of those up if they do.
I just got my Ultra & Baton Pro combo. I upgraded from the original Arkfeld, while I liked the original, I hated the pocket clip. I'm already loving the deep carry clip on the Ultra. The original has found a new life as our cats' favorite laser & general house flashlight.
I've never done an emitter swap before, but I'm really interested in making my Arkfeld Pro warmer like yours! Do you have any tutorials or tips that you followed for the process?
I carried a bunch of different lights for quite a while I lost 1 a rovyvon them started carrying my nano there so short when u reach in ur pocked it’s easy to catch the bottom of the light and pull it right out and not realize it the arkfeld is perfect nice and thin and sits deep in ur pocket no more catching it and pulling it out best carry light for me so far just wish it was a little brighter
Neutral on turbo. Just above DUV on high, but not objectionable at all. Low and moonlight are pretty gross, but I’d never use a spot this small for closeup work, so my light has been memorized to high the entire time I’ve had it.
I hope olight makes a v2 of the warrior nano including a sft-25r. But sales weren't good with the nano so 🤷. The emitter they went with in the nano didn't make sense for a warrior model.
I apologize about that. I’ll tell you what, I’ll try to make a separate video soon. Or were you able to find good info about it from one of the big channels?
@@cheule No problem at all, the Perun 3 just happens to be the light for me this time around. Now, this may be worthy of a real headlamp from Olight. I'm a big olight fan and the Baton turbo is amazing but wurkkos has had the ts12 that's probably brighter and smaller. I have had the ts12 for some time now and I have the model with the sft-25r with a 14500 vapecell h10 . The light was $20 and I can almost but it has more output than the Baton turbo mainly because olight runs there lights as cool as possible because many of there fans cry about heat. Honestly my olights are almost child proof at this point because of the people that have no clue how a light works. I can't wait to put the 2 ts12's I have up against the new baton.
The Ultra is 100 lumens brighter, the U.I. is different also. Now instead of triple tapping to get to turbo mode, you double tap. Yes, the body has a proprietary metal, the clip is wider, battery life indicator is under the body instead of being flush mounted. Great video. Thank you.👍
Would you be interested in doing a Worrier 3s update? It seems like the perfect general purpose light imo but I’m curious if there’s anything else you’d recommend.
The Warrior 3S is still phenomenal. The only caveat is it’s large. Very small for 21700, mind you, but a bit large for what most people consider a good edc size. If the size isn’t an issue, it’s runtime and output dwarfs most lights on the market.
I love my warrior mini 3 as a general purpose light. I feel like it has a good balance of flood and throw while still being the slimmest 18650 light I own. Haven't gotten a 3s yet so I can't say much about that but the wm3 is amazing.
Have you tried the SFT-25R in the Noctigon KR1 yet? Between the Baton Turbo and the 18350 KR1, I think I've found my new EDC thrower... This SFT-25R emitter is amazing! Thanks for the review!
I have not! The larger reflector of the KR1 might prove to provide ever more throw. However the small size of the baton turbo is what I love. It feels half the size of a kr1.
Ok, I have to ask: Any chance the Baton Turbo head would work with the Warrior Mini 2 or 3 body thus claiming the title of ultimate pocket tactical light???
Well typically as tech advances a common attribute is size reduction. Batteries/energy specifically. Y'all never rocked the 3 D cell maglite with 45 lumens? That's a key chain light now 😊
Found something close. Trustfire mini X3. 1,050lm/4000k flood, 900/365nm UV, Class3r green, mag base, usb C, 2 way clip and 1"x4"x0.5" (smaller than arkfeld original). Also has a side light. Sale purchase, $56 + tax. Have to test battery longevity and overall durability.
@@cheule thank you very much, that was my question. I own several Olight 16340 for my Baton 3&4 (Premium). Its great that ill be able to use it in Baton Turbo!

Ok I really want the baton turbo. I find a flood more useful on daily tasks, and as such I use the baton 3 pro and my trusty little perun mini. I carry the mini with me clipped to my leatherman case with bezel facing forward so I can use it hands free while case is on my belt. Well the baton turbo will definitely complement my edc of the perun mini or baton 3. Thanks for the great review and comparisons.
I have the ark pro and use it daily as im a access control technician and the lazer & flash light combo is AMAZING testing fiber for breaks and pointing spots out to other workers with light & lazer in dark areas.......i seen they had an ark flex where head moves....they need to make a ark pro flex where the flex head has the light combo of the pros and ill buy that in a heart beat so i can use magnet to mount the flash light and move the head to put light where i need it and still have the laser function!!!! They almost have the most perfect light out there for me lol.
Does the Baton Turbo get super hot almost immediately on maximum like the Baton 4? I expect them to get hot of course, but the Baton 4 gets uncomfortably hot very fast, so I quit using it.
In my testing, not at all! During that video, the MC13 II SBT90.2 got hit in the 30 seconds or so I had it on. The Baton Turbo wasn’t warm at all. I have not left it on turbo for 10 minutes, but I have left it on turbo for 60s, and it was totally fine.
I get why people like them so much, but the proprietary batteries mean that when they are out of stock, you're screwed. And then you go hunting for any other sites that carry them. It was only out of stock during sales so shipping doesn't get jammed up.
