@@techtoremember8096 Yes, It has been well taken care of and I plan to keep it in my A/V setup for as long as I can. I like having my vintage electronics combined with my modern electronics. 😊
Between 1988 and 1991, I bought 3 SL-HF1000 decks and still have one still functional, for capturing old Beta tapes! Between 1990 and about 1993, I used two of them together as my primary video editing system. It blew me away how frame-accurate it was without time code! Upon receiving my first one in 1988, to verify its frame accuracy, I created a simple animation of a pencil on my floor's carpet by recording a few seconds, then moving back to the first frame I wanted to start motion, then back one frame after that, and so-on, creating about a 5-second 1-frame-increment of motion, consistently accurately editing exactly to the frame intended! Likewise, when editing from my playback deck to the record deck, the source would cut in (assemble OR insert mode) exactly with the frame I set it to! I'd used professional 3/4" U-Matic decks at USC, where I maintained the Cinema School's equipment in the mid-late 1980s, which were controlled by timecode-referenced editing controller's, and THEY would often drift by 1 to 3 frames! While this consumer Beta deck combo was merely referenced by control track and was THAT accurate! I also used the setup for recording audio narrations in the HF audio mode to easily fix mistakes "on the fly", by listening to my well-done part leading up to the mistake in pre-roll, speaking along with it, so, when the edit hit just prior to the mistake, I had a well-flowing speaking cadence going! Playing back a finished 5 to 10-minute narration recording with 10, 12, 15 mistakes fixed, you can't tell it was edited live-to-tape and not recorded live continuously from start to finish! I can't even do THAT on a computer or typical digital audio recorder! Thank goodness I still have a functional SL-HF1000 to continue doing my narration recordings that way!
I still have my slhf1000 and also a slhf900 . I need to get them repaired so I can watch all my videos that I made on my Beta movie camera. I need to get that repaired also.
I really wish beta did take off in the consumer market as well as the professional market my dad did have a Betamax machine but it stopped working we wound up getting a Emerson VCR and that VCR lasted quite a long time
Beautiful deck, I finally got one at a reasonable price, serviced and working excellent. My only complaint is for such a loaded remote, it doesn’t come with the ability to control the tracking adjustments.
That’s awesome that you got a great deal. Since the tracking actually physically maybe changing the tape alignment, that could be why it’s not feasible to be on a remote and must be a hard switch on the deck itself.
I do agree that flowers are underrated. There's a science to it, actually. I read in the BBC or something that most flowers people grow don't really fit the local environment.
The SL-HF1000 is Great. I have two of them from Japan running here in Europe you only need a pal/ ntsc converter and a 100v transformer. I have one ED-Beta and two SL-HF3000 (the Japanese version of the SL-HF1000).

Your editing just gets better and better!!!
Thank you ! Much appreciated
I still have my Sony SL-HF1000 and it still works well. It's a very solid built machine.
That’s great. Yes they are. They are built like tanks. Glad yours is working

As long as you have enough room in the house that’s awesome !

I'm lucky enough to have one of these bad boys! Bought it on ebay not working and resuscitated it. Stuck tape sensor arm that was all!
Wow ! That takes talent. I would not know how to fix that!
I HAVE SONY SL-HF1000 VCR .. TS IS A KING OF BETAMAX ALL TIME..SPECIAL IF YOU USE THE PRO-X TAPE...

Nice Retro Toy friend ...

Yeah. It was unfortunate that beta died so soon. Those machines were really constructed well and offered so many cool features
@@techtoremember8096 I HAVE A NEW VIDEO FOR YOU IT WILL BE UP SOON
Cool!
A Betamax IS a VCR! Your Emerson was the VHS format. Both Betamax and VHS machines are VCR's (Video Cassette Recorders).
I love Beta

It actually did, you just use the channel up and down buttons like a lot of the later vhs decks
nice B.T.R BETA CASSETTE Recorder
9:00 audio on this sample clip is great, do you care if I ask what video camera was used to tape this clip?
Hey ! Do you mean the clip of the baby ?
@@techtoremember8096 yes that one
It would have either been a Sony Tr5 or Tr6 (8mm) In about 1991 time frame
@@techtoremember8096 Sweet!! and correct me if im wrong but with "hi-fi" mode, the editing deck can turn Monotone audio into Stereo audio?
Is that right ? I didn’t know it could do that ! But I’m going to check the manual on that one !
I'd like to see your commentary on flowers.
Haha
I do agree that flowers are underrated. There's a science to it, actually. I read in the BBC or something that most flowers people grow don't really fit the local environment.
Oh I thought you were kidding originally. You are definitely right
Don't worry, you are just as right.

Awesome! 2 is always better than one but they take up a lot of room!
@@techtoremember8096 have a room just for my Betamax recorders. I have some clips of it online 😄
ED beta is the best of all, Not only it has S-Video out it recorded close to 500 of horizontal resolution on a special metal tape formulation.
I have every ED model
@@azshaw123 Do you have any spare parts?
THANK YOU..GOOD VIDEO// BUT YOU MUST RECORD IN PRO-X TAPE TO GET BEST RESULT ON IT
Good to know ! Thank you
Sadly, this deck is almost unobtainable here in Europe (PAL, 220-230V). Vast majority of them were for US and Japanese market.
