      Thank you very much for your kind words! Honestly age is but a number. I'm a part of an adults beginner orchestra and the majority of the members are as of the same age as you learning from scratch. They have all progressed wonderfully through their dedication and I just find that the most magical thing. All the very best with your journey ahead of you!

      Before practicing always do your scales! It does wonders for your intonation.

      I find a couple of pages of Sevcik seriously loosens up the hands and improves intonation.@@sandwitch61762

    wow your progress is fantastic! wish I had done some more recording of my progress since i started relearning(not an adult beginner but returning student) it's great to be able to look back and really see the improvement!

      @@Lepewhi Yes I have, I've been a part of an adults beginner orchestra for over a year now and I'm proudly the lead for the second violins 😄 I 100% agree, there's nothing that can beat the feeling of making music with others. I love my orchestra and I love this journey I've embarked on 😁🎻 Thank you again, that's a high compliment coming from a teacher!

    That’s amazing! I’m definitely inspired by your work in this video.
    I’m currently a beginner and I’ve been playing since July 2022. I’m working on Suzuki book 4, on the third piece (Seitz concerto 5, 3rd movement), and it’s definitely one of the hardest pieces I’ve played

      Because bow control didn’t come to me naturally when I started learning in my 30s. It’s still a challenge for me. Let’s keep practicing 😁

    Your playing is so rich with emotion in just mere 3 years, what would you say helped you the most to achieve such a rich tone.

      Thank you very much! I would say observing professionals or players who are much better than me has really helped. I love analysing how they all get such a rich sound and I apply this to my own playing. Also having a teacher also helped by far. Mine has given me a ton of tips and tricks to gain a better sound quality from my instrument. Of course I achieved what I have from HARD work!

    Very nice! Look at you doing vibrato at only 1 year. I'm an adult learner that has been playing for about 10 months. Do you have any advice for me? I'm taking lessons and practicing an hour a day.

I would say that your practise hours are perfect, 1 hour a day is perfect for progression. The fact that you are taking lessons is also a massive help and essential I would say. My main piece of advice would be NOT to compare yourself to others, I really can't stress this enough. Enjoy playing for yourself and celebrate even the smallest of victories. I wish you all the best, hope to hear from you again 😄

      Well done you for taking on an incredible journey! 🎻 My teacher thankfully taught me early which I'm very grateful for. It's hard for me to give much advice in this comment but one thing that really helped me was developing my finger knuckle flexibility. It also really helped me to lean my violin scroll between a wall (make sure to use a cloth to protect your violin), this really helps to take the weight off.

    Is violin your first instrument?
    I've been playing for 2 years now and it was tough in the beginning even tho its not my first stringed instrument
    Its for sure impressive how well you progressed, i respect how ambitionous you are and you should be proud of yourself

      Thank you very much! My first instrument was piano which I studied for about 9-10 years. I'm also self-taught with guitar so I have a very musical background. Violin was still super tough at the beginning as you've also experienced but I'm enjoying every bit of the journey 🙂

      My secret is dedication, passion and hard HARD work! I work from home mostly and during my early years I would practise during my lunch breaks and as soon as I finished work. Without me asking my teacher thankfully taught me vibrato within 5 months. I think she taught me a bit too well 🤣 All the best with your journey, I know you can do it!

      Hi there, I got a lot of inspiration from RUclipsrs and from listening to a load of violin concertos on Spotify. I found online tutorials okay during my self-taught stage, but once I found an in person teacher I didn't use many online sources. Oh amazing, I'm always inspired by people who return to their music instruments. All the best!

      Hi, I normally aimed for 1 hour everyday. I put in more hours during my earlier stages but my teacher told me I was overloading myself!

    It's really good. Only bad thing I have to say is your fingers are resting way too high from the fingerboard. They need to travel much further than necessary to play a note. Could be more efficient.

      I was self-taught for about 2 years before switching to my lessons. It was extremely on and off so I don't really count it

    Someone I find it hard to believe he is self taught and that his left hand was so relaxed for 7 months….
    If it is real then good on ya! You are definitely a prodigy but if you are not please be truthful or a lot of people would be so discouraged at their own 7 months progress 😂
