- There's a lot of fun shopping to be had at a renaissance festival!
From someone who's spent a heckload of time at and around them, here's my favorite and least favorite purchases!
What is your favorite renfest purchase? Let me know in the comments below!

I made the mistake of buying a sword at a boot shop for like $175 that actually went for around $50 on Medieval Collectibles. I understand these vendors have to mark up to make their money, and I certainly got plenty of use out of the sword for my costume, but I didn't need to buy it from them. The money I would have saved by buying it online would be long gone by now, so I'm not as mad as I was when I first realized my mistake.
We LOVE to shop small with artisans at the ren faire! 🥰

I know my comment is late to the fest, but my favorite thing at a Ren Faire is the smoked turkey legs! That is lunch and dinner! And I must have me some mead no later than mid afternoon. So I'm sober to drive by evening 😉.
Totally agree with what you said about not buying the tacky carbon steel swords.
I like mass produced swords, and I will buy one
You know, my opinions have actually changed a lot since I made this video a few year ago! If no one’s getting scammed or lied to, there’s not a wrong way to buy souvenirs at a renfest
I work at renaissance faires, and some of our cast members need to have zippers in their garments because of medical conditions.... those who are not able bodied understand this and do not shame those with zippers in their garments.
Oh dang, I didn't know about the historical reenactment society stuff or the shopping specials! That's awesome! Thanks for the tips, pal! :D
Is there a renfest near you? If there is I hope you get to go shopping something there!
my favorite things to buy? that's impossible to answer, I just spend money until I run out LOL, I totally agree about fake aluminum swords though
Realistically, when someone buys a blade (even a fake one) they're run up to the front gate to be picked up at the end of the day, so you can't even carry it around for some looking cool points that day haha
@@Mintfae I know, it's such a waste, looks good on the wall though but you may as well have a real sword if it's going to live on the wall, then it's worth double the cool points
I really hope the PA renaissance faire doesnt get canned this year.
I think we're all crossing our fingers for that curve to flatten right now!
