I think they did. That CD might be out of print now. I am sure that this audio was recorded in studio, or this might be a performance from which the audio was put on the CD.
Idk why this is not at the top of the country charts. Are these girls signed to a big Nashville label yet? They should be. They have a gift for writing/ performing anthemic songs.
They really need to release this song as the first single from their next album. I know it's an older song but with the social movement to destigmatize mental illness, it's more relevant than ever. It's a song whose time has come.
If it's so important, why don't you do something by yourself instead of make others feel responsible for doing what you think you must? Just saying... Regards!

Beautiful earings. This song lands on my soul gently. My great uncle Norman suffered from scitzofrenia his whole life. He managed to serve in the military successfully. The only real inspiration I had growing up that and superheros and villains. He passed away in a nursing home and cried his eyes out every time I left a visit. A very strong kind man he was 💯

They kept this piece as pure as their earlier version. So much thought is in this piece. I love this song and its message. Their look has evolved as well. Megan is so very good looking. They both are...but Megan is so connected to that slide it's one with her.

I love this group, especially this song, even though I hate the truth in it. I've had friends the last 20 yrs. who have it. Some have passed on. One has a very good attitude about hers most of the time. I can't help the tears every time I listen or even read the lyrics. Don't come for me.
Mental Illness is real. I thought I was going to dodge dementia and a few other serious struggles but I was wrong.. These lyrics are so true. It's a struggle to hang on to logic. More people need to be educated on this subject! It's shattering lives everyday more and more.

How could I have not seen this clip! Congratulations to the production team. Great work all around. I'd previously seen Larkin Poe's live performance from the Convent Club that was absolutely stunning. Rebecca and Megan's introduction provided the context for this beautifully written and performed song.
Such a wonderfully haunting song. Probably my favorite of theirs, or one of them.. sooo many that are just too good to not put on that list. But this one is well beyond deserving a spot on said list ;-)
You guys (girls) are truly awesome. Love everything you do. Every time I hear you play you guys bring me so much joy and love. It comes through with your passion you both play with. Truly heart felt. You guys are super stars. Love your stuff, keep playing with your heart and you never go wrong. :)

My grandmother was dying of dementia/alzheimer's for 10 years -- couldn't remember her own daughter, my aunt, who cared for her daily. I agree. I like their other songs too but this one is special. It's very personnel for them. Do you know the backstory?
I know what time is, time is a thief
It'll steal into bed and rob you while you sleep
And you'll never feel it
It pulls off the covers, and rifles through your head
Then you'll wait to find you can't remember what you just said...

I try not to worry...

Just let me keep what's mine (let me keep what's mine)
Please don't come for me
If you must then just please wait and let me have some time (let me have some time)
Please don't come for me
Mind over matter (it don't matter) when you're as mad as a hatter
It's hard to draw a clear distinction
Who you are, who you were
Through the looking glass, the past and future begin to blur
And no-one can blame you
Well they say the world is what you make it
You think, speak and breathe
And those rules still apply, stuck in a world of make believe
You make the best with what you're given...
Please don't come for me
I promise I'll be great
Just let me keep what's mine (let me keep what's mine)
Please don't come for me
If you must then just please wait and let me have some time (let me have some time)
Please don't come for me
Mind over matter (it don't matter) when you're as mad as a hatter
Off with her head, off with her head
Paint the roses, paint the roses
...
Thanks!
Word! 💓
Paint the roses paint the roses red.
It robs you while you sleep then you'll "wake" to find....
An amazing song about a difficult topic..... Anyone who's had a family member with dementia will understand.
