I've the same part on a CHPT3 V3 and it works brilliantly. I also have a P Line bike but have kep the mudguards on so haven't need the H&H hook. Perhaps it's the P/T line rear triangle that is the issue, but I can assure you that the H&H hook works perfectly
There is some cheap way to modify the balancing, some ppl put soft foam around the contact point triangle, to kind of push the front wheel further (also prevent brush from stock derailluer) to make it balance
I going to guess that the H&H part was made with the Brompton stock advanced roller wheels (65mm diameter) and Schwalbe One tyres in mind. In my experience, how 'balanced' the bike sits when folded depends on these 2 factors, as much as the hook.
@@BromptonFamilyTime You're right, the H&H EZ Stand v2 (32mm radius as advertised) is suppose to replace the P/T-Line rollers. You're also using SMC (non-stock) wheels but that may not be the problem. It's odd that your front wheel is not folding down so much so that it's actually affecting the seatpost insertion :( Brompton usually provides sufficient clearance to allow for different wheels. What's hindering the fold exactly? Is the hook resting on the rear triangle at all? You may also wish to deflate the rear tyre to troubleshoot, as its contact point near the bottom bracket affects the fold too. Good luck!
Deflating the tire would probably work but it should work without it. I am waiting to hear back from H&H for a solution before I start to grind, cut or sand something lol.
I use oversize roller wheels, and a lightweight axle with a carbon tube in the middle. And my lighter hook in front is intended for mudguards on my Superlight, as a Rainy Dane, and I won't leave home without them, if it starts raining! Finn. Denmark
If the folded Part needs more lift ... try Electric Tape and wrap it around the Hook and where it contacts the frame. Worked with my C Line when i removed the mudguards and then realized, the Hook is different between the Brompton Versions. It's Ghetto but works 😅
I don't know how you think that part was going to help balance the points of contact when your bike rests on the ground. You need to analyze the 3 points of contact. The tire touching the ground and the 2 metal pieces you replace the roller wheels with. In order for the 3 points not to rock, it must be even.
That must be frustrating. I have purchased some H&H with Bikegang. Bikegang has always been very prompt with technical issues. I can provide a contact email and send to your BFT gmail if that helps. Please let me know here … Alright 👍👍😅
@@BromptonFamilyTime So what is the solution then? Please give us an update as I am considering getting that part in order for my CHPT V4 to balance while folded. If it does not balance then no point in getting it.
Thanks for sharing! Let us have an update!

Maybe I was sent the wrong one.
I ordered the Ti works E hook, I hope it will work.

They advertise it to work with the H&H stands (same as mine) and the Continental Urban and Schwalbe One tires are the same size.

@@BromptonFamilyTime any update? Did you hear back from H&H?
I think it will work if you put back the original roller wheels .
They are advertised to work with the stands. Check out any vendor that sells them and you will see the same setup as mine.

I am waiting for H&H to get back to me. I don't want to try and fix something that isn't the problem.
Hi , have H&H get back to you pertaining to the wobble ??
No they have not. I will try to figure out what is wrong over the summer and see if I can figure out the problem.
Cheers ….
I have the same issue really mad :( Did H&H come back to you?
No they ghosted me unfortunately. I still have it around somewhere. It's ashame since it was rather pricey for a hook!
I have a bump in the floor where I park my bike so it always sits level 😂.
lol
Once you used back the P/T Line ez wheels , it should stand fully on the ground .
This part is advertised to work with the ez stands.
Oh it meant to be compatible with H&H fins stands , could be some tolerances that missed ..
BFT..hay,why did cavemen invent square wheels, thy like the beat when they rolled.. sometimes it's best not to reinvent the wheel..🚴
Could it be the tyres?
Tires are the same size as the original tires.

Shame about the part, not working out .

I'm just an end user. I didn't design the product. It is adverstised to make the bike balance.

I have received an email from H&H already so I hope they can offer a solution.
@@BromptonFamilyTime So do you get the answer from H&H yet after the email?
