2022 here, 20 years and several awards later, I'm just loving to rewatch and relive all of this, so many feelings, so many different aspects of my life, so many memories, I even remember how my life was going at the broadcast of some specific episodes... The Shield.
This is by far the most realistic cop series in history. Crude and brutal. It graps you from chapter 1 to the last episode of season 7. Great acting, direction and script. To this date NOTHING surpasses The Shield.

my wife and I are literally glued to the screen every time we see the complete series on DVD it is truly a glimpse of Los Angeles life in a neighborhood where characters on the edge of survival live on average .. Michael is priceless as an actor of incredible versatility .. I'm sure who in private life is a great person a greeting from Italy to all the strike team and the cast of THE SHIELD
I bought the hole special edition for 100 €uros and it was worth. It’s my favourite stuff to watch. I watched the hole game 20 times or more and everytime a 😢 tear does drop🤷♂️. Ty very much for this awesome production. Big LUV from Germany✌️
I remember my parents watching this religiously when it was on TV in the early 2000s. I NEVER had the patience to watch a series, an episode a week, like it used to be, especially something as ingeniously created, and as much of a constant adrenaline rush as The Shield. There's so much of a different light that gets shined on (corruption in the police force). It makes you rethink corruption in a whole different way. The police have to be dirty to some degree, in order to gain trust on the streets, which is where they gather Intel to bust the bigger operatives. Most people just see the corruption at face value, as cops just being dirty because they can. The Shield exposes their side of the story, and the real reasons behind a lot of corruption. Vic Mackey is boss, but they're all great.

Doesn’t really get the respect it deserves. It made FX and changed the look and language of broadcast cable. SOA, Mayans, Yellowstone, etc can all thank The Shield.
Season 1 - I may have killed a fellow detective, made Dutch's life shit (literally), blackmailed a police officer for his sexuality, not helped to solve Farmington's security problems for the sake of my schemes. a true masterpiece of a show on thee exact same level as breaking bas in some ways there similar vic mac and walter white are also very similar but yea if your looking for drugs violence some sex brilliant characters complex and compelling storylines and plenty of dramatic moment mix with some great comedy some heartbreaking moments some of the best acting youl ever see and the icing on the cake is that it has some the best finale stretch of episodes ever along with one of the greatest series finales ever brilliant show very influential and revolutionary shawn ryan is a massive genius

David Rees Snell portraying Ronnie was always a not planned move, Shawn Ryan stated in one of his podcasts that he needed a 4th member to strike team, but it developed to something more , after 4 seasons of recurring in the show he got series regular for season 5, that is why he is missing from season 1-4 promotional material. Also David is friends with Shawn before the show even was thought of.
Each episode has a continuing story arc, less more so for season 1, it is more of a warm up to characters and seen as more serialized then any other season. The creator of the show Shawn Ryan has mentioned it before in the past that , he was new to showrunning so they thought they could not get past season 1.

But like I said, I haven’t even watched 1 episode, yet. Maybe I’ll catch the importance...
