Okay, I literally hated the old google sites, I must have made 20 and each one ended in confusion and eventual disappointment. Now that said, the number two thing I hate on all the internet is when someone who is obviously bright, and there are a lotttttt of people on this thang, but bright or smart people don't know that they are trying to talk as fast as their brain is thinking, GREAT, only the rest of the world cannot process the information at the speed of thought as fast as they do. My last thing I will say is you are the first person to talk fast that I was shaking my head up and down as to understanding two thirds of what you were saying, and that is just incredible! If you could slow down about 20 per cent you could be awesome. Now I will replay and replay most sections of what you are teaching and I will get at least a working knowledge of what you presented here. Thank you

Hey Jamie! how do I go about adding MY calendar to my site. oh! sorry, I am a teacher and I'm in charge of making a website for my church. this is good practice for me to get my shop site up and running. (On that one I'll be bugging you about google forms LOL I need to make some self-assessment/self-reflection google forms for that.) It just seems that when I hit calendar it puts a generic calendar in but without the info that I've added. if you can help - I'd be very grateful! And i am very grateful for this tutorial - by far the best and simplest explained. Great job!
What I like is the power this will have for students to create their own websites as another platform. The old Sites was terrible but this update will be fantastic to use in classrooms. Can't wait to incorporate into GAFE

Thanks a lot. I'm a teacher who is wanting to set this up as an appraisal tool. If I make a google site as the owner. Can I copy the site so teachers can have a unified template. We don't want the teachers to move things around for example change the school logo and take of the code of Ethics etc... but can they still add documents to the site, add videos etc as editors? OR do they have to be owners of the site?

I really like and appreciate your tutorial. Your instructions are clear and useful. However, I wish you would also clarify the numerous limitations of the new Google Site in terms of selection of font color, font style etc. I find the new Google Site to present an easy and fast cookie-cutter approach and personally prefer the classic site's ability to offer more professional looking options.

Yes, you can. I use Camtasia on some of my videos and it's very quick to do. I haven't made a video yet on it but I am sure if you search Camtasia and chromakey you will find the instructions.
What keywords should I look for? I have done "Record webcam" but then it is just the picture of me in the screen - not like you look here, as if you are sitting in front of the screencast (or as if you were recording yourself sitting in front of the screen being projected behind you). Hi Jamie As and educator. How do you set up a document submission? We can do some work through Google forms. However we are wondering about the best ways to create a document submission within New Google Sites for out students.

Hello - in the OLD Google Sites there was a feature to set a Page type to 'List' as a mini-DB. I used this extensively for all my previous sites. But with the NEW Google Sites, I don't see anywhere to create a List like before. Is this a feature Google didn't bring over, or am I just missing something? Thanks in advance.

I asked this question on your Twitter site. Trying again here. Using Google Sites as a group wiki has one limiting feature. Adding links in classic wikis like Wikipedia or DokuWiki markdown is easy. Simply add the link like this: [[target page name]]. You don't have to create the target page before creating the link. From what I can determine, Google Sites page links are not so easy. You have to create the target page before adding the link via a dropdown. In your experience, do Google Sites users find this awkward, or is it a matter of managing expectations?
Hi Ron, I would say the New Google Sites is a work in progress. I think they put together a simple to use tool but it's defiantly lacking some features. I think Google Sites will be like many other Google products, they will keep adding to it. But in the mean time, it's certainly about managing expectations.

The new Google Site is totally responsive. Here is the principal difference with the old version.

I do have a green screen and proper lights set up. When I use the remove color option the green goes away and I'm left with what you see.

Hi, you do need to make sure your folders have proper access levels. If the are not shared then visitors won’t see the comments contents.

It can be used for commercial content. If you get a Google Apps account you can customize the domain name.
