Based on what I saw, it appears Driver intentionally parked car on the tracks because it immediately stopped which meant brakes applied in exactly that spot.
Insurance scam ,my car was stolen ,but we know she put it on the tracks got out of the car left the door open and watch the trai rip that car to pieces ,and take down the signal board ,and probably made the engineer think that he killed somebody ,terrible thing to do for not paying a car note .It hard to really believe that we have this kind of sick individual driving and walking our streets in this once great nation .We The People !!!

Might have been a good idea to have management call a flagman to be at the crossing instead of every train having to stop completely. Lack of railroading logic !
Great video, thanks for putting it up on RUclips. Someone commented on the trains having to stop and deploy the train staff to protect the crossing. I must admit I thought that was odd. Here in the UK, Network Rail take control of a damaged crossing and they are responsible for letting trains / traffic through. That usually means that trains only have to slow through the crossing and not stop, saving time. Still better safe than sorry.
I see that when in the US a barrier is broken, after the train stops, a conductor leaves the train, walks to the crossing, place something smoking useless stuff on the crossing, waves a red flag and the train using a horn cross the crossing (let of course the conductor enter the train). Much different approach in the Netherlands. Train approaches the crossing at very low speed (max 10 km/h), sounds the horn and cross the crossing.
What was the other video that got taken down after VR complained? It was your own work and didn’t use any footage from their three cameras here and they flagged it anyway, or ?
Heard about this (as I imagine many have) from virtual railfan, crazy story/situation there great vid Ive been hoping someone would do something like this, Thanks
Downeaster Amtrak train crash into a car that was trying to beat down easter train here in Portland Maine was North to Brunswick Maine the driver was taking the hospital
I don't understand, why not have a loco or a control cab at the back of the train? This would avoid a wye or a loop to turn the train around at the end of the line.
Great video. Cool seeing the trains blow their horns for the crossing. Always rare to hear the trains blow their horn at Ashland. Sad that the women stopped on the tracks and left the scene.
Why do the passenger trains come to complete stop, then go another few hundred yards and come to another complete stop, and then continue, like they’re stopping at a four-way stop sign? It makes no sense to me. 🤷♂️
Good video! It figures that the VRF police flagged you other one. They want a monopoly on the rail cam business and they get pissy when people don’t fall in line with their thinking.
Seen that accident was watching came then when it happened. Great video but I would've done mine past station st stop ights there then we could see stopped amtrak front at station.
Any vehicle that gets hit by a train the driver should stay in it, this includes high-centered semi trucks there's no valid reason for getting hit by a train
Looked like maybe a suicide attempt then changed her mind at the last instant? Anyway, walked around in town the day after. Lot's of damage to the crossing gates can't imagine what it cost to repair that. Absolutely crazy.
You're right it wasn't insurance fraud she was just an unlicensed driver without even a little bit of sense to know not to cross the tracks with a train coming. She then fled the scene and she was charged for all those things, not insurance fraud.

What is the car that got hit manual or automatic? Just curious.

But, of course, that would require something known as sense.

4:11 the ghost sound of steam train
There are a lot of passenger trains on that route. Surprised to see that many in the video.

I bet the fine alone from Amtrak is pretty hefty. She should be forced to meet with the engineers and crew.
You know it was intentional and it didn't realize being filmed
If she was a local, she should of known about VRF's 3 cameras the one under station and the two on the other corner.
Good stuff. Thanks for putting this up.
I saw the VR vid and I'm still trying to figure it out. Did the vehicle quite. running or did the driver panic when the gates came down ?
I don’t know
If your vehicle quit running, would you be running towards the train waving your arms? This person just walked away.
I been following this story since it took place. Police identified the driver and only charged with a misdemeanor. I'm like seriously???????

Wow looks like a good place to watch trains go by. Thanks for the times

Is this from the accident where the girl walked away?
Yes
Did the cops ever find her yet and why she did it?
I have no idea. I didn’t know she just walked away. I thought she was caught but idk
Yes the woman was found and charged as per an article I found.
Those passenger cars need a bath, you can't see out of the windows. Thanks for the follow up. 👍🏼 🚂
excellent video.
I hope that woman who parked her car on the tracks was sent the bill for the signal she knocked down.
Stack train stop a long distance from the crossing they were to be protecting.
Why are they taking to much time and caution. Someones gonna put their car on the tracks soon anyhow.

Worst crossing in va
Hmmm, I have a friend that was wondering 🤔 if the scam worked

They have live camera's there so it would be caught on it

WHAT WASTE OF TIME
lol. How?

It was an insurance scam. She has now been charged thankfully.

Open borders..... more unlicensed, uninsured, illegal drivers & activities
@@lysaclarke1707 Open borders has nothing to do with it. US has a problem with female drivers, and most of them are not illegals/immigrants.
