I would bet the liability policy Swimply has doesn't cover non owners I briefly looked though it but that would be my big red light for renting my own pool someone gets killed back there and now I'm on the hook for million dollars. I know my homeowners won't cover any of this I'm nervous about neighbors and friends bringing their kids over to swim I'm out there supervising.
I'm wondering if the people who were selling the house were also renting the pool out. If i was selling my house I would definitely rent my pool out in between the bookings considering I'd be keeping it nice for the showings anyways.
I think this is a really great idea! What if you're a content creator? and needed a private pool for two hours? You could do a lot of outfit changes and possibly earn $1000+ for your posts... that is a really great investment! and totally worth it... so many possibilities. I would even rent something like this out for my bachelorette party!
I've really enjoyed using Swimply in Texas. I think the price and experience varies based on where you live. I'm not surprised those mansions in LA are so expensive to rent.
Even as LA resident , i think these prices are ridiculous. Hard to beleive this will succeed in the longrun. Way more economic to pay a bit more for a whole airbnb with pool.
@@isaacgomez7185 For filming , that is such an extreme niche that doesnt have mainstream appeal. Airbnb has more moat in the fact that everyone travels and needs a place to stay in their travel.
My pool cost $250,000 to build this year and I pay to maintain the chemicals and cleaning. Then Swimply takes a cut, I am sure. So the price is low IMO.
Renting out your private pool for money is actually a business, so I would be interested to know how this affects the homeowner's insurance rate. Lots of liability exposure.
Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. Pools are already an insurance liability, and using it as a business seems like it might cause some trouble if anything does happen. As a homeowner it would make me pretty nervous....

Shelby, how does this work in terms of liability? Do the owners need to have insurance to cover the guests in case something happens? Are kids allowed?
I checked the prices here in Utah it’s like 50 bucks I could maybe see it as like a birthday party but those are definitely unaffordable for most people
In all respect, if I did this app I'd have to rent only for like a boujee party with a lot of people to be worthwhile. Also, I wish you showed a low, medium, and high cost pool
If you had a group and spilt the cost the price would be more worth it, considering it’s private and not public like resort pass. Spending $75 or so each to have a nice afternoon with friends is worth it imo. You’d easily spend that much on a night out at a bar or something.
