You all are just such a truly indescribable blessing to me. I was up late cleaning after my 2 and 3 year olds went to sleep. And I was feeling tired but everytime I click on a Big Ski Family video I feel encouraged and renewed. I came here from Katie's channel and my favorite videos are the Q&A's with mom. I grew up in a "Christian" home but a very physically and verbally abusive one with parents divorcing when I was 5 and molestation (from the babysitters adult son) around that time so I have always been trying to learn the right way or better ways of being a wife and mother. I cherish the memories of my grandparents who were married for nearly 60 years. This has been the richest blessing I've found online. As a child I would watch cars pulling into the driveways of different homes and long to be invisible and follow them inside - just to be a fly on the wall. I got a glimpse of true Christian love and fellowship at a Bible Study our family attended for about 6 months when I was 8 or so. Watching your family and being "invited in" is just overwhelming and inspiring. I take your scripture references and incorporate them into my personal Bible studies. Even though I know a lot of scripture since childhood they refresh me as God intended. I note your book recommendations so that I can get my hands on them even if just from the library. I will be sharing this with my mom and older sister. This is the music that blessed us 20, 30 years ago. I knew almost every song you all sang and remember many from John Hagee, Billy Graham tent services and our old church of youth. I'll be playing this one over and over to enjoy these beautiful hymns. I hope your children understand how truly blessed they are. God bless your family and please keep making these videos.

We are the Martin family from Charlottesville, VA. We raised 6 children. We prayed daily that each would accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and that they would love Him with their whole heart. The times we spent singing, praying and studying the scriptures come back as memories in later years to encourage us to continue serving the Lord. We now have 6 grandchildren to enjoy. Following the Holy Spirit brings opportunities to share the good news of the death, burial and resurrection of our wonderful Savior. The eternal God is our Refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms.
I can appreciate and respect your larger family and pray none will take their eyes off of the Lord. God has One family that every believer in Christ is a member of. We are on the journey to our Heavenly Home!

Praise the Lord! What a joy it is to join you in lifting up our voices in worship to our loving God and Father and to rejoice in his power and promises. Yes, be like a child and believe God's promises that tell you that your Father will take perfect care of you, guide you, and give you wisdom! His resources are always available and his storehouse of blessings, goodness, provisions, and love is never closed. We are never isolated or quarantined from being in his presence. "Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from they presence? if I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea:; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me." Psalm 139:5,7-10 Hallelujah! I just watched this tonight after getting some bad news. I knew I needed to praise God or hear His word to combat what was happening in my life: I found your channel after watching “Now That We’re A Family,” and seeing you interviewed by your daughter. This video ministered to my heart and to a sorrowful place that I was in. I’ve been a Believer for years, but somehow the daily struggles of raising a family and homeschooling and church responsibilities just got to be too much, and I lost my joy. Tonight I took a big step back toward my Jesus. He never walks away, but I strayed. Your family and faith is a blessing to me. Thank you so much, and hallelujah!

What a blessing you guys are!! I grew up on these songs but we don’t sing them in our church. I’m going to be putting this on my tv so my kids can learn them too! Thank you for doing this. I’m going to try to get my mom to watch it if we can figure how over the phone. She will be so blessed by the verses and music!

This was so wonderful! How do you learn to play the piano like that with all those beautiful embellishments? I am a pianist, but I've always been somewhat beholden to the written page. I haven’t taken the course, but I am fairly certain that she teaches her method in the Voetburg music academy. Katie and Elisha from “Now that were a family” have a music course online.

Wow this is amazing. What a blessing to let us see. I am wondering how do you get your children to enjoy singing and not to see it as a “drag”. They seem to love it and how do you inspire children to love the Lord in this way and sing in this way? Also how did they learn piano? Do they all know how to play? It’s amazing! May God bless your family.
My family also loves music and to play and sing, especially hymns. I learned to play the piano from our church pianist (and now I get to teach piano and serve as the church pianist) and the most impactful quote I ever read that sums it up was something like this:
If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up the men to gather wood, divide the work, and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea.
If you love God and praising Him, and others see your heart and desire, the enthusiasm is contagious.
