Happy 25th Birthday Disney's The Lion King. 1994 - 2019. 25 Years Of Disney Magic Family Fun Music Comedy Action Adventure And Excitement. Thanks Mate. X
Wow i'm about as old as the film, seeing as i was born just over a month after it premiered in theaters. Hard to believe it's been that long already given it was among my top favorite Disney films as a little kid!!!!
I got this a few weeks ago,. I wanted best Buy's steelbook but my local best buy didn't have it. So I just got this release and put it into the target story book I already have. I took the Dvd disc out of that and let my friend have the blu-ray and dvd in a regular blu-ray case with the 4k cover
The unfortunate thing is that the film has never really been given the deluxe treatment in terms of bonus features, barring the exception of when it was new on VHS and Laserdisc back in 1995 with the respective collector's sets. All releases since the Platinum Edition DVD has had a very light platter of extras mostly focused toward the Broadway show and less the film itself, including leaving off such great features as the making of special hosted by the late Robert Guillame that was on both of those two former collector's releases. Seriously, i don't get why Disney has dropped the ball so much on Lion King's home releases since 2003 in regard to extras while even the Platinum Editions of The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin included fairly substantial amounts of bonus material. Given it's hands down the biggest film of the four out of the entire '90s Renaissance era, the huge flaw in that area really is a shame.
It technically did not take a year. The Lion King was released on Ultra HD Blu-ray and 4K digital download on December 3, 2018. 11 months later on November 4, 2019, J's Blu-ray does an unboxing of it. 11 months is not a full year.
By the way, J's Blu-rays did an unboxing of Disney/Pixar's Inside Out 3D Blu-Ray Ultimate Collector's Edition on November 18, 2015 which is the same month that it was released on November 3, 2015. So I wouldn't call it late.
This is one of my favorite Disney movies. Not my number one favorite, but I would put it somewhere in my top 5
My favorite Disney and animated movie ever, I love Lion King so much. My favorite characters are Timon and Pumbaa and my favorite song is Be Prepared.
0:56 I agree. Although, the last time I watched the original Lion King was 17 years ago.

I have the 1995 MPC VHS of this film, I hope to get the 4K Ultra HD version.

I still have The Lion King VHS tape.
The 2011 3D release didn't have a 2nd Blu-Ray disc.
Oddly enough, I got a Disney Land ad at the end of this video.
Are you going to unbox the 2019 remake on 4K Ultra HD next?
Are you gonna do a DVD unboxing of Adventure Time: The Complete Collection next?
DO THE 2019 VERSION

Absolutely true. I buy movies right when they come out but I don't always do the unboxing right away at all because I just don't have the time.
