Never heard of using wd40. Probably not the best to weld over that due to the fumes it gives off. I'd recommend using acetone to clean it after using the wire wheel.

Safety tip: most tungstens have a radioactive element (2% thoriated is 2% thorium content for example) which means the dust from grinding is radioactive, so definitely throw a respirator on while grinding your tungsten

I’ve watched you guys for a years now and your welds get better and better

Keep in mind that if you DO run into something too thick to do with your machine you can always just grind a groove and do a whole bunch more passes and you can get 100% penetration regardless of the thickness. This is how pipe welders do most of their welds (though it's often a tig root and stick fill/cap). Definitely agree about buy once cry once though 😉.

That tip about the tungsten grind direction changed my welds so much

Great video with great advice. As a retired of 30+ years in the welding supply business, keep in mind to practice, practice, practice. For gas flow CFH settings & people on a budget try lower settings, as long as your welds look good & are strong conserve your gas & always shut the cylinder valve off when not in use. Nothing worse than going out to your shop on a Sunday morning & finding your cylinder empty from a small leak in your regulator or fittings. As always, thank you for another great video!

Touch and hold in the center of the screen on the GoPro, forces it to focus on whatever is in the center and expose properly for what your aimed at as well

Nice explanation and tips, very pragmatic real world stuff. When I started learning tig I wish someone told me start with a big cup lots of argon and stick out. Its so much easier than struggling to see what's happening with a small cup and limited tungsten stick out.

Great vid man. Would be cool to see you show how you tig weld some tubing on the vehicle if you do that sort of thing. Really enjoy your channel. Keep up the great content!

Use a lot more gas with that cup! Love the gas lens but there are smaller one that don’t require so much gas! The 12 good for stainless steel 💯

vinegar and a wire brush works as a good alternative to muriatic acid. just leave it in a tub for a couple hours.

I doubt that Everlast is actually putting out 185 amps based on those welds, at least on the pulse setting. Also pulse is cheating 😎
